What temp are you running @?
And what kind of control unit + heater coil are you using?

I'm running an Auber RDK-200 with an Auber flat coil @ 627*; good temp for me.

I haven't done much experementing with this enail and nail yet but I am currently at 580. Using a HighFive Benjamin Danklin Enail flat coil.

no man the sic is torch friendly and can hold up fine as long as your using a butane torch

Fair enough, yeah I saw that it could stand fluctuations of like 700 degrees, but still makes me nervous. I dislike torching in general :p

When they say temp fluctuations of 700 degrees they mean instantly ... like if it were dropped in water from 1000 degrees it would break. Torching is totally fine. I love taking a SiC dish out on the go with a little torch.

Try turning your temps up to 630 - 655. I find dabs to taste a bit weird and be a little harsh at too low of temps ... maybe you'll have the same experience.

I keep lurking on this thread, but cost has prohibited me from experimenting with one of my own...
Is there a huge difference between the high end units and say an under $300 unit?

No

I just bought one of the more expensive units on the market after using two of the lower priced units on the market and functionality wise, they arent MUCH different. Is temperature control a little better on the more expensive one? Yes.. but not by a lot. I do think the more expensive unit FEELS sturdier but I ran my AUber unit 24/7 for probably 6 months at least and my Terpz unit probably 24/7 for almost a year and they both were still working when I switched to a different unit.

You could get the Auber V2 unit with a flat coil and a knockoff HE Infiniti for under $200 easy. Thats a no brainer.

I got what I think is the cheapest available digital unit for $110 shipped from the US (and that included coil and nail).and I couldn't be happier. I'm sure I will want something different/better at some point, but very happy I jumped in at a low price point and don't feel like I am missing out by having not spent hundreds more.

Ya I think expensive units are really only necessary if you want to be doing back to back huge dabs. I love my Auber but generally it's just me and I don't really do huge dabs. I find by the time I have loaded my next dab/am done coughing that the nail is back to temp. An exception to this might be if you are using a carb cap which touches your coil which can cause bigger fluctuation.

I have been unable to pull the trigger on an enail for almost 2 years now. I have the funds for it now and I am thinking I want the Auber RDK-300 and the domeless.com ceramic enail and flat coil for a total of $250 before shipping. What do you guys think of this setup? Is the RDK-300 worth getting compared to the RDK-200? Any thoughts on the domeless.com nail compared to something quartz (im not a fan of titanium).

The 300 solves the few things that could be considered wrong with the 200, it has a removable power cord (which is longer than the non-removable 200 cord), and an auto-shut off feature. Also I would say it is a bit nicer aesthetically, but that's more of matter of taste.

Owning the 200 the only genuinely annoying thing is the ~3 foot power cord, keep meaning to get an extension cord but still haven't gotten around to it. Not sure if either of the improvements are worth an extra $80 over the 200 though.

Also you could save more money by buying a flat coil on amazon or dhgate as you can get them for $30-35 compared to the $60 from Auber. Just make sure it's 100 watts and has the standard pin configuration.

The domeless ceramic enail is supposed to be great, but some people found it didn't fit their flat coil so they had to unwind the coil a bit with a screwdriver. This was a while ago so domeless might have changed the design, but just something to be aware of. Also not sure if you were including a carb cap, but you'll definitely want one of those as well.

You might also want to consider a quartz/titanium hybrid nail which has a quartz dish but the rest of the parts are titanium. You can get an all american version from New Vape, or get a Chinese version from DHGate. I have a slightly different model of the Chinese version and it tastes pretty great. Otherwise you might want to check out D-Nail or Highly Educated if you have more money. If you want an all quartz nail you are basically going to have to ditch the flat coil and get either a 16mm or 20mm barrel coil. If you decide on the barrel coil you can get a pretty good quartz e-nail from hymanquartz01 on DHGate, or if you want to spend more money you could get a Liger Banger with quartz or sic insert.

One final thing to note about ordering from DHGate right now is that it's Chinese New Year so your order might not ship for a week or 2.

