Vapman

@biohacker, butane powered vapes are the real deal!

The Lotus has more convection than that though, same for the Vapocane or the Hammer. The vaponic, vapman and vapcap are IMO less convection than that too, with slight more convection for the Vaponic.

The big problem with these vaporizers is combusting. The Vapcap sorts that by the clicking tip, the Vaponic as a red line drawn that gets too hot when you get to temp. The Lotus turns orange in the cap. So, you see... most have props for you to not fly blind and work fairly good without being flawless of course. But the errors are due to human error and distraction, not exactly bad technique.

As for the supreme, the temp control is great, but the form factor is weird and that is a big heat mass of metal out in the open for you to burn yourself. The Lotus is a pipe, and the others can be hid in the hand.

My preference goes toward convection and simple vaporizers, so i own the Lotus, the Vaponic and plan on getting the Vapman. I ordered the Vapcap last friday too... the small form factor and the click tip sold me, plus is 30% of vapmans price.
I still believe the Vapman to be a superior product to the vapcap, on par with the Lotus although with a more conduction signature, and will eventually indulge in a walnut mica.

the Vapman can choke me with cloud density, but that's all subjective. I really don't like the form factor with the Lotus, nor the draw & heat aspect of it, plus, the Vapman is a third of its size and comes with a smelly proof container :)

The Lotus is a pipe, plain and simple. The difference to the regular pipe is the cap, it is one of the most similar to the combustion experience without the bad taste and harmfull byproducts.
As for smell, the Lotus gives zero smell, unless you have a load in it, but you can put a plastic cap on it. I use the one that came in my honest torch.

The fact that the Lotus is almost 100% convection makes it a superior and more efficient extractor of cannabinoids than the Vapman, the Vapman is much smaller and discreet and with a much more sedative high.

I see these two vaporizers as more of a special combo than actually competitors. One has what the other lacks and vice versa. A Lotus+vapman combination will supply 99% of your vaping needs, water dry, house or out, heady or sedative. (at least my vaping needs, i've said it in other threads: the only time i miss an electric desktop is with friends and an electric portable when i need both my hands or silence, and that is VERY rare in my vaping usage)

Agree on everything except the sedative high... Man, I vape this Jack47 auto these days and its a Sativa and it literally keeps me up at nights! I wish it could make a Sativa more sedative... :p

I stand corrected then. ;) That's nice to know NF. I am a heady high lover ... it is still much more sedative than the Lotus or do you find it is not that different? That would mean that there is less conduction than i thought with the Vapman.

No comparison with the Lotus though, neither in clouds or taste, sadly... If I could have a Vapman with the Lotus taste and clouds I would have found my grail.

Have you tried the Supreme3? Reason i'm asking is because I had both the Lotus and Supreme3 at my house yesterday and the Lotus didn't get a single use! From what i've been reading, the Supreme3 is alot more consistent and less of a guessing game due to the thermometer. No over heated loads, no wispy hits, just consistent perfection each and every time.

It sounds like the Vapcap and Vapman are alot more conduction than the SUP3 and Lotus?

Also, what's the BADDEST torch to use with all of these? Or is there a thread for it?

You can do this my friend...

Let it grow extra weeks...
Depending on how sedative you would like...

Let the Trichomes mature to at least 50% Amber, more Amber...more CBN, more CBN = more sedative qualities.

Edit; Even with the racy racy Sativas.
I let a Neville's Haze (Abusive cut) (90% Sativa) mature to 75% Amber..
I couldn't even keep my eyes open.

Vapmans conduction plain and simple, René confirmed it in the thread earlier. I struggle with the co

I disagree with the user who claimed a lotus is a more efficient extractor, unless something game changing happened in between v1 and v3. Not claiming its not efficient but its certainly not as efficient with small loads.

I know this be deemed blasphemous to some, but for true microdosing and getting the most out of my herbs I don't reach for my nano.. I reach for the vapman. After fine tuning my torch technique further I've found this to strait up be the most efficient vape I've used or own.

I've just recently acquired a triihouse lily, its now my vapmans #1 buddy. Officially ordered my first CASE of butane!!

I stand by what i said. Bear in mind i didn't say the Lotus will allow you to save as much herb as the Vapman, although i still believe this is true under certain conditions.

First of all, the Vapman requires you to grind your material which causes loss of trichomes, that remain in the grinder.
Second, due to its conduction nature, the bowl remains hot in between hits, which accounts for further losses compared to the Lotus.

What i believe makes the Vapman potentially more efficient is the volume of the load which is much smaller than the Lotus and so instinctively you end up using less material per session.

But in theory, if you put the same amount in both units, the Lotus will extract more, faster and with fewer losses.

Still, i believe the difference will be marginal in the end since you don't acount for what you actualy assimilate in your lungs. It is known that the exhale still contains cannabinoids, and thus, when all losses are taken into account, and considering that most people don't try to maximize the assimilation of their hits - often exhaling huge clouds, i believe these two to pretty much get you at the same place for the same amount in the bowl.

Also, what i said for the Lotus i reiterate for the Nano, as they have the same convection/conduction ratio in my opinion.

Not really true. With the Vapman hitting it lowers the temp of the bowl enough that no substantial vaporization is happening until you heat it again.

