Complete Volcano kit??
Some stores carry the Volcano as just the base unit, e.g. Volcano Digital but it has no accessories (base unit) , no bags, no valve kit, nothing but the Volcano body.

What makes a "Complete Volcano" when ala carte? Volcano Digital base unit + Easy or Solid Valve Kit, does that have everything you need?

VaporNation only sells as complete with everything. Is that just base unit and Easy Valve Kit or Solid Valve Kit??
Thanks

Same boat @MinnBobber
Sort of! ;)

Would it be better to buy direct from SB?
They usually are generous with extras but exactly, how much generous?
As an FC member I have a 10% discount on vaporizers and a temporary 15% on accessories.
Cheapest option would be: shop from a third party and get
full Volcano with 10% discount,
wear and tear for plenty/mighty/volcano (in my case) with 15%
OR:
Be a man, pay the full price of 500 bucks from S&B but receiving BOTH valves or lots of supplies? Like bags?
They annihilated me with free gifts when asked something under warranty for my Crafty! x3 more of what I asked and way over their warranty's duties as a manufacturer.

I ordered from vapeusa as well. $330 delivered. We'll see if it gets here. If it does you will see me in this thread more!
.........................................................................
sticks, when did you order?
I have a 2/12 order that still is showing paid and unfilled---my accessories order.
It seems like that should have been mailed by now?? Parts were in stock too

I got my Volcano Digit and it's amazing, after loading the chamber maybe halfway and doing 3 bags I was more medicated than I've been I guess since I sold my last Volcano. For the first time in years I get to the point where I have enough, with the LSV I would reload and reload it and it was never enough. I'm really happy with my choice to go back to the Volcano.

However today as I went to turn it on the heat button didn't do anything. I un-plugged and re-plugged it to restart its computer and it was fine after that. Is this a common issue? I had left it plugged in permanently since I got it, is this a problem? I hope this won't be an ongoing issue.

Glad you're enjoying it! I am not sure if that's a common issue but don't think so. Hopefully it doesn't happen again let us know! P.s 8 find temperatures around 340 to be great for early morning and 360+ betyer before a balance and 375+ for night time, but this will also depend on your strain!

A Volcano & a SSV are a perfect matching setup; best of both worlds, one can be a single big hitter/ripper like a bong, and the other is great for groups, so don't worry, you're on the path we are all on here, and that is one to multiple vaporiser ownership, because vapes ;)

Why not just get a a SSSV instead of both units and save some cash/ have variable fan speeds, or is the fan speed just supposed to be left alone once you find the temp you like?

Ah so you're the person with the 4 bags! I was trying this the other day and wow, 3 is nearly enough sometimes. Nice to have a set, dependable dose though. Happy vaping to you too!

Yeah, I usually start somewhere around 360 & work my way up to 430 quickly within 4 bags(only 1 actual bag), toss all abv into a container for later use where i'll fill up chamber & go 446 to get every pennies worth from my meds:tup:

Yes, i've stopped all combustion! I started out with quitting smoking cigarettes and going to e-cig. After a short while I could taste and smell again like WOW!! Catch a wiff of someone smoking a cigg and was like ewww that's what I smelled like. Helped me Kick a 26 year tobacco habit. I just Vape now. Then within a short time afterwards I decided that Vaping would be Healthier for me and stopped combusting my medicine. HUGE difference!! I NEVER knew my meds should taste SOOOO Good! When I combusted they didn't taste anywhere near as good as what they do now, I didn't know any better. I had to combust a jay last friday while out cuz my MiniVap is Down right now & the whole thing was just HORRIBLE tasting and the effects to me were not Pleasent or strong like if I had Vaped the same material! I'm a Firm beleiver in the benefits of Vaping

I've Been SUPER HAPPY with my purchase of my Digit 10 months ago. It's all I expected and I love the Quality Construction.
@vapeguy

Mine has been Plugged in pretty much all the time since I've gotten it too, except the few times I took it out to show friends & I have not experienced any Issues thus far.

Have a good night all, sorry if any mis spelling, I think I did well, but I did just medicate with my Plenty and am def. highly medicated.

The person the post was aimed at has already bought a Volcano, so the SSSV would not be required.

I was wondering at what temp do you stop vaping and consider it done? I've been stopping at 420, should I go higher? I find I like starting at 370-380.

I've just been shopping after about 3 balloons, been starting my temp at 198° to 200° and rising but 2° or 3° depending how the herb is looking :peace:

That seems a bit high to start at, what amount are you loading? I would think it would make me cough if I started that high, I do end at higher temps like 420, but I like starting at 380 (193 Celsius).

BTW I can't believe how clean the top screen on the solid valve filling chamber insert stays after a few days of use. I had to replace my LSV screen about daily as it got completely clogged, and I'm using a finer grind in the Volcano which is more prone to clogging. Is it common for the top screen to remain clean for days by just dry brushing it clean with the included brush (I kept my first Volcano's brush and used it on the lsv screens but they still clogged fast)?

