@John Lewus, I don't know a lot about treating seizures with CBD oil, but I've read enough to say it is my understanding that it is used as a preventative, rather than emergency, measure. Also, I believe it should be ingested (possibly by rubbing it on her gums, and allowing it to be absorbed), rather than vaped or smoked. I think if you google the topic, you'll find plenty of information.

Best wishes to you and your daughter.

Thanks for the response. That is my understanding of CBD oil as well but there is not a whole lot of scientific research on long term developmental problems that may happen from kids using every day so I won't go down that route. The seizures only happen when she is sleeping and are still pretty rare. In all 3 cases that it happened my daughter had a pretty long day with extra stress. This last time was after 8oz of blood drawn for a test which is pretty shocking to a 3 year olds system. Also, my daughters body was really warm all 3 so that could be related as well.

I have a fair amount of friends and acquantances that use cannabis and every single one of them that falls into the typical "stoner" stereotype with no motivation in life are all the ones that started using cannabis as an early teenager or even as a child. I just don't want to take the risk that this stunts her development when she should be active, curious, playful. There is probably a safe way to do it every day and CBD oil might just be it but I don't want to do the daily thing.

This is why I think the Herbalizer might be the solution I need. When my daughter is seizing her brain is just out of control and needs to be "reset" or calmed down. This is how I think the valium emergency injection works because after getting that from either the paramedic or from us she gets really calm and stops seizing while slowly grabbing at things. After about 4 or 5 hours my daughter starts to come back to normal after a good nap. If I could get the same effect with CBD oil I would feel better about it as it is more natural and not pharmaceutical.

I am thinking something like the pic further below connected to the fan assist of the herbalizer might work. If after a minute it did not work I would then use the valium to stop the seizure.

I mainly worry about cutting off air flow to daughter. While seizing she is not breathing very well. CBD oil hits tickle my throat and makes me want to cough. I don't know what could happen if my daughter had to cough but couldn't and was not breathing very well.

I really don't want to be the first person to ever try this. I hope my daughter never has a seizure again but after 3 now I think it is likely to happen again. At this point I am not putting her on the anti seizure medicine that causes keppra rage. The two times she had it her personality went from a sweet little affectionate girl to one that kept destroying stuff and just raging. This "cure" was worse than the disease.

I wish I could go back in time and strangle the people who started cannabis prohibition. I think I would have all the answers I need instead of guessing and worrying that the police state might label me a bad parent and take my daughter.

@John Lewus, it's obvious you have been paying attention to your daughter and are trying to do everything you can to help her. I can only imagine.

Yeah, sticking with CBD is probably the safest. I know I wouldn't want to get my kid high (well, actually, I did lend my Firefly to her, but she's 35). However, I don't think I'd be comfortable with the mask, due to the lack of oxygen. In fact, I'd think that would be very dangerous.

I do have an idea (though I've been trying out my new hydrabomb, so take it for what it's worth). When I was young (20-ish) I occasionally, while camping, sat under a blanket with friends and smoked joints. We got waaaayyyy stoned well before anybody was gasping for air. :ko: Perhaps sitting under a blanket with Herbie with her, while it vaporizes a high-CBD/low-THC strain or oil into the air (just remove the whip, and turn on the fan) would work. My only concern would be that her seizure may not be alleviated quickly enough, as I'd imagine injected Valium is pretty quick-acting.

Remember though, I'm just a guy posting on a forum. So, I'm just throwing stuff at the wall, and not making any recommendations. And I'm medicated.

Oh, one other thing. If I was dealing with this, I'd definitely discuss it with a good attorney, whose advice you trust, in advance. It'd be really fucked to hear that your daughter had been taken from your care!

In the end, I'm sure you'll research the topic adequately, and make your own informed decision. Best wishes.

Now, back to testing the Hydrabomb/Herbalizer combo.

Hello fellow Herbalizer users. I am in need of some modding advice. So the bad news is that my almost 4 year old daughter had her 3rd seizure yesterday and now I am looking for alternative medicine to use because I don't feel comfortable giving her the emergency medicine (valium) that stops the seizure. I am just now starting to investigate whether CBD oil might be a safer more natural way to stop the seizures when they happen but have not decided whether I want to do that. I don't care if my kid does cannabis when they are older but I have real concerns about it while they are developing due to the lack of research on the subject because of the prohibition.