I know I can also say I've never reached combustion using a vapman following the instructed heating method... not so with the lotus. Ymmv but that's been my experience at least.

You can use this vape correctly in the sense that you are vaporizing and not scorching your herbs and still not truly capitalize on its abilities.

Want to touch on some points:

-Grinders don't eat cannabinoids no ifs ands or butts about it. What goes in is still there. But even if they DID whole nugs in most any unit (save vapolution?) yields wispier vapor and a gimped extraction rate, sure its fantastic for flavor chasing but let's get real..
-While VM is conduction, the heat is residual after inhaling as your inhale cools the pan till there's no vapor leftover. Any residual heat is negligent, the lotus retains heat too (as does every vaporizer).

in theory
I don't subscribe.

I'd also sincerely take the vapmans taste over 95% of the vapes out there conduction or convection. Convections great, but indistinct.. The vapman brings an extremely unique signature to the table. However that's entirely subjective, I also enjoy a well seasoned cast-iron skillet to a new Teflon coated pan.

The quicker loss of taste tells me that its substantial enough, but i get what you're saying.

As for combusting, i can't compare.

People who own both the Lotus and Vapman tend to favour the Lotus's flavour. And what goes in the grinder, is not all that comes out to the bowl or caught in the kif catcher.

I tend to agree. Moreover, any minor evaporation simply causes the vapor to condense elsewhere in the system until enough heat is available again to support it all the way out to you and I. Recall the stories of log vape stems being left in the heating socket overnight (as can happen.....)? The next day the taste was gone but not so the THC.......

Yeah, Up until I reach for one more hit and get smoke, where with the vapman I just stop getting vapor.

I think you'll find more then a few of us here who have rarely used their lotus once they got a vapman. Don't get me wrong I don't hate the lotus, I just like the vapman more and find using it all around more enjoyable but won't give away or sell my lotus either for those times I can use it with the wpa which is where I feel the lotus really shines. Right now all my vaping is done dry and on the sly so my vape choices tend to lend themselves best to that type of use for the time being.

@vapman Today I recieved the mica washers! They look awesome. I already sanded the middle piece and installed it. Fit perfectly. The middle piece now fits a little tighter, which is a good thing. I look forward to seeing it protect my middle piece. I hope to eventually pick up a new middle piece and install one there, too. Thanks Rene! And about your comment that you are going to go broke because you are making vapes that last forever....it just makes me want to recommend it more and buy another one (dreaming of the Bob Marley Set), with a vape station when I have the extra money of course.

Question: Can you install two or more washers or is it better to just have the one?

Hello.

Has anyone tried the MFLB dart stem ? I wonder if this flat mouthpiece has better natural comfortable feel.

Also the MFLB silicone whip draw ? I want to connect with water tool my vapman with whip so not flaming upside down.

What you think the better inhaling option is when vaping, for lungs health, for deeper and longer draws, or for both ?
a. diaphragm inhalation (stomach)
b. upper chest inhalation
c. both in the same breathe(first fill stomach, then fill upper chest)
d. does not matter

The rim of the filter is 1.0mm high, the thickness of the washer is 0.4mm, therefore it is possible to use two washers (0.8mm) at the same time. May be with two washers, the middle part has to be sanded down to the point where the hollow space behind the filter is getting very small. In this case the cavity could be enlarged with the aid of a drill (just by hand) or simply with a knife or other cutting tool.

I don't have much more experience with these washers than you guys, as soon I got these I sent them all over the planet, I am the lord of the rings....

Any feedbacks are appreciated!

So far, I only know that the filter should be hot when taking off with the washer, if not, the washer could stick to the filter and the wood at the same time making the washer split in two rings.

I haven't found any differences when comparing the conduction-y Vapman to a convection-y one like the Lotus... Not so far. I will be able to have a more refined opinion when I will have used the Vapman alongside the much anticipated RBT USB for some time. But so far it depends on the strain and my general body-mind state. Oh, and I think it's mostly conduction as well, with a little radiation and convection in the mix. Only a lab research could say this for sure though... :p

Haven't tried the Supreme unfortunately but I am pretty sure it performs much better in terms of vapor production than most vapes out there, Lotus included. But there are other factors in play aside from vapor production and there the Lotus or the Vapman or other ones can leave the Sup3 in the dust... Portability, efficiency, ease of maintenance, longevity, durability, cost etc etc...

I also don't think the Lotus is more efficient than the Vapman. Efficiency I believe with these two vapes, and many others, lies in the hand of the beholder. Oh and Vapman and Lotus are very similar in load size, they can both vape 0.05 extremely efficiently if you know how to avoid cannabinoid loss (through a bong for instance, or by puffing out big clouds of vapor for the rest of the species to enjoy...)
Yeah, Up until I reach for one more hit and get smoke, where with the vapman I just stop getting vapor.

I think it depends on how you use it. When using the Lotus regularly it usually is like you said for me, at some point it stops producing vapor, like your experience with the Vapman. If it's been a while I scorch the load sometimes. Same happens with the Vapman though. It doesn't combust easily but it can scorch a loaf from the first puff if you overdo it. So again, results are in the hands of the vaporist. They are both very capable vapes.
