... what is the most effective way to clean the HA chamber? ...
I invert the HA to avoid dripping in air holes. Then I wet paper towels (one at a time) with ISO to make wads of appropriate size to fit chamber snugly, contacting the bottom (at top due to being inverted) and sides. Rotate/wipe repeatedly until clean. Don't know if it's the most effective way but it works well here. :)

I do the same as Amoreena, except I use a Q-tip, or sponge tipped swab.

After air drying it, I heat it up empty and hook up the pump to run some heated air through it for a few minutes, before I use it, to make sure all the iso and any residues are gone.

I suggest you clean it regularly, as a clean core and pieces gives the best tastes of your herbs.

Don't forget the air intake.... especially if you are like me and use your hA inverted. I guess back pressure or something causes the vapour to soil the stainless steel I can see in the intake. I just use an ISO q-tip and jam it in there (when cold) and you can see how soiled it can get. After a couple of pokes (giggity!) it's all clean, and then I do as mentioned above and run the pump through it.

The only thing that kind of bothers me with respect to the heating chamber, is I notice that on my older hA (and newer) that the "finish" or powder coat or whatever it is kind of comes off....i've noticed some grey colour on my iso qtip. No big deal for me really since I don't just pack the chamber, but rather mainly use a gong.

Both hA's have been collecting dust since I received my Herbalizer, but I still love them like my babies and will always have a hA!

A while ago I had a mishap doing wax and got oil all the way down until it was leaking out of my air intake. I cleaned that and the top chamber with a lot of iso qtips. So far I haven't noticed any off taste or drop in efficiency. I'm always a little worried there's some wax on the tube inside or maybe pooled below the air intake. I've never tried to open it up to look and I'm not sure if I could. After being cleaned it didn't seem to affect it negatively so I didn't try too hard.

Completely forgot about the ceramic disc since I stopped using the tong in favour of the gong. I think I may need to purchase some in the name of science! Anyone know a good spot to pick these up?

Was loving the hA again last night, it has retired my HERBALIZER which I had a brief short infatuation with over the past week! Back to the OG Herbie and lovin it!

$12 ceramic screens:
http://www.vaporwarehouse.com/site/vaporbrothers-whip-screens-ceramic.html

I use them when I'm dumping in all the loose stuff in my jar. Putting that on top helps keep the mp screen clean. Though you could remove that and just always put the ceramic screen on top. Most people use it to keep the material near the jets while the ha is upside down.

Damn, I'm really liking the v3. All the best features of the elite minus the digital part for almost the same price as the 2.2. The pump is different, but I don't do bags anyways. I'm thinking about grabbing this. My favorite part is "Also features a raised top to allow a higher capacity chamber". Was anybody not able to fit enough in there before?

I've put over a gram of grinded product into the HA2.2 and 7 people in the room were knocked out. The capacity of the HerbalAire was never a problem to me... That was with the TonG/ Balloon mouthpiece attachment, the GonG attachment reduces the capacity.

I highly recommend the ceramic screens. They change the vape signature and it's quite pleasant imo. I haven't used them in a while (busy testing some other things), but I would say overall they make the vapor a little more thick, though depending how you use them. I've experimented using them in all sorts of ways, including putting 7 or 8 in the chamber with the stock MP and vaping just a tiny bit ground up, far away from the heater. It actually worked! (Though with 7-8 discs, it made the vapor less thick and the session longer, the extra ceramic changing the heat signature). One of the great things about using the discs is that you can easily make sure the load is secured in a certain spot in the chamber, whether upside down or not. Just add enough discs until it fits snugly with the rest of the load.

My favorite way to use them was to just take two, an e-nano basket screen, and the TonG. I'd put the basket screen on the bottom of the HA chamber, then place a ceramic on top of that, then the load, then another ceramic on top. It becomes like a suspended ceramic bowl for the HA. This is with the TonG, making sure not to pack it too hard because the weed will get stuck to the hot ceramic, making it harder to clean and/or the ceramic may get damaged from being pressed in too hard to the basket screen (I make it so everything fits snugly, but not that it takes a lot of force to close). Another good way to use it is just with a 1 ceramic disc on the bottom, weed, 3 discs on top, and the TonG on top of that.

A couple words of caution, they are very porous so when cleaning them with ISO make sure to give them some dry heat in the HA before using, to make sure all the ISO is evaporated. I put the disc in after cleaning and blow in the intake hole, thus giving it a hot air bath. If I were buying a new set, I would also be a little more careful with them. Once you've used them with oil for instance, they are very hard to get back to their new quality. Even for just flower, it could be a good idea to put in some loose screens in between them and the load. The DBV screens I have fit perfectly in the HA chamber and sometimes I'll line the ceramics with a couple of steel screens. If I had done that always, I'm sure those discs would be looking pretty good. In any case, ceramic isn't something that lasts forever in this application, and $12 ain't much for a nice addition to the vaporizer. I'll be buying a new set for myself in the near future.