Anyways I thought that it is worth a try to see if CBD oil could stop a seizure before I use the Valium if it happens again. The problem is how do I administer a dose when my daughter is seizing and is not really breathing. I don't think rubbing CBD oil on her would help at all and even if I had a way of giving an oral dose while she was seizing it would take far too long before the effects would kick in to help. I don't even know if this would help but after years of research on cannabis for myself I feel more comfortable with CBD oil if that would work.

Here is where I could use advice. The Herbalizer seems like it might be able to help me out due to the fact it has a fan and can heat up so fast. My friend is going to give me some high potency CBD oil with very little THC that I will keep ready on standby. However, when my daughter has a seizure she barely breathes and slowly smacks her lips together. The whip even with a fan would not work as my daughter might just breathe through her nose. I am thinking that one of those oxygen masks with a whip back to the Herbalizer and some CBD oil heavily soaked in hemp fiber using fan assist might a way to do this. When she is seizing I could turn the herbalizer up to 445, throw on my CBD soaked hemp fiber into a bowl, crank the fan, and put the mask on my daughter so she can get the vapor. If after a minute my daughter was still seizing I would then use the valium to stop it.

I am completely new to this and this is just a crazy idea that I have. I need to renew my medical card so I plan to talk to my cannabis friendly doctor about this to see if this is a good or bad idea. I am too scared to talk to my pediatrician because they might label me a bad parent and take my daughter away. Google "Medical Kidnapping" if you don't believe that this can happen. I am even nervous to post this here because of that but ultimately I am trying to do what is best for my daughter and think that trying this out for one minute before giving her pharmaceuticals might be a safer way to go.

I would love to here the communities opinion of this. It is nerve wracking for me to even consider this but pharmaceuticals concern me a lot as well. I am also worried that this could mess up her breathing while seizing. I myself have sensitive lungs and would cough a little. The worst thing I could imagine is she starts coughing or needs to cough but can't because she is seizing and starts to choke. Maybe I should also get an oxygen tank so I can go back and forth between oxygen and vapor.

If anyone has good links on seizures and CBD oil feel free to PM me. I am just now starting my research journey now that these seizures are no longer a one and done thing.

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Am on a cell, apologies for not quoting everyone.

As said above, cbd oil is a preventative. It will help a seizure, but takes time to be effective.

I don't have seizures, but do have vertigo and a maintenance dose has done me very well without impairment of other activities.

The herbalizer, as with other fan vapes can siphon off the THC and leave material that still contains CBD. You can vape at a temp that just mostly extracts thc or you can run the fan and let the thc be extracted into the air. You would then end up with material that you could use to make cbd oil.

Advise starting out buying the oil, if you can, from a reputable dispensary. That way you have best chance of determining a dose and a schedule that will allow you to maintain control.

While I don't doubt thc/cbd combo would help, it would be best to introduce as little psychoactive effect as possible.

Start out on the lower end of any dosage recommended. It's usually by weight. Work up slowly and monitor effects, in a notebook or log. There will first be a point of relief, where the episodes are either less frequent or less intense. Stay at that level for a while and if episodes increase in either frequency or severity, increase dose slightly. Keep in mind that overall effect may take a while to show up as the body adjusts to the medication.

Also keep in mind that many factors impact this med's effectiveness. For a while, you do need to log everything... sleep, eating, activities... etc.

It took me a while to find my balance and go from fear of my next vertigo attack to knowing exactly what it takes to keep my issue in control.

Feel free to PM.

Seems it will take a while to get it into routine but once your daughter(?) has a handle on it, it'll be second nature like anyone with asthma, they know usually before they need the inhaler.

Almost there...
So i was finally told what the Easter Egg magical code is!
Push this while holding that while spinning counter clockwise three times...
LMAO!! I waited two years to ask what the secret button presses were!
Kind of hoped for something a bit more flashy and out there, similar to the quirky messages!

Either way, here is a quick video of the "Easter Egg"

This is all great advice. I like the idea of putting a blanket over her with the fan assist on so that she is not breathing through the mask. Also, someone told me to investigate those sleep apnea devices that can help with breathing.

