FWIW, IMO, YMMV ...

... I find that an extra 60 to 90 seconds of warm up is, if the situation allows it, time well spent.
I'm on white 99% of the time, so the 2 1/2 to 3 minute warm up gets the Air really cookin' from the first draw.

I'm getting better at making sure I grab the phone and have its timer clock ready ...

I find this procedure more to my liking than drying my material beyond the 62% RelativeHumidity at which I store it.

Also leaning towards keeping the allegedly counterfeit unit, just cause I'll have another vape handy. Not to worry though ladies and gentlemen, I'll take pictures comparing them side by side when I have the time, and I'll be inspecting both units very carefully. I'll have a black and titanium unit I guess. My good friend wants to buy the fake one though for the same price I bought it, but ehhh I don't know.

I just wish my Steelers made it for today =( but whatever, can't go wrong with either team playing for keeps today. If Manning wins he'll retire on top, if the Panthers win it'll be the main crown jewel on one of the most dominant seasons ever.
And hey, at least we're getting the Rams back =D

I too was rooting for my SECOND favorite NFL team, the Steelers, last month ... crazy ending vs. Cinci, and then the tough loss vs. Denver.

Not everybody's hatin' on Pittsburg here in Cleveland :-)

Be careful if you even think of using a counterfeit vape. You have absolutely no idea of what kind(s) of potentially toxic materials they made the vape with.

Remember the counterfeiters goal was to make something that looked real for the least amount of money.

Be safe and dispose of the fake before you regret using / loaning it.

Okay so I've had some time to inspect the allegedly counterfeit unit with the one from puff it up, and I've come to the conclusion that it is indeed an impostor. Many things do not add up.

First, the packaging: the black unit (the fake one) came in a package that had holes and was generally pretty beat up. The box it came in also was different, with a different layout on the back. But whatever, this wasn't much to condemn the the whole unit on.

Now I inspected the actual unit, first thing I noticed was that there wasn't a plastic cover over the serial numbers on the bottom of the battery cap like the real one had. While I'm covering the bottom of the unit I'll testify that the bottom cap felt cheaper and did not screw on as smooth as my Titanium one. Moreover, the craft work for the electronics inside the bottom cap for the battery was noticeably dirtier and not as well put together, like at all. The battery is different too, a Samsung one.

Also, there was not a small sticker between where the ridges of the plastic cover and the body of the vaporizer. It's a small white sticker, only 4 characters long, two on top, two on bottom.

Now I compared the machining of the plastic cover around the top of the unit. Sloppy job. I saw that there are threads of plastic sticking out, and there was even a screw showing. It's just not as well put together as my Titanium one.

I compared the small plastic cover for the herb chamber, and my PIU one was noticeably firmer, the other was flimsier.

I didn't have time to compare the size of the airholes, but I'll check it out later.

Even the stems felt different, however I'm not 100 percent sure about it.

Regardless, I came to the conclusion that the unit is a fake. I haven't used it at all. Merely inspected it and compared it to my titanium unit.

I feel cheated, and I'm about to let that eBay seller know.

And yes, my real unit is amazing, I fucking love it. It's perfect. Great job from Arizer, I wasn't disappointed with my Solo when I first got it, and I'm feeling even better about this one.

Well now you know, Definitively try to get your money back and don't return the counterfeit unit, they will only sell it to someone else adding to the misery. I would feel pissed of too.
Are the rings/ribs in the oven the same? That was a good way of spotting the counterfeit before.
Maybe there is more than one company manufacturing these(i use company lightly thieving bastards)

Excellent detective work, congratulations. Good luck with the refund, I agree it's not the sort of thing you want to pass on, even to an informed buyer, let alone an innocent one.

Another example of 'a deal too good to be true'.

FWIW the packaging on the counterfeit I got was very shabby as well. For not a lot of effort you'd think they'd fix that? A dead give away, really.

About a month ago I dropped my Air on a hard bathroom floor. It continued working but seemed to intermittently shut off too soon even when the batteries were fully charged. Now it won't stay on at all, with fully charged batteries. Guess I have to contact Arizer about warranty service, unless anyone here has any ideas?