Another cool thing about them is that you can take the screen out the TonG or regular MP. Since the discs are screens themselves, it makes for a lot less maintenance of the unit.

edit: Keep remembering good things about the discs: If you load the unit when it's fully heated, and put the discs in as a "ceramic bowl", it lets you load the weed in without exposing it to as much initial heat, as the room temperature discs take a while to heat up, ceramic having a different heat curve than say aluminum.

Agreed. They got here this afternoon. I used one on top of a stainless steel screen which was directly on top of the load. Really like the way it held things together. Looked like thicker vapor. I seemed to get more buzzed (off-topic bump -- vaping Super Silver Haze :peace:) but that could've been a coincidence of timing. Will know better when used more times but believe adding ceramic screens was a good decision.

My thanks to you and@StormyPinkness for your advice. :)

Have used a ceramic screen (on top of a stainless steel screen) to compress single solid buds, tiny buds, and shake of various strains. I'm seeing increased vapor production overall and a cleaner mouthpiece. Will always use them from now on.

.625" ceramic screens are a snug fit in the hA's crucible: perfect. However, Vaporbrothers' .625" stainless steel screens are too big. The stainless screens I already have/use are a slightly smaller diameter. So it's a waste to get VB's stainless screens for hA crucibles if anyone is considering that.

I also have a new H3 on the way. Looking forward to testing the new version and I'll definitely be writing a detailed review once I get a good enough grasp of what the new unit is offering.

Doesn't look like mine will arrive until Tuesday at the earliest because we have a long weekend coming up in Ontario, Canada.

I'd love to hear a comparison of it vs the 2.2, I'm guessing they should be pretty much the same. Unless I'm wrong the elite vs 2.2 comparisons sound like they are pretty similar taste/vapor wise.

I am still on the fence about ordering an h3. I love the company and have always been on the lookout for more of their stuff to buy, but the elite just wasn't an upgrade I needed. The h3 looks perfect for me though, I've been trying to justify buying it to myself daily.

I am expecting the H3 to perform the same as the H2.2 and Elite. I guess the one thing about the herbalAire family is they all use the same engine so you get the same quality extraction from all the units. The H2.2 extracts the same as the Elite and the H3 should perform as well as both its predecessors.

It looks like the main differences between the H2.2 and the H3 are the TonG/mouthpiece which also apparently has a larger capacity(although I assume this is when using it without the crucible) and the pump powered off the main unit (you don't need two free plugs in the wall, just one). Basically features the Elite has without the digital temperature and automatic pump timer/shut-off.

Is this deserving of its own thread now that a new model has come out?

@bobo305 :

HerbalAire + TonG + D020-D (from www.dhgate.com/store/sunshinesmokeshop)

Here's a recent vid (not mine) of the D020-D + HA in action:

The TonG is contoured to fit either 14 or 18 mm female glass, iirc.

The f-bomb bubbler in either 14 or 18 mm female should work as well, afaik.

Good luck, and hopefully you'll be using your HA in this mode, where it shines the most, imo.

can someone recommend a decent bubbler to use with my ha 2.2 and tong?

Not sure if this has ever been said, or if its not a good practice, but I was planning on taking the Herbalaire out the other day, never ended up doing it, but I wanted to use water, and a whip, but I was traveling and didn't want to load up needless accessories.

If you pop the black pieces off the stock whip, the whip fits damn near perfectly as a "direct inject" into a 14 mm male. Fits all my 14mm male pieces like a glove, but one of my adapters is a bit tighter squeeze.

None of my pieces other than one allow me to really use the HA inverted because of clearance of either the piece or my big ol forehead :D but I didn't like having to pull it off inverted the one I was able to try it with. Worked fantastically in terms of vapor, but I felt like I was gonna pull the teflong mouthpiece off (or one of the adapters I was using....I need some kek clips)

Thanks for all the advice awhile back guys, I was able to easily clean my Teflon piece and pop out the screen with ease, just used the dabber they give you! In general it is a lot cleaner now than it was, and is pretty easy to keep clean if you maintain it. (I haven't used it much since, so it's still pretty clean!)

Today, I was feeling crazy, so I got .5 nug, melted some wax down, dipped it and rolled the nug, dipped and rolled in kief. I did this before and it was awesome, this is a much bigger one! But, the HA is perfect for vaping "moonrocks" or caviar IMO, since you can just stuff the whole thing in. Bout to load it up soon and pop in Goodfellas...should be a good night!