I would also like to see if I can get one of those oxygen tanks like what EMT uses. Every seizure they always put oxygen on her to help with breathing.

A good friend of mine has been growing his own organic cannabis for years. He just started growing a very high CBD/low THC strain that tastes like arse but really works the best on my pain. It is the only strain that ever actually knocked out a medium headache. I think he said it was like 23% or so. Other strains just make me forget the headache is there but it still hurts. Anyways he is going to get me some of his high concentration CBD oil which I think would work well in the Herbalizer.

If anyone knows of any cannabis friendly neurologists in the Portland, OR area that would be a great first start for me and my daughter. I'll ask the doctor I go to as I need to renew my card soon anyways.

Thanks for posting. I've been curious about the egg, but not enough to PM someone to find out. I wasn't missing much.

This thread is going to another level as far as medical talk goes, this excites me for the future of vapes! I hope to own a herbalizer one day simply to have the ability to quickly/instantly vape as needed mostly for medical reasons like the ones stated above, I wonder if aromatherapy could become a part of our school classes? Vetiver Oil is said to help with memory and helps children with adhd autism etc.. I wish it wasn't so taboo to talk about changing class rules... I really feel that this stuff could help millions of people around the world.

I recently order some vetiver oil and I'm going to try inhaling, aromatherapy, and trying it in a salve to see how well it works I know of a couple other oils to mix with it to improve these effects, I hope one day schools will be more lenient and listening.

After testing my new Hydrabomb with Herbie, since Friday, I can honestly say that it kicks ass.

I've tried counting tokes when using the whip, and always lose count, but I think it's around 10 or so per bowl. With the Hydrabomb, it's 2-4 tokes, at which time the vapor becomes too wispy to bother with it. My only complaint is that with these massive (to me, anyway) clouds, it's disappointing that I can't handle more, because it tastes so good!

Anyone have this and an Evo that can compare? The one on the classifieds has me thinking about grabbing one instead of waiting on the next Vapexhale sale.

I have an OG Cloud and a Herbie. Herbie gets more use for me. Quicker and more convenient. Clouds aren't as big but the effects are! :2c::peace:

My Evo is no longer functional, but I've never paid to have it fixed because of how much I love Herbie! It's just generally versatile. I feel like it's perfect through the whip and also an awesome water pipe vape with a little modding. It's just such low effort, so instant--so safe--and the build quality is very underrated. I spilled a scary amount of water down the heater vent onto the lit bulb and it was fine!!!

So I just got my VapeXhale Hydrabomb on Saturday and it broke last night. It basically tipped on its side and the entire mouthpiece broke off at the joint. I e-mailed support. They originally said I should buy the warranty that covers damage.

The cost? $150. Insane. I e-mailed asking if they could do something, and they offered a 20% off coupon. I'm not stupid enough to spend good money after bad and pay $270 for a piece of glass that didn't even last a week.

I'm incredibly disappointed as to the quality of the glass. I've had $15 gas station glass that is more durable.

Any other suggestions for a hydratube? So disappointed because the honeycomb configuration worked like an absolute champ.....

I would skip the hydratube and spend 150$ on a variety of 18mm glass on DHgate. You'll have a lot more fun and lose no functionality.

@mrbonsai420 I enjoy both my Evo and Herbie greatly. The Herbie gets more use because of the fast heat up time. But when I'm in the mood to really milk glass, then the Evo shines. I prefer the flavor of the Evo too.

A month ago my herbalizer got sick and I sent it from Europe to US for repair. I plugged it in tonight for the first time since it came back and the same error appeared. I paid shitloads for absolutely nothing. I am done with the Herbie. What's the best alternative? the volcano? Whoever wants a sick herbie let me know. Other EU herbie users are doing fine with theirs, so spare me the transformer/current potential culprit. It was working fine for a year and a half. I am beyond infuriated.

@sch15m what a shitty news you have! The service they gave is absolutely not normal.

Make them pay for another return, it is not normal, they fixed it then, why not now? Could they try it ? No, no and no.

Have you contacted Herbalizer to tell them about it? I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune but I think you take a risk using it in Europe since they state not to do so and that it voids the warranty. I think they do at least. Best of luck! I would hope they would offer to teapot/ship it for free since I assume you paid for the repair/shipping in the first place.
