T-Break is short code for
Tolerance Break or T(HC)-Break.

These breaks will reset the CB receptors, (somewhat)

I combat tolerance issues by simply limiting myself to a single session , waiting all day, and abstaining until it's bedtime...

I have to have at very least one uptake of Cannabinoids per day to keep inflammation in check.
If the God damned gov. Would release the Schedule 1 status, we could replace pharms like Humira, Enbrel etc..(but that is for another thread)

This method has allowed me to partake in Cannabis daily for 2 decades without missing a single day...

And, I must admit...
When I do limit myself to the one bedtime session...

Damn, it is so rewarding,....

The days in which I get high all day long, the bedtime sesh loses it's magic.

You are very welcome ..

And.. I almost forgot....

Welcome to FuckCombustion!!

You're gonna love the community here, very family like, completely different than any other pot related forum I've engaged in. (Most every single one)

Always feel free to ask questions...
The only dumb question, is the question that is never asked.

SSV will last you years of glorious vapor production.

Thanks for the warm welcome Hashtag, I have quickly found myself checking this forum every day.
I am amazed by the all the different ways everyone mods and uses their vape.
If I end up with the spherical glass option I will try steama's mod.
Yunglerner, where do you get the ELB from. Also, has anyone tried the ceramic flavor disc sold by 7th floor? I ended up purchasing one with my SSV, but am still waiting for it in the mail.
I am curious to try the wax techniques shredder and yunglerner mentioned as well.

Again, welcome aboard!

You can use a basket screen in the same fashion as the ELB.

Extreme Q basket screen

Or EVO Easy Load Bowls (ELB)

I experimented with cutting even more of my whip for the last two nights...

Wow!! At first, I used it stock.... Recently cut about 1/4 off, improving vapor production.

Cut it in half...
DAMNNN!!!!
Lung busting hits.

Big thanks to @Tweak , killer advice.

I keep falling in love with my Vaporizer over and over again.

Mine arrived today and I'm breaking it in now. It seems to need to be turned up all the way to get a good hit.

Does wand = bowl?

About 3/4...

Yup it's the glass thingy that holds the weed.

I take it you have the standard wand and heater cover combo? If so it takes a bit of finess to use it. The other heater cover options work better for most, but many learn to use the standard set up.

I helped four people set their ssv with a standard wand heater cover combo, so even though mine is the ground glass, I've become familier with the standard.

It helps to load at least a half inch of ground herb, if not more. It helps to have your screen domed, with the dome outward toward the heater. Even better is to make a basket screen. This gets the load closer to the heater. It helps to make sure your heater post is fully extended in the heater cover. It's fairly easy to adjust, but carefully. It helps to make good contact between the wand and heater cover. It may help to rotate the wand to allow hot air from the heater to get to other areas of the load. It might help to have drier finer ground herb.

Most of these tips are in this thread. It might help to go back and skip through but read, or do a search on a subject. Or post here, most are happy to share experiences and preferences. Happy vaping!

Post a picture of your heater cover straight on, so we can see the heating element position..

Sometimes, the heating element is too low and needs adjusting.

Let us start there... You will Get the hang of it.

The heating element glows red hot, so I assume it is seated properly.

So far, I'm thinking the tabletop vapes waste more weed than the portable models.

I feel it is too variable to make a broad statement like that, like it varies much more on how much you load and use a particular device. I can load the same amount in my SSV and Pax 2 and achieve similar end results, I can also load more in one and less in the other and, based on technique, can get more from less (as an example, a full oven in a pax2 vs ~0.1g in the SSV w/DDave's mod) insofar as effects go.

I'm still learning, that's for sure.

I just ordered that hands free attachment. It sucks that it doesn't come with it already! I'd rather have that then that crazy over-padded. My SS sits on the table, not in the bag.

Do any of you use the hands free gizmo?

well, my setup is as follows; elbow joint & basket gauze, silicon whip, and another elbow joint that fits into the bubbler - the simpler, the better imo. I'm an ex-bong smoker, and this setup more than compensates for that fix!

Again, not true if its functioning correctly and if you use it properly. I have a GG and Standard, no hands free, and the SSV outperforms every portable I've used. Do you feel restriction when you inhale? It should be wide open. which heater cover are you using?

??? (@ zor)

So do I, but I still have to hold it.

Really? You have this wand and still have to hold it? That's very odd
silver-surfer-vaporizer-ground-glass-wand.jpg

It should fit and sit snugly in the heater cover. DDave's mod is great in that I don't need to (or rather, very rarely need to) rotate the wand to get complete coverage, so after one hit I prep another, load the wand into the SSV, and presto, ready for a quick boost whenever I want :)

I don't use the wand, I've got both ground and spherical glass, but find the basket gauze out performs both in a big way

My wand has the female ending, not the male.

Right, so to be more specific you have the spherical ground glass and yes, unfortunately that has no built-in hands-free option. Unfortunately I have no experience with that, if you continue to experience issues
perhaps you can request an exchange?

Since you had asked

I don't think I'm explaining myself clearly. I was just indicating that, with the GG wand (nonspherical) it will always be hands-free. No peripheral doohickey, no need for two hands even, just plug and puff. That is why I wrote "...no built-in hands-free option". As you've stated a preference for handsfree operation and you're not having much success with the spherical GG wand I'm suggesting it may be worthwhile to look into the GG wand as a replacement.

Also, you state
The heating element glows red hot, so I assume it is seated properly.
but if you haven't already I think you might want to check on the length of your heating filament, has it been pulled upwards as high as it goes? While it can glow red hot and look great, if it isn't positioned properly it won't conduct heat to warm the air properly.

The height looks right to me - the top is up to the level of the exit hole.

Do those ceramic elements just pull out and slip back inside easypeasy?

They definitely can move, and when you get a new unit it's worth checking just to be sure.

I can't watch this right now but it may be useful
