Hello to the FC community

I'm looking to purchase a reliable portable vaporizer and as I see the firefly is one of those without the reliability I am looking for.
The use of the vaporizer is for dry herbs tobacco and traditional hash if there's one that I can mix tobacco and hash that's the one for me.
I'm new to vaporizer and it is going to be my first one.
Thanks in advance.

I live in Europe so the zion isn't shipped outside the US what about the firefly?
I would not consider the Firefly as a reliable unit. Many members had to use warranty for replacement units. If reliability were not a factor, I'd recommend the Mighty or Crafty, which have been considered the top 2 performing portables by many here.

Is butane an option, I haven't seen anything more reliable than a Genie.

I can't confirm Firewood for reliability, especially if you're out of country. It requires technique and I've gone through a couple others already.

There will be a RBT vape available in Europe. The Single battery unit on the site is available for EU purchase. Same great tech used in the heater in a smaller unregulated package.

@allareas - I would consider the Arizer Air. It is a very nice vaporizer from a well known company. It and it's older brother the Solo are very well known (and liked) on this site. The Air has replaceable stems and standard replaceable 18650 batteries. There are also many aftermarket stems to change the performance of the vaporizer - wooden stems, bent stems, increased airflow stems, waterpipe adapter stems, etc.

In my mind, look no further than the Air for your first vaporizer. It's a great "beginner vape" you can easily learn how to use, and it performs pretty damn well for the price, and you can buy spare batteries online so you'd never run out of juice while away from an outlet.

Right now they're going for around $165 USD with a coupon code, so make sure you find the best price online for a European model.

In Europe the price is almost 240$ (219€) and the question is can I combine traditional hash with tobacco or weed?

It's not a convection vape either. I'm not really sure a convection vape would be suited for Tobacco though. I definitely don't know anyone who ever wanted to rip their tobacco through one large bong rip or something, which is more convection style.

Seems like you are looking for a large conductive oven you can throw a lot of material in and puff away till the flavor is gone?

Everyone recommending rbt vapes arent they still pre order only? And not available directly to europe.

If you want the best vape for traditional hash get a vapman. It is flame powered but it is great with trad hash. Have a look on here for threads re trad hash and youll see the vm gets a lot of love.

I have a Firefly that is almost 2 years old now, and works fine. Not everyone has been so lucky, but bear in mind that most reports on the internet are going to be complaints, and are probably 1% of owners.

I would recommend the Vapman, though. It is a torch vape, so has an abundance of power and heat, something that e-units fall short on. It does hash or flowers brilliantly, and with a water unit, hits as hard as a desktop.

Yup. You are in Europe. Vapman is Swiss, a total beast, and if you were previously a combuster, a lighter vape like the Vapman is a really good choice.

Tiny chamber though. Don't know if that is a issue for tobacco use. But as mentioned, everyone around here who knows about Euro style hash is absolutely in love with using it through the Vapman.

It is a conduction vape.

@allareas, i have not tried vaping tobacco with hash but i warn you of two things:

1. i tried vaping street hash, no tobacco and got a huge headache so if you plan on vaping hash, make sure is top quality. The type of hash that either crumbles in your hand without heating and wasn't pressed or that thick gluey dark morocan hash.

2. Tobaco has a vaping temperature of roughly 190C, im not sure if it is okay to go until 220C-230ºC, plus it is really easy to over indulge with tobacco since it is WAY more powerfull to vape tobacco than to smoke it.
And a nicotine high is not pleasant at all if you over use it.

So, i'd strongly advise you to research for people who have done the same and their results, but i'm guessing you should vape them separately.

Convection works better with tobacco and conduction works better with hash. Still, i'd prefer a convection unit if i planned to do both like you want.

I'd use a unit that you could swap the setup to just herbs without using exactly the same material or material that easily cleans thoroughly. I wouldn't use any vapes that have wood or plastics in the vapor airway.

Since you want convection portable, i'd say the Lotus is your best bet. Perhaps the hammer is an even better bet as well since you can use different stems.

I'd steer away from firefly, and vapman in this instance, especially since you plan on trying tobacco with it.

But, to be honest, i wouldn't mix them in the same session. Vaping hash is VERY sedative, much more than smoking it, if you had tobacco you'll maximize the effects to a point it might be too much.
And vaped tobaco leaves a strong taste in your vaporizer from what i've read.

The Vapcap is also a good choice for tobacco. For the pricepoint ($30), it's a good way to figure out if you even like vaping tobacco. And with it's glass, it's easier to clean and gives a cleaner taste. You can even stick a glass MFLB stem through the silicone mouthpiece and create an all glass pathway.

I find my Vapman is too precious to put tobacco in it. Unless you want to dedicate it to Tobacco because the wood will pick up the tobacco smell.

Yes, forgot about the vapcap. Perhaps a cheap and happy medium to start from?

Are these available yet or still pre-order?

I'll second @bounce5 's suggestion. I have a Titanium and wood vapcap, and it works very well with tobacco, flowers, and concentrates, alone and in combination.

My vapcap does have a permanent scent due to the wood in the airpath, but I find it's worth that drawback to have something I can comfortably hold in my teeth. There are other models currently available with a more inert airpath, where the permanently acquired scent wouldn't be an issue.

A few Firewood 3.0 units have been shipped to Europe afaik so it's definitely an option. It's a reliable Vape and while some people take a bit to figure it out at first most seem to be able to get satisfying results within their first or second attempts. Check out the recent pages of the Firewood thread if you're interested in it. It's out of stock frequently but also tends to be restocked about 2 times a week around 7ish eastern standard time.

I'm really surprised that not more people here are pointing out that vaping herbal tobacco is not a great idea at all.

And if he MUST consume nicotine instead of quitting, then better as an E-liquid or better still Nicotine patches or similar. NO?

Then he can use herbal vapes for weed or hash.

And I'm sorry but people recommending the Firewood and Zion; with all due respect I think they look like something made in my dads shed.

Vapman is supposed to be good for hash. Like the Lotus.

I have the Arizer Air and Solo, vapman, firewood etc. If I could only have one portable vaporizer, given that the Zion isn't available in Europe, I'd get the Haze. It's very reliable and comes with a 10 year warranty and works with a variety of material. I only use herbs but others have used concentrates etc. You can also fill one compartment with herbs and the second with something else and immediately switch from one to another.

Haze not a bad idea at all in this situation

@seaofgreens Nicotine vaporises at 95c i believe. Where as hash/weed is 160 - 210c. So he can not mix his tobacco with weed or hash in a herbal vaporiser. If he so required the Nic at the same time as the THC and CBD then he could make a home made Canna+Nic-E-juice and use an e-cig mod. But not in a herbal vape at the same time.

If he has to use tobacco then the tobacco would have to be certified organic. Vaping herbal tobacco is much stronger than smoking it. Nicotine is a poison. And can make you feel sick very easily. Did you know the amount of nicotine in a single cigarette, would kill you if injected? I assume it is not a popular method for this reason.

Alternatively he can have a herbal vape for weed and hash and an e-cig for nicotine.

Nicotine is highly addictive and has no benefits. And IMO he is best advised to quit.

EDIT: and the flavour of tobacco taints the vaporiser.

The Zion looks like a great vaporizer, taste, efficiency, and power... plus it runs on batteries.

But, it won't offer anymore than the Lotus, Vapman, or vapcap offer already.
