Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

What an awesome thread! I have been scouring it ever since I recieved and amazing gift from another member and man is there a lot to learn.

I put in an order for a few more carts for a minicron and when the package arrived I found it contained a complete omicron 2.5 package with it! A purple one at that (my favorite color). Man this company knows how to keep new customers coming back! Anyway, to the questions!

1) I bought a gen 3 kiss cart and it is my understanding, this will not work with the omicron I recieved right? I also have a kiss mini, is this compatible with the 2.5?

2) the charger that came with the omicron is the same as the li ion one they sell, will this charge batteries from other vapes, specifically the Arizer Air?

3) What is the need to have item for this version? What's do you guys like using the best with these vapes?

We never certified the 14650 battery that your Omicron takes with the Gen 3 KISS cart because it will cause a large voltage drop initially when you press the button, but if you give it a few seconds of extra warm up time, it might work. Try it out and let us know!

The included charger can charge many 14mm and 18mm lithium ion batteries to 4.2 volts, but we haven't tested any (and therefore can't suggest using this charger with any besides the ones we sell at w9tech.com.) It's a single channel, two bay unit, so only paired cells can be charged simultaneously. Consult the manufacturer of your other vaporizers for suggestions on battery charging solutions. (I do believe Arizer suggests using the Air itself to charge its batteries instead of a third party charger.)

Personaly I like the KISS Globe, Grade 2 Ti single coil for it, KISS Mini, and 2nd gen KISS cartridges in the "On Sale" category. Be sure to select Omicron fitment, 601 mod :)

I will definitely try out the gen 3 kiss cart, just as soon as I get my hands on some product! I'm a complete newb with this stuff so I'm excited to get to learning.

Looking at the on sale category It looks like the 2nd gen kiss carts are sold out for the omicron? I see the regular kiss carts but not the 2nd gen.

Edit: A couple more questions. Will the gen 3'kiss cats work on a minicron? Also, I realized that while the gen 2 kiss 610 mods are out of stock I could just order an adaptor to you with the omicron correct?

Single wick gen 3 kiss is my suggestion for the Minicron. Double wick works better on our 18mm battery units like the V4 Omicron, Persei, and 8.

As far as adapter, sure can. If you order 510 mod and use a 601 adapter your carts may work down the line if you choose to get a newer Omicron.

I've been trying out the current ac at 16w and that's been pretty good. I'll have to try the other wattages the omi runs at. I'm guessing it will run the dual coil kiss gen 3 as well so it might be my new event vape.

What's the pulsing strategy? On my current setup, I just hold the button to the end of the hit and lay of for the last second or two. How are you pulsing and whats the benefit?

Heat chases oils away, so by using ~5 second pulses you regulate the temperature at the wire and ensure great flavor, and longer coil life then if you ride the button!

If you saturated the black wicks of our coils by melting oils inside them, this also ensures they have a moment to supply oil to the wire so your next pulse is tasty, too.

I notice that too with pulsing vs riding. Giving it that break seems to make a difference, heat chasing the oil away makes sense to me. That pause let's the coil get coated again.

When it's really low I do 3 on, 3 off, 3 on. At higher w's I do slightly longer pulses until I start getting vapor and then shorter ones to keep the vapor going.

I never got an answer on the makeup of the classic carts, the stainless steel ones..

Can anyone chime in?

I'm sorry for missing your question, @530rasta
Hello. I was curious if you guys could help explain how the 'essential oil vaporizer cartridge' works?

Is it a silica wick and nichrome? Or is it ceramic and ti? Or something else? Just looking for info if you could help out.

Cheers!
The essential oil cartridge is loaded by placing a fill tool into the top. This tool has a bridge to cover the air tube so you can melt oils inside the cartridge and they feed down along the outer walls. They will encounter a bulk oil heater which is a nichrome heating wire wrapped around a ceramic base. This heats the oils and walls of the cart to promote oils feeding down into the vaporization element. Located beneath the bulk heater is a second nichrome wire heating element wrapped around a silica wick, which wicks the warmed oils from the bulk heater into the main heater. When you apply power, both heaters activate and vaporize your oil, sending the vapor up the center air tube.

I placed an order for an Omicron 4 on Monday from Puffitup. It's supposed to arrive today and I was getting excited to give it a try. Then this morning I received an email from Randy at PIU telling me that there is a recall on all Omicron 4 batteries because of a possible defect?

Apparently there will be a trade-in program started by Monday and Randy will be sending some free atomizers for the inconvenience.

I guess what I'm wondering is if I can at least give it a try this weekend or if it's potentially dangerous to even use the battery? Maybe @SamuraiSam has some more detailed info?

@lazylightning we have several omicron v4's in our shop that we are using and have no issues. If you use your Omicron there shouldn't be any problems however if you notice anything out of the ordinary please stop using your vape. We are working with w9 now to get these batteries replaced and will have more info available soon. Also we are more than happy to buy back any vape if that is preferred. I'm very sorry about the inconvenience, we are working on this now to get a solution as quick as humanly possible.

We want to replace the batteries as a precautionary measure, we have had very few reports of any malfunctions. The Omicron vape is awesome, we want yours to be fully functional for a long, long time.

Thanks @PuffItUp! Since I've never used an Omicron before, I'm not completely sure what is considered ordinary function. What would be "out of the ordinary"?

I'm confident PIU will make the battery replacement process as painless as possible. Consistently incredible support is why I bought from PIU!

So what's the defect?

It isn't a defect but more of a precaution, after the initial batch was manufactured we found out that we can make it better and more reliable, and decided to go this route and exchange everyone who has one and replace all the batteries in the current batch.

For those of us in process of upgrading that haven't shipped yet, will they be the replaced/upgraded battery? Do you have the fixes in house?
