Custom 3D printed Widgets - Delta 3D Studios

I have a request for 3D printed silicone Keck / glass clip. I would like it to snap all the way around onto the lip of female fitting and allow the male fitting to slide through until the silicone snaps around it holding it firmly in place. Should be so much easier to use than a metal or plastic type clip. No chance of breaking the clip or the glass using silicone. I am mostly interested in 18mm, but it would work with all other sizes as well.

Thanks

Reading the (enthusiastic!) comments on the Waterpipe Adapter for the Pax2, I've found that a user use it successfully with a glass tube:

" I purchased this as a pipe attachment but have been using it as a mouthpiece with a straight glass tube(can also use fittings from my other vapes) and its AWESOME! Just what my pax2 was missing."

Since in the Pax2 the production of vapor is a sort of extraction... I think it's a great idea.
So I was wondering if you have tested this application, and anyway, I wish to know the diameter of the adapter hole to see if I've got something that could fit... Thanks!

I do not want you to think that I am persecuting you, Ratchett..! But I was talking about your products with some US guys that (it must be said) don't know your silicone creations and are very wary about 2 points (regarding the waterpipe adapters):
1- the smell/taste (but as you say in your website, once the item is "cured" this is not a concern)
2- the cleaning (but I thought that a non-stick material could be easily cleaned... and maybe with the effect of cold, the resin simply peels off by... squeezing the adapter?).
What can you say about that?

As always, thanks for your time.

No worries, I always attempt to be as transparent as possible about the materials I use and the safety of them. MSDS product sheets are available upon request

1) Smell/Taste - I use a high grade aquarium grade silicone which is RTV cured (room temperature vulcanized). The vinegar (acetic acid) smell is a byproduct of the curing process. Normally I try to manufacture my adapters in advance so the smell is completely gone. However I have recently been selling several silicone adapters faster than I can make more. Therefore I have been shipping some silicone before it's had time to fully "air out" and finish curing. I've only ever had one complaint from a customer who lived in the mountains at high elevation in a very dry climate who mentioned it took many weeks for the smell to dissipate (we discovered that a cup of water helps accelerate the curing process - as such all silicone receives at least a 6-24 hour bath prior to shipping)

2) Cleaning - I've never heard any complaints about cleaning my adapters. You can drop them in pure ISO alcohol, soak with PBW, or hell toss them in hot boiling water.

FYI for anyone interested in testing one of my Silicone adapters but not quite ready to purchase one - I am now offering a limited selection of FREE "B-Stock" silicone adapters with any store purchase over $10 (limit one per customer please).

In other news, I'd like to announce two new products:

Introducing the Doob Tube Funnel!

IMG_7340__14617.1455841356.1280.1280.JPG

Funnel was designed with a friction-fit so you can hold the funnel+tube one handed.

Lastly, a Large Tapered Rubber Plug

I've been meaning to list this plug for over a year now. It's designed to fit large mouthpieces on bubblers and waterpipes. Looking for bigger? I also have a JUMBO tapered rubber plug which I'm too lazy to list right now haha

X2 to what Ratchett said.
1. virtually no smell after cured. I just went down and smelled my daily driver Song. I could detect zero smell, except for slight cannabis smell from 2 days use since last cleaning. And I held it right up to my nose, in my nose LOL.
2. any cleaning method works. If cleaning Songs by themselves I use hot water and Dawn dish soap.
If I'm cleaning glass with PBW (powdered brewery wash) I just do Song with that. Easy peezy as any method works.

GREAT. So if you can put a b-stock Pax2 Waterpipe adapter on my order, I think I'll give it to a friend, that I've recently initiated to vaping... Here where I live vaporization is not so popular... but from the reactions I've seen, could be contagious!
Thanks Ratchett! Thanks MinnBobber!

And now I'm going to reply to the wary guys... since my word (you know... the word of a novice has no weight with the "experts") wasn't enough!

Love the doob tube funnel. Used scientific glass funnels to load my doob tubes and it can be quite awkward

Hi ratchett, any plans for an herbalizer song v.3 anytime soon?
...........................................................................
Would that be a V 3 with an "in between length" sideskirt, that would hold a miniVAP Flexicone module securely in place on the bottom only Herbie chamber??