I've only been using it for a about a week so I'm still to fine tune what temps I'm starting at, yeah my top screen stays fairly clean too just a quick brush and it fine again,iv been using the grinder that came with the cano but what I have noticed is the gauze holder is getting sticky theirs got to be a way of smoking that aswell lpl :peace:

I'm not to sure hiw much Im loading g it up with I've not been weighing it,so would you suggest a few °c lower ? I felt when I was heating at 185°c i wasn't getting anything from it

Gauze holder? Do you have the easy valve? I got the solid valve in large part because I didn't want to have to use a gauze holder that inevitably would get dirty and clogged.

I don't weigh it either but... well I was assuming you have the solid valve so we can't really compare then but I often fill it about half way to the top in my solid valve but both valves have different size and shape chambers, I also don't believe the same amount would vape the same in both valves as they're so different it's like 2 different Volcanoes which I don't think can be compared.

It's confusing to me that you're talking Celsius as I'm used to Fahrenheit for vaping, but 185c is 365f, I would find that too weak to start at, I start at 380f which is 193c

I just saw in previous posts you said you have the solid valve, so why are you using gauze at all? Are you not vaping dry herb?

I have the solid valve too it's the piece of metal that the gauze with the hole slides up and down and you can compac your herb down with it,I don't put that much in maybe quater tho I have put small sprinkles added In after each heat,it was something I seen sombidy mention earlier on this thread.

I will make it a bit easier I will switch mines to Fahrenheit lol :peace:

Yes dry herb,I pit in I'm the filling chamber the put in the chamber insert, that's the way the instructions have told me that I got with my cano unless I'm doing something completely wrong ? Lol

Sorry, when you said gauze I thought you meant the thick metal pad that you need to use with the easy valve if you don't fill it or for vaping liquids, but it sounds like you're talking about the top screen.

You shouldn't compact your herb with that thing, just press it down until it's just over the herb without compressing it. I normally look at how full it is and then push it down until I estimate it's just over without compacting it.

Since you have the solid valve, about how much do you fill it? I fill mine about half way.

Yeah I had realised when I went thru the manual  again I was calling the screen 'Gauze',I just always associate them with pipes and bongs lol

No I don't compact it down I make sure theirs room for the herb to move about,if that's the right term,

Probably a bit less than half,I empty my AVB (into a jar) after 3 I don't know if that way to soon for the amount I put in,what about ? :peace:

Have you noticed any build up of a sticky substance on the screen holder ?

About as soon as I got up I tried turning on my Volcano just to see if yesterday's issue of it not turning on continues (I only vape at night) and it turned on fine. However a few hours later I again tried turning it on just to test it and like yesterday it refused to turn on, but instead of un/re-plugging it I just continued pressing a few times and it finally powered up.

Does it need a few seconds to "wake up" after several hours of being inactive but plugged in? I also wonder if it's not the button that's faulty and needs to be pressed a certain way for it to register.

Has anyone here with a Volcano Digit had the heat button not work at all or unreliably and is there any pattern to the issue? If this continues I'll second guess my decision of going digital, but I know from experience the classic model is very fragile due to the mechanical thermostat that's easily knocked out of alignment with a fall or bump against the knob.

Edit: After more testing I now was able to get it to both refuse to turn on and refuse to turn off, it seems likely I have a faulty heat button that works very intermittently, or is it common for the heat button to work intermittently on the Digit? They aren't the same types of buttons as on the classic.

solid valve, Classic model here, old school ftw

Classic w/Easy here

I prefer the dial really, but the digit is a bit more accurate at keeping the temp and it is exact temps which I do love.

I don't regret getting the classic but having the precision is cool.

Personally I think the classic looks nicer too

@vapeguy Hmm my friend has a digit and his works easy with every click no problem. You should either send it for repairs which I think will cost you shipping or open it and try to fix it? The reason I prefer the classic overall even though the digital is better at keeping the temp and easier to set the temp is that it's electromechanical so it "older technology" you might think but to me it's also more reliable simply since we haven't figured out digital things entirely as well

I had the Volcano classic two times before getting the digital for my 3rd time having a Volcano because the mechanical temp control on the classic is an extremely fragile mechanism and any drop or even just bumping the temp knob can get its calibration knocked way out. After barely more than a one foot fall my Volcano classic was rendered useless, but I was able to get the mechanism back into a usable range but the temps never lined up like before. The Volcano digit is both more accurate and much more durable as there aren't any fragile mechanisms inside. Simple falls and bumps won't affect the temperature accuracy of the digital like it does on the classic.

Also not sure what you mean by we haven't figured digital things out, digital things have existed for several decades and are extremely reliable.

BTW my Volcano issue has nothing to do with the fact its digital, it's the button itself that's faulty.

Your post is making me want to own a digital just so I know what my temp is