Wow, thanks for an in depth response. I really want the RDK-300 mostly because of the looks but I read that before December it was on sale so I may have to wait for another sale. I was going to order the domeless.com flat coil for $50 instead of the Auber flat coil because I read about the fitment issues. I would assume that the flat coil they sell fits with their nail; however, it would be nice if it fit with the one on amazon. I suppose I could message domeless.com to find the diameter that it fits and then message the amazon seller. I definitely prefer the idea of a flat coil just because I feel like it would heat the nail more evenly; I may end up purchasing a hybrid quartz in the future. One last thing, how long does it take for the Auber unit to arrive with the cheapest shipping? Is it shipped from China?

Oh didn't realize that domeless sold flat coils, that might be your best for having a no hassle fit. I would message them and figure out how many watts they are as if they aren't 100 watt you might need to adjust the settings on your Auber.

Can't really comment on the shipping exactly as I am in Canada so it took a bit longer. They are based in the USA so it should ship pretty quick, though the box is manufactured in China.

I have been looking at these dry herb coils that connect to an enail but the D-Nail one is $250 and the Errlectric one is $350! Do you know of any cheaper dry herb coils on the market? It would be nice if the enail could do double duty.

I think those are the only two options currently. I think liger has one in the works as well. Errlectric is a closed system so you need the heater box from them to use their dry herb nail.

If you get a Happy Daddy Genesis nail and use the top of a VXH EZ Load Bowl, you can vape flower through it. Ive done it quite a bit. Works great. The HDP nail retains heat like a mofo so it does a super job of vaping your flower.

I have a VB2.0 as my primary dab machine I was looking for an alternate setup for variety. I was thinking a Dnail with a Liger Banger 20mm. Any thoughts suggestions? I'm a rookie with all this pid, coil, titanium and stuff that's why i just grabbed a VB2.0.
Looking for another kick ass setup!!
SiC seems to be a must! Definitely need to protect the Glass though!

That would be the way to go, I highly suggest a Liger. The yummy convection dabs are great! I haven't tried the VB2.0 but I want to! It's hard to imagine anything tastier than these shatter dabs through my Liger V2.0 w/ 20mm SiC and an FC-710! I use mine with an Omron PiD based Enail that works flawlessly.

Josh from CCA is working on one to go onto the Liger V2.0 body, It's supposed to use a standard barrel coil to cut down on the cost but the device will (Encase) the coil for efficiency.
no release date yet or even a test unit for me to play with but I'm waiting!

What do you guys think, Auber RDK-200 vs Boss Micro? Auber makes there own PID but the enclosure is not as nice as the Boss and the Auber is slightly bigger. Which one would you get?

Also Boss Micro has removable power cable.

Boss Micro is better to look at, I almost picked one up.
I think that uses a mini-XLR connection as opposed to the standard XLR of most units.
I ended up buying the RDK-200.

I really like the auberins controller - the dial is fucking sweet

anybody know if the HE dab tools will fit the threads of the d-nail carb cap? I really want a ball point dabber

Great Scott!
I had some kind of breakthrough where I finally like my sapphire insert lol. At 670 degrees on the d-nail controller I'm getting smooth flavorful hits and very little vapor trail leftover. Idk why it took me months to start liking it but I'm loving it now.

Hi :)

I would like to get a Greenlightvape G9 classic (directly from China) but I don't know what coil size I should get for this titanium nail (which fits in 14 or 18 mm bubler) :

I would like to know before order if this Ti nail is ok to use with any coil, and what coil size should i get ?

Thanks for your help.

Depending on your considerations, this is essentially the same unit for $100 less.

The nail in the picture isn't compatible with e-nails so it's a moot point. Just pick an nail and get the coil size that's indicated for it (will be flat, 16mm, or 20mm).

Sorry maybe it was not clear, Greenlightvape G9 Classic I talk about is this one which is cheaper than Gimodo Small Dabs.

Gimido website sell this unit for rather same price G9, more Europe volt & watt and color option; it seems interesting.

G9 classic has an USB interface which allows to update firmware (if I do not mistake), do you know if GIMIDO Enail has it ?

Not positive but I think that USB port is just for charging other devices like your cellphone, not for updating firmware. I could be wrong.

USB will be for charging only, there's no firmware on these to update.
