Nice! Nothing beats the feeling of glass on your lips.
Once glass is small and thick enough I totally know what you mean, it's fairly durable.

Looks like more options/solutions!
Thanks for sharing. I'll probably buy one!

Just checking in to say I'm finding myself gravitating to the Vapor Brothers glass mouthpiece with mouth condom over the GH over the crafty cooling unit. The flavor and temp of vapor hits my sweet spot. The crafty cu is great but it cools down the vapor and the flavor for me. Not saying that's good or bad just laying down my experience for others.

So, I was wondering what the USB outlet on my modular synthesizer's power supply would be good for- found a use for it!

While waiting for mine, I found the FC hopper threads. First of all, thank you backers for your trust in (and patience with) HL! After all, this thing surely looks awesome, and I hope to get mine in a couple of months.

I will buy myself the Easy Flow/ Budgie bubbler later… But I noticed people hooking the Crafty CU up to the GH on this thread. How about using the FlashVape Mini Bubbler for that matter? It's super cheap and comes with plenty of spare tube. I believe the inner diameter of it is 5.5 mm, and guess it would fit nicely around the GH tip if you press it down a bit. I don't own any of the hardware so I can't be sure. Being neither glass or big, it should be spill- and shatter proof, and so may have its use. Just an idea!

Day 7 update SS grasshopper #12XX

So a week has gone by and all is well with my hopper. I am 71 chambers in now. It has been a lot of fun posting daily about my hopper. I have really enjoyed sharing with all of you. I hope to see more positive posts in the future. Hopefully all the bugs are worked out and it's smooth sailing from here on out!
I really do hope all the new units are as reliable as mine has been to me.
I know its been said before but IMO the grasshopper is definitely worth the wait.
Nothing new to report, still going strong (knock on wood), still a little beast.
If I did not have a hopper to use and post about I would be extremely skeptical myself, but seeing and using is believing.
It is impressive how little material I used per chamber and the amount of time I've had it.
So lets do a final wrap up of my week.

THE GOOD:
-stealth
-under 5 second heat up time
-convection
-taste
-vapor
-efficiency
-versatility
-quick charge up
-price
-warranty
-uniqueness
-attention to detail
-ergonomic
-no learning curve
-nice heat range
-does not stink when not in use

THE BAD:
-waiting time for ship out
-problematic units being shipped out after over 2 years wait
-IMO they used FC members as beta testers which should have been done prior to releasing faulty units
-mouthpiece gets too hot to use without session extender
-battery life
-customer service
-GHL not being present on FC to ask questions or get answers
-charging people to return brand new defective units or pieces

As you can see the good outweighs the bad. I was not happy with all the reviews and amount of warranty issues people had. I was honestly only expecting mine to last a day or 2.
I am extremely happy with my SS hopper and I hope and pray that all hoppers after mine are as problem free (knock on wood).
The grasshopper is a very unique vaporizer that I thought would never be reliable. I thought wrong. My hopper has been completely reliable I am happy to say.

It seems GHL has finally got all the bugs worked out. IMO the grasshopper is a vape you want in your arsenal. Especially if you love stealth and convection.

I don't think there is anyone here who is a fan of how they released the grasshopper and how much of a pain getting good customer service from them can be. I'm sure they learned a lot with this venture.

When I look back at indigogo I see a small business that blew up way too fast to keep up with the demand for their product and they suffered as all of us did too. I am just happy and grateful that GHL kept their nose to the grindstone and finally produced a reliable vaporizer.

In summary, I love my grasshopper! I would definitely recommend the grasshopper, but only if it is non problematic. I hated to see and hear all of the horror stories of malfunctioning units. I love the versatility of the hopper. It is nice to have a portable convection vape the size of a pen milk up a bubbler over and over.
I hope they are able to redesign the MP so it stays cool enough that you don't need a session extender. Once you have your grasshopper in your hand and use it for the first time all the waiting will seem worth it.
So hang in there fellow soon to be grasshopper owners! You will be happy you did.

Thank you for taking the time to read my grasshopper "journal" I hope it was informative if not helpful.
I look forward to hearing other members reviews of the grasshopper!!!

Dear VapeDr, Once again, a stellar report. Well done ! Now, take a bit of much-needed time off. And when you return, do some preemptive "stretching", as we would all be horrified if you pulled a hammy.

Here I am, volunteering to be "that guy": 7 days in isn't enough to be sure that all the bugs are worked out. After having experiencing the highs and lows- best vape ever/broken POS, I've settled on cautious optimism, mixed with plenty of wariness.
Your journal is great though! Thanks for taking the time to share the details of your experience.

I noticed in another post you mentioned .25 - .3 grams are how much you are loading in the chamber. It seems like most of the posts I have seen have mentioned about 1/2 that amount. Just double checking here, can you confirm?

@dfwguy99 I have tried with a full chamber which can hold around .3 grams.
I also tried just a small pinch to little to register on a scale with great success as well.

I tried many different methods of packing.
I find that filling the chamber to the top and tapping the side to settle the herb works best for me.

I settled on using roughly .2-.25 depending on how dry the material is for best results.
Closer to .25 really dry and .2 fresh.

It is hard to say exactly how much I used every chamber. I did weigh it a few times for a reference but I did not weigh each chamber I vaped.

Depending on variables in the material, this is a rough estimate to go off of though.

It is very efficient none the less. Your results may also vary depending on your grind.

My first crafty, serial 12,XXX gave up on saturday, red & yellow flashing lights. It was on 90 hours and I bought it 10 months ago. I have been very careful with it the whole time and honestly feel I've gotten my moneys worth, although I was still sad to be without a vape for a few days.

