It says the buttons been replaced by touch sensors, how has that worked out for anyone, 2 maybe lol, that has one? Has caused any accidental heatings? And will it work with gloves on?

It doesn't work with gloves...they require human heat. Through the app, you can configure the heat activation to be triggered by one or both buttons. If you set it to "both" you'll never activate it accidentally...at least that's been my experience. (You may make the LED flash some info for a second, but not turn on the heat.)

Yea, it sounds like they reworked the whole deal. I wasn't trying to be inflamatory, just saying it's possible the batteries themselves are better even at the same mAh. The batteries were mentioned by the two spokespeople in the video and it was something people were asking questions about on here. I'm pumped for this thing.

Yeah I didn't think you were being inflammatory (because, of course, Fuck Combustion, right? :p). It's just worth noting that improvements in the batteries (which are being made in a different facility than the awful first-gen FF1 batteries) are only part of the story....the way the FF2 operates has been overhauled completely, and this is a large part of what gives the device much much better battery life than FF1, even with the second-gen FF1 770 batteries.

There are touchscreen compatible gloves out there. You can even get just tips to retrofit your own gloves. But the Firefly heatup is so quick, taking your gloves off for a minute shouldn't be an issue.

Great Scott!

You don't even need tips. You can run a few strands of conductive thread through your fav gloves. Unless of course people mean it is LITERALLY heat activated, but I doubt that is the case.

I have not tried to use it with gloves that are meant for a smart phone, but with my ski gloves they definitely do not work. I have had a few really short accidental heatings, but they were always when I was picking it up, or moving the unit and I would accidently bump the button turning the heater on for only a fraction of a second. The first time I actually did this I worried accidental turn ons could be a potential problem so I have been paying close attention to see if and when it turns on accidentally and have not had anything to worry about since. I also tried to make it turn on in my pocket without luck.

Here is a photo I took for someone looking to have the FF1 FF2 and FW3 sizes compared:

(FF1 and FF2 feel nicer in my pocket due to the rounded corners, but the FF1 is quite heavy, so I actually prefer the FF2 in my pocket the most, followed by the FW3, then the FF1)

FF1 - 270grams FF2 - 140 grams FW3 - 166 grams

Edit: Someone was asking for a size comparison with the Firefly 2 the MFLB and the Pax 2:

mitchgo61,

Any idea if they are allowing reviews or impressions from those that just received the FF2? I realize they let you do it with a pre-production model, but I would imagine those they recently sent out are the final product.

I kind of assume once these things are out in the wild there will just be a flood of reviews, and at this point the device will have to withstand the use and scrutiny of a critical audience. I also assume these units are the very first handful of final production units...though sales haven't started yet, it certainly looks like that'll be happening any minute now.

Cool thanks. I wasn't sure if it was like electronics or games where they send them out and put an embargo on reviews until a certain date. That's good to know that we could get some impressions/reviews before the preorders open up.

Looking forward to your full ff2 review, Buzz!

The colors all look so slick. I love the black there. I might still go for gold if its just the cover that is colored. If the body is the same for every color I'll probably get gold and then an additional top later for switching it up.

That blue is lovely with the grey body imo

Dam so many new good looking vapes to be released, a (un)healthy does of vas and a severe lack of funds!!! I need an extra job purely to fund my worsening vas. :/

Just make sure its a position where you can make use of the new vapes. Aim for something work from home.

If you want me to take photos of anything else let me know. I had to pick up a low potency strain for testing today, I definitely over did it yesterday while testing

Can you please add a picture or two with a closer comparison between the Crafty and the FF2?

I found out the Firefly 1 external charger will charge the FF2 batteries, and I took quite a few more photos that you can check out here: http://imgur.com/a/pp2oH If you want me to take photos of anything else let me know. Nice pictures. I noticed that it comes with a USB cable. USB charging?

It has a dock that it sits on, but that plugs in via usb. I added a few more photos to the bottom of the firefly 2 album
Nice pics and comparisons, Buzz. Thx!

Can you post some pre-review thoughts here on your experience with the ff2? How do you find the taste - compared to the ff1, Crafty, and gh? How do you compare the mouthpiece between the ff1 and 2? Are you finding the need to stir before finishing a load?

Curious about your experience compared to @mitchgo61 (plus it looks like yours is a final production unit, and his is a prototype, I think).

Thx!

Have liked the FF 1, and now wondering if they have finally "perfected" it? The top case certainly looks like there will be more air flow, and easier to clean.

Don't like the idea of an app, so the only question I have is does it come with a good preset heat setting so I don't have to download and use the app?

Hoping the app isn't needed for daily usage, only for fine tuning the heat, but I prefer to do that the old fashioned way with breath control.

Also, do I need to buy new batteries , for like the 5th time, or can I still use the batteries and chargers I have.