Or what??

Hi ratchett, any plans for an herbalizer song v.3 anytime soon?
Plans yes, soon, not exactly. I've got a LOT of exciting new products coming out soon, but not for the Herbalizer. However the Herbalizer v3 adapter may be released in a new rigid high-temperature vapor safe material, so there's that :brow:

On that note I am happy to report that I am teaming up with a CNC hobbyist (he also does it full time for the military), who will help me manufacture some new inventions out of high-temperature materials which I cannot currently 3D print. This means I will be releasing a slew of inventions I have designed, but couldn't "publish" because I had no economical way to manufacture those inventions.

Yes, that's the general idea. Although I was also planning on making it an 18mm only since 14mm didn't seem as popular on the Herbalizer

No, I thought I read rumors about v3 but must have been vaped.

Vapetrees

Vaped Out
Ordered some stuff for my GH and it came a day early. Also, thanks for gifting me the mighty V2 water adapter. It's really nice of you to give away things you couldn't sell but still work. The adapter I got just has a chunk missing but doesn't affect performance at all. Thank you @Ratchett

Delta3dstudios is the first place I check for accessories when I get a new vape!
 That's what I like to hear! Keeps me motivated to keep inventing and searching for new vaporizers. If only I had more TIME to invent everything I wanted. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day either!

Super bummed I went to place my order as I've been holding off for more funds and I go to add my free b stock mighty cu v2 and it's the only one not available now:cry:..so now it's wait for more funds til I can place my order..I'm super broke at the moment..lol

 Don't worry, I'm always creating new B-Stock, check back next week and I'll probably have more available. Shoot me a PM before you place your next order, I'm sure I'll have one saved for ya ;)

What ever happened with that four way scoop, stir, poke, etc tool you had some mock ups of a few months back?
You guys always spoil my surprises! :disgust:

Long story short - my Scoop-N-Poke and Scoop-N-Stir scoop models are literally pushing the limits of what shapeways can 3D print - those two models slipped through the approval process and were printed successfully (passing the review stage for future orders). Every other "Scoop-N-*" design I've tried to submit ever since has been rejected at the model inspection stage after ordering. I have complained multiple times ("Look - it's the same damn scoop as my Scoop-n-poke - I KNOW YOU CAN PRINT IT") - but they won't listen to me. As such I needed to redesign a new scoop model which would meet their minimum wall-thickness guidelines.

The good news is that I recently finished my new design and, I do have a new Scoop-N-* tool which was recently accepted by the Shapeways review team!!! I'm currently waiting on the first new prototype to ship next week so I can test the redesigned scoop shape and "publish" it.

Once I've got the new scoop design which I'm comfortable with (and I know will be accepted), I will begin pumping out a bunch of different designs, including the 4-way tool.

On another note, from now on I will be stocking the Stainless Steel finish of my metal tools exclusively. Those wishing to purchase other finishes such as Bronze or Gold will need to purchase direct through my shapeways store (links coming soon).

(Those interested in purchasing a scoop-n-stir should check out my store right now - I'm running a special sale on Golden Scoop-N-Stirs while supplies last!)

Hahaha sorry!

Thanks for the explanation, sorry to hear that they're being difficult. I'm very excited about your tools to come though. Right now the scoop-n-stir fits all my needs but I will definitely purchase the 4 way tool because why the hell not. And I like telling people it's 3D printed when they use it.

Gotta get my hands on bronze this time! I know we were gonna do a trade way back but then life happened and I didn't get on here for months.

Well well... I've got my Pax2 Water Pipe adapter today... but you know what? I don't have a water pipe. I was planning to use it directly as a mouthpiece, or with a short glass tube... IT WORKS GREAT! Air flow is increased, vapor tastes better, and now I can finally rip my pax for real.
In one word: NECESSARY.

Evening All!

I'm still working on a bunch of new inventions, but I've got one recently published to my store I wanted to share - Introducing the Pax2 Scoop-N-Tamp tool!
IMG_7361__10346.1458772334.1280.1280.JPG

It's taken me months of multiple rejected orders before I finally arrived at this design which was approved! I'm currently taking preorders, expecting to begin shipping in two weeks.
