Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

The first run of Magic Flight Orbiters actually offered a lifetime warranty on those. Not sure how/why they offered that and will pull it off.

MFLB is a great example of a company that does customer service perfectly. They cover literally everything, including total negligent abuse. You can literally stab through the screen intentionally and get a totally free replacement mailed to you. Don't even need to pay shipping.

What did VapeXhale do?

They offered me a one-time use 20% off coupon. 30 bucks. If $150 worth of glass doesn't stand a week and you won't do jack about it, why would I buy another one?

If they did something, a substantial discount, a replacement, a repair, SOMETHING, I would have continued buying their products. WOULD have.

Will a standard water pipe work with some silicone tubing?
Yes provided you have an 18 mm adapter to put on the EVO too connect your tubing to.

Can you turn it up side down?
Yes, but from my experience it works better standing upright. YMMV, plenty use it inverted.

I hope I will have fun with the EVO.
You will!

@zombied , I have a question. Hypothetical. I just got this piece last week. I have multiple log vapes, so this isn't perfect, but you can see how the general setup is.
cxVRUl9.jpg

If I put the EVO on there inverted, OR even a bigger log (I know from experience ;) ) the weight of the vape is heavier than the rest of the piece and pulls it down.

If I wasn't holding my bigger log carefully, and gently let it go to test the weight......if I just let go of it, the weight would have brought the glass down on the table and it would bust the joint.

If that happens, and the joint is busted, should I go back to the guy who blew this and request another one free of charge? I've had this piece 8 days, so if I wasn't careful, it would have broken in under a week.....so, should I ask him to blow me a new piece free of charge in this new hypothetical scenario?

I realize from a few FC members I'm a light weight compared to most on here?
1 gram COLAS + 0.25 SHATTER is my daily dose.
I guess I must increase my dosage?

Hopefully the EVO will help me achieve a Higher consumption!

That piece doesn't look like it's going to tip over and break on its own accord while it's just sitting idle on the table, which is a valid concern and important feedback for a customer forward company.

It also sounded like he wasn't necessarily asking for a free replacement but felt that he was basically told to go pound sand. If your piece breaks you're going to take it back to your blower and he's going to fix it if he can. He may have pity on you and throw you a freebie, or a low cost resolution, or some standard rate, but what he isn't likely to do (at least in my personal decades of experience breaking glass) is charge you full price a few days after he sold you a piece. Right or not, no customer is going to leave the shop with a good taste in his mouth after that.

In any case, what's really concerning to me are these posts popping up claiming the glass for this sale is potentially subpar. I do wish the sale had included a hydrafoot (and confused why they aren't included with an HT purchase) but that's neither here nor there other than to say there should be some red lettering pointing to one to at least reduce these types of incidents from occurring in the first place.

You are not officially a cloud evo "Jedi" until you have shattered a hydra tube and coped with the loss in a way satisfactory to a master
Yeah maybe I'll get time to post all my broken Hydratubes today! Maybe that'll help some of us cope with the loss once we realize we are not alone! My first Hydratube i broke was a Swagger Turbine(still have all my broken tubes) and it was perfect(until it broke). It's glass! Coffee mugs, coffee pots, phone screens, tv screens, windshields, Windows, eyeglasses, I don't care what glass it is,impact at the right angle will crack or shatter it. Unless it explodes on
touch or sight I don't see how it's the manufacturers fault when we the consumers knowingly purchased fragile items!

Has there been any talk of making an all glass herb basket?

Can you stuff a nail with herb?

Vxl has sent me 3 new hydratubes because of the glass breaking that was NOT my fault..they are more than willi g to make things right but not if its the fault of the consumer who breaks the glass..As ive stated my pieces came flawed and they sent me a 2nd one and i used them until they further broke and vxl did they above and beyond thing and sent me a 3rd. But i bever knocked mine over and broke it or any type of my fault. They have been amazingly top notch for me and i think even offeri g the warranty after the fact is awesome and if i recall that warranty is good on a broken bamboo as well??