If it came down tail first (as commonly happens) I suspect the spring got compressed and is no longer making solid contact. Before I panicked I'd try stretching it a bit? Or maybe adding a dime under the battery (between minus and the spring)?

OK, tried both suggestions with both batteries. It won't even turn on now. When I plug in the charger it blinks blue once then nothing.

I have noticed the non flat side of my batteries are getting indented. I started noticing this after using my new d4 charger, but I don't think that's the culprit. The worse battery will lose connection and the aa will shut of if I tap it on a hard surface.

The indents take the shape of the connection inside the aa.

Has anyone noticed this before?

I have also been having issue with it not heating good on random occasions... I'm hoping my batteries are just getting old.

If it first showed up after using the new charger, why don't you think that's a factor? "What was the last thing you did before the lights went out?" is a valid, and useful, troubleshooting tool sometimes.

Are these factory batteries? Fit in the Air is tight, using a different battery could cause this. The factory battery is also dented? And in "the shape of the connection in the AA?", that is rectangular?

The answer to your question, at least from me, is no. 3 (factory) batteries used in two different Airs and no dents. My money's on the charger, does it dent other 18650s? Perhaps from being driven forward by the spring when released and slammed into the positive contact?

In any event, as we've been discussing dicey contact with the battery can cause a host of problems, including shutdowns associated with shocks. Weak/old batteries are not likely a cause of early, unexpected shutdowns. They just get progressively fewer and fewer sessions per charge until you scrap them. They won't give 6 sessions one charge and 3 the next. And more than one kinda lets them off the hook cause wise?

Good luck with it, but I don't think it's the Air denting the factory batteries.

Yes, my factory batteries have been getting dented also, on the positive end. Have only ever charged them in the Air.

After using the charger is when I first noticed it. I never really looked at the batteries closely before getting the charger because i would just put them straight in the air. The d4 has a thicker positive connection and it also has smooth rounded edges. The dents on the battery match the size of the air connect and the sharpness of its sides/edges.

I also assumed it was the charger at first but i dont think it can be... I felt to see how strong the springs were and they didnt feel strong enough.

Also all my batteries are stock (piu)

I was just wondering what deal was - if the dents were causing heating/session issues, but It is probably just the age of the batteries.

...But i do know that the most dented battery is the one that loses connection and shuts the air off when i tap it on the table. I first noticed it when I casually set the vape down, so it doesn't need a lot of force to lose the connection.

I would not expect any spring you'd be compressing by hand to be able to dent the battery directly (that is you probably dent it much pushing it into the Air with your thumb?) but in a charger I can see how the spring might give the battery 'a running start' so it hammers into the terminal, not possible in the Air since the spring loads slowly as the cap is screwed on.

However the dents are happening I can see how that would impact contact and reliability.

Another poster says he's seen it with factory batteries in the Air only, so I guess it can happen.......but I sure don't see how and it's sure not happening on any of mine. Then again, I've never dropped any Airs....so far.

Good luck with it. Sounds like a fresh battery is in order?

Just checked both of my stock batteries that have only ever been charged / used in the Air and no dents...

I jest of course but leave them hard surfaces alone, if you must bang something on a hard surface use your head

I always keep mine in the sleeve, i find it helps with heat up time and retaining heat as well, it takes longer to cool, but its worth it

I've even used a hammer as a screwdriver on occasion. I wouldn't admit though.

I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed a buildup on their stems. I get a yellow ring build up right on the bottom of the stem.

I only vape at the weekends so the stems spend 4/5 days in a ISO bottle before cleaning ready for the weekend. Because of the excessive soak time I am surprised that this ring remains when the rest of the stem comes up good as new. Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this? I have tried to clean with ear bud but didn't take it off. As I am writing this I have just realised I should try some magic eraser.

I've noticed this as well, especially in the last couple of winter months ... and it helps with grip too. Maybe my hands are drier than most (?), but although it looks great without the sleeve, it's darn slippery.

I cut a little bit over an inch off of the sleeve, turned the sleeve upside down (no access therefore to the charge port on the back), and move it according to my needs (e.g. up high to assist the heater ... up enough to access the battery compartment ... all the way down to help with cooling).

The sleeve also keeps it from rolling when it's laid on its side.
