Hey mate, what are the chances of getting one? It's my birthday coming up and I would love to buy myself one of these. I'm in Australia too and it is very hard to buy myself a log cape here. So if you have a unit laying about you would sell me, I'd be a very happy camper on my birthday indeed.

Very cool. I'd like to know when you have them ready to sell. I love my UD and if they recommended this I'm interested.

XD Gotta say, I'm biting nails here. As soon as the 'Dogs recommended the Hot Pod, I developed an unhealthy amount of VAS. Any word on a date, @hazy? I'm losin' it here!

Although that could just be the sun in the far north. =.=

Just a bit of an update, although not much has happened so far. Seems like I spoke too soon regarding the workshop space... the person who offered it to me, after living in the house for many years, suddenly decided to move out  Anyway, I'm determined to get things moving so probably the most important piece of the puzzle is finding an efficient way to cut the glass pieces. I've decided to make a portable jig so that I can cut the glass anywhere that I find some space.

I've also made a last minute minor tweak to the design of the pod, and I've asked the woodturner to make a few prototypes. I'll post some more info about it when I've got them in front of me ;)

Again, thanks for the enthusiasm, it really helps get me motivated. And thanks very much to UD Dave for recommending me

Looking forward to hear some updates, have wanted one since I first saw it.

Congrats on making such a nice vape from such an iconic native seed pod.

Wow, has it been almost a year since my last post? Anyway I've been doing some thinking...

I haven't heard anything from the beta testers, but what I've noticed is that I've started melting my power cords. I don't know why I didn't see this sooner; maybe I've been running hotter temps lately? Regardless, I see this as a design flaw and not something I can knowingly let loose on the public.

So I'm gonna have to come up with a new design. I can just see everyone rolling their eyes now...

The good news is that I've spent the last few months giving it some serious thought so the ideas are well advanced, and I've been doing some experiments. I don't want to say anything right now, but I'm hoping to improve the design in several areas.

One thing that I wanted to ask everyone about, I may need to depart from my favoured barrel shape design and make it just a plain cylinder instead. How does everyone feel about that?

To me the barrel shape and wood used are what attract me to your device. I think I saw that same wood used by another log vape maker but it was in a classic cylindrical shape, and I clearly found it less appealing for some reason... like if it had lost part of its personality and what makes your design stand apart.

Sorry if this wasn't what you wanted to hear but since you asked... :)