I bought one of the new tubes. It is not subpar glass and is made really well. The joint on the mp is nice and thick no flaws in and it hits great. There is no need for a hydra foot with this new design. The base is just as wide as the hydra foot so it wouldn't be adding any extra stability using one.

bummer, threw a turbine in my cart and it appears the tubes are not eligible for valentines day discount.

For flowers you need that mesh to hold it in when the air passes. Otherwise you just end up with a bunch of ground flower in your HT. Try using an ELB without the cap for an example if you don't believe...

I have yet to hear of a glass blower skilled enough to make a fine mesh glass. If one did, it would be fairly brittle.

As for stuffing a nail with flowers, I wouldn't recommend it. The temp down by the heating element (the depth where the nail rests) is higher than where the ELB sits. Flowers can combust down there. Found this out when I was high & the cap fell off my ELB, with a bunch of flower sticking to the resin at the top of the HT joint. THere was a lot, so I tried it in a nail to see what would happen. My place smelled like an ash tray full of roaches.

@ataxian  hey man if those dosages make you a lightweight, then I'm damn near weightless! If anything, I think the EVO has the potential to even lower it!

@BL4zD

You are 100% correct, I can set that piece on a table, and it will not just fall over and break.
My point is that, if the guy took the Hydratube off the Cloud EVO, and set it on the table/hydrafoot, it would 100% not just fall over and break as well. The weight of that mouthpiece, is not enough to pull the entire hydratube down on its side. Countless users, set their sidecar hydratubes down, with and without hydrafeet, and they aren't posting here about how theirs just magically tipped over..

But, if you mean that the glass just doesn't look like it will tip over period, you are 100% wrong.
HKz7XsY.jpg
Notice my hand? I wasn't going to upload this photo because it's kind of crappy. But, if I just stuck that log on their, without my hand; it will all tilt to the right. All I had to do was remove my hand OFF the log vape for it to start tipping. If I were to just stick the vape on quickly, and quickly let go, the weight of the vape would bring it down. It may or may not break the glass, as that is dependent on the surface it's falling on and the angle, but it will tip over and land on the green joint part no question. Sorry, I'm not going to take an example video showing how when I slowly move my hand away, the glass bong and vape immediately to the right.....and I'm certainly not going to take one of me letting go of the vape quickly to test and see if the impact would shatter the glass :)

I think it should be mentioned too, I asked for some further clarification of "It basically tipped on it's side." He never parlayed any additional info. This is neither here nor there, but since I did ask how exactly it broke, and was given no further explanation, that kind of leads me to believe it was user error. Glass doesn't just "basically tip on its side."

If I took my hand off that vape above quickly, it would "basically tip on it's side." But the root cause of it is MY user error of not being careful with it. So, something somewhere, caused this to "basically tip on it's side."

I bought this from a glassblower, direct from the glassblower, and I do think he would make it right if something really unfortunate happened that was my fault within a few days of having it, but I don't think that's a fair comparison to make.

Broken Hydratube Guy did not buy direct from a glassblower. He essentially bought from a "headshop." (For lack of a better term here...) If I go into my Local Headshop, and buy a piece, and it breaks in a few days, should I go back into that headshop and ask to get some sort of comp because of it?

I wish I had known that to be kosher....I bought a $45 glass bubbler that broke after 24 hours. Was my own fault. I should have taken it back to the store and seen if I could of gotten a discount on another piece?

That sounds silly even writing. I chalked up my losses. It was a shame that I broke it after only a day, but ultimately, it wasn't their fault.

We can agree to disagree on the notion of them telling him to "go pound sand." They clearly have two types of warranties on their warranty page. There is clearly one that covers the accidental breaking of a Hydratube and one that does not. If anything, they were extra cordial about it by offering the 20% code. Then it's only $120 for the extended warranty. And, he'd have extra protection on his unit as well with that warranty, rather than just shelling out the money for a new tube. I don't know, I thought it was totally fair.

In any case, some tact and an a mindful approach is usually the best way to deal with CS. There were some other users who had problems with VXL. I don't know if I was maybe the only one who noticed, but (it seemd to me) that the people who came and posted about their problems without getting too emotional about it, tended to get their problems fixed up right quick and promptly.