I sent it back to vapefiend for warranty & have gotten my brand new unit today. 40,XXX. Heats up to 185c in 1m35s (full bowl); how lovely this feels.

Just some perspective folks. Vapes break, the question is, not unlike a car, is it worth having when it's not broken.

Great updates @Vape Dr. as Ricky from Trailer Park Boys would say, I a toadaso I fucking I a toadaso!

i sent an e-mail to GHL asking if i can by an extra mouthpiece. cause cleaning it with ISO and destroying that golden reclaim is no option for me. as i don't live in a legal state where supply is unlimited.

they answered that not jet, but ensured that this will be possible in not so far future!!! :) so may plan to torch that cone thing up and take a reclaim dab trough a rig is not dead at all. :) i also asked if fire would damage that inside plasticky thing, they say no. but also Caroline noted that torched up mouthpiece wouldn't be covered by warranty, because extensive heat can deform it. and it will change a color for sure. no problem about extensive, i like low temp dabs anywayz. and even less worries about burned steel rainbowy color.

ouh, welll... this is what en extra mouthpiece is for, right? to be rough on her! to dab on her! so so so happy about GHL answer

p.s. one more idea about mouthpiece dabbing just generated in my vaped-out mind. how about putting whole mouthpiece into dee Sublimator chamber? :) i hope that it fits.

guys, can you tell me if this battery charger is good for the gh battery?

http://www.amazon.it/Nitecore-Intel...=UTF8&qid=1455187714&sr=1-1&keywords=nitecore

thanks in advance.
Yes, and I just received mine. It's pretty cool since it has a readout for each battery. I charged my batteries for my Xbox One controller and it was pretty quick. I like the fact you can charge many different batteries, it makes it so versatile. Mine even came with a car charger which will really come in handy for me. Got mine from here just in case you want a car charger. http://www.ebay.com/usr/edisonbright_led

I'm so confused why you would want to torch the front end in order to dab. When people talk about cleaning with ISO, the purpose there is that you can let the ISO evaporate and have all your beautiful reclaim just waiting for you to use in any way want. Another option is to dip some organic cotton or hemp fiber in ISO, then use it to wipe the mouthpiece clean. Let the ISO evaporate from the swab for a week or so, then put that swab in your grasshopper, or any other device. No waste - and you don't have to buy a new mouthpiece, or ghetto torch your current one.

Honestly, torching to mouthpiece to try and get high is some serious crackhead status. If you're that desperate to get high that you have to smoke the gunk in the mouthpiece there has to be a better way than to take a torch to the damn thing. Why don't you try the iso/cotton swab method @Skored recommended? I cringe at the idea of torching the hopper.

I don't live in a legal state either but damn, torching my vaporizer just to get a little reclaim is the last thing I'd do.

Day 3 with my Grasshopper.

I've been using it as my daily driver now for the 3 days I've had it and it's going very well so far. A big "aha" moment for me was realizing that I needed to bump the GH to 4.5 to get the same 392 degrees F level that I enjoy vaping at on my Arizer Air (level green).

Here's the GH temperature guide for anyone interested:

1 130C / 266F
1.5 140C / 284F
2 150C / 302F
2.5 160C / 320F
3 170C / 338F
3.5 180C / 356F
4 190C / 374F
4.5 200C / 392F
5 210C / 410F

Since I adjusted the temperature, I'm regularly getting those nice, thick clouds I'm used to without any effort at all.

It's awesome sitting on the couch watching Netflix after a long day of work and having the Grasshopper just chilling next to me, ready to go at any moment. Looking forward to taking it to the movies this weekend for a discretion test!

I still haven't tried vaporizing with water yet (I'm talking EVER, not just with the GH), so I'm going to be ordering a D-020 or D-020D soon to try it out. Like an idiot, I managed to lose the small silicone mouthpiece already that comes with the GH so I had to place an order for a new one (and a leather case as well).

So far, so good! Everyone who has tried it so far has been super impressed and wants to order their own ASAP.

Hello Gandalf, Thank you for your report. You, along with buzz Dankin and Vape Dr., are allowing those of us in pre-order purgatory to live vicariously through your exploits in Blissful Hoppertudeness. My question for you is this: how aggressive are your draws ? Are you a "sipper" or a "ripper" ? Thanx !

@studmuffin

It depends on the vape I use, but I'd say with the GH I'm now hitting it at about a 6-7 on the sipper to ripper scale. At first I thought I really needed to rip it at 10 to get clouds, but once I adjusted the temperature, I didn't have to try so hard. It's early days with this vape so I'm still working on optimizing my technique.

i never tried to vape on ISO extracted oil. is it safe? if so, then yes- will try this method. without adding salt this must be done, right? i don't know all those things, because i been vaiping since 2 years ago. so reclaim is news for me. never tried to smoke a tar cleaned out from a bong. it is just gross :disgust:

and it is not like i'm desperate for THC. i love how golden reclaim taste. a sweet desert. :leaf:

chillin on the couch, sippin off a 22 ounce.
Tried out the GH for the first time today before heading off to work... in one word (well, two): GAME CHANGER. First big draw out of a tiny load of half-baked ABV taken out of the Mighty I was previously sipping on this afternoon - blue tinged vapor!! of yes, and a lot of it! And it got me ripped. This thing is super stealthy and super easy to use.:nod:

I vaped my GH with the mflb orbiter yesterday and was pretty baked. Then a stupid thing happened: I coughed in the whip because of a huge cloud and the water got in the grasshopper. I put the whole grasshopper (without back end) in iso and let it dry over night. Tried it this morning and everything is working normally :)

it is not good to put whole thing in ISO, man. i'm sure this was discussed somewhere in this thread. ISO can damage that 3D printed heater if i remember correctly.