I obviously don't know how the private interaction went with VXH. But, if he felt that the proposed solution was "insane" and that he thinks that VXH is trying to play him for stupid, ("I'm not stupid enough...) and that "I can get better quality glass at the gas station."

The whole post, in my opinion, read off as pretty whiny. If someone emailed me making it seem like it was my fault that you broke your glass, I would probably tell them to fuck right off. Lol. I'm not saying that he didn't approach it tactfully, but I do think that should be remembered while dealing with CS. I have a vivid example of another "whiney" post about a problem; & I could tell (or maybe baselessly assume ;) ) that they probably were not being the most polite and professional in dealing with VXH based on the posts here. They, in turn, didn't seem like they were getting the most professional CS from VXH. Cause and effect. Not saying that it's right certain customers would be treated better, but just saying cause and effect.

I'm diverging a bit.

I ultimately agree, my biggest "concern" with VXH at the moment is the seeming lack of a "standard." The tubes a few years back are much nicer than the ones now. Tubes getting shipped out that are cracked or have defects I don't believe is cool (nor am I saying that they are knowingly doing it...I used to work in shipping and I packaged/passed through fucked up products and packages all the time because I was a lazy shitty 17 year old, maybe their packaging department is similarly unenthused? )

I do think though, that for every "cracked" or "Broken" or "subpar" tube that there is likely someone out their with a perfectly fine functional one.

Not trying to be a douche or flammatory or anything like that, simply stating my opinion and thoughts on it. I do sincerely hope he gets it fixed up and working fine and I'm not without sympathy, but as I said in my first post, I felt it was a skewed viewpoint. This is the last I'll say on it.

I'm going to bust my EVO out after work today :) Friday is always the day for me, nothing like starting the weekend right like getting comatose on the couch! Supposed to be getting some pretty nice nugget today too, so should be a good weekend! Cheers to you all!

What I'd like is a glass basket with very fine holes and I would choose a chunkier grind over a finer grind in a stainless basket.

I finalized my order for a Turbine. Now the countdown begins...

Just a little rebuttal regarding my comment about my "cracked" HT. I recently sent it in for repair to my retailer .

I thought it had a crack as water was suddenly appearing in the overflow chamber-also it felt very restrictive to draw through.

A day after sending it in they message me - to let me know that it is faulty and they are replacing it with a new one when they get some stock in next week. I requested to wait a few weeks from now till they get the Hydrabomb back in stock , just found the turbine to restrictive for me.

Bit of a wait but that is amazing customer service, just happy to receive a working HT. Seriously thank you to @VapeFiend.com for being soo awesome and sorry for the long emails.

The quality of products may vary sometimes just like anything that is handmade-but I believe their customer service is always awesome.

So is everybody who decided to wait for the V-Day sale & blow off the limited edition Swagger HT's glad they waited for another once-in-a-lifetime sale?

Ha! lol, not so much of a sale but it's better than nothing. And yes, I would rather have anything from Swagger than a VXH Tube any day. I thought about buying it today but it looks like I might wait until next Christmas for a better sale. Although now that I see this Vday sale that Herbie in the Classifieds has me thinking...

If the deal was just a little sweeter like a vape adapter or Quartz nails I would probably do it. But when I know there may be $100 off later this year it's hard to pull the trigger for a couple of extra baskets and glass nails IMO.

Can any HT/glass experts tell me if the off center part of my Hydrabomb is something to be concerned about? Haven't been able to use it yet because I'm out of herb (epic fail, I know), airflow seems fine when I do a plain inhale, albeit makes a small stuttering noise. Maybe this is just one of the imperfections due to being hand made?

it won't impact the function except a mm of lower water column height

I would have rather a swagger than this sale too had I only known I was going to be in the market. As it was already, I was about to buy it the other day without even checking if a sale was coming up! That would have really sucked. No way am I waiting an entire year, though.

You could try emailing support and seeing if you can apply $50 dollar credit (the glass nails) toward a purchase of quartz nails for an additional $50 out of pocket. Guess it comes down to how badly you feel about saving $4/month.
