Got my Delrin adapter today from @stickstones, it's absolutely perfect! The MV has been crying out for something like this. It fits nicely over the lid and feels really solid. It's a bit early in the day but I couldn't resist pairing it up with the Hydratube, I'm a bit too stoned to articulate it properly but it's fucking excellent.

I'm having something of a second honeymoon period with the MV. My first month with it was awful because I didn't know how to use it and was packing the baskets tight like the Mighty. But then I finally sussed it and loved it.

Then I had a very strange problem for about 2 months where it wouldn't heat. I literally just about to send it in when it decided to work, and has done perfectly ever since.

After that I got an Evo, then the MV was unused for a while. I loved using the Hyrdatube, and the Evo was light enough to be held upside-down by a glass piece (my MV is battery powered which makes it heavy). I had to constantly hold the MV when using through water, and holding the flexione in place to get a seal paled in comparison the the Evo's sturdy glass joint.

But recently I dusted it off and have been seduced by it's charms. I think with this adapter there's not much between this and the Evo. The heat up time was my main annoyance with the MV, and I preferred the quicker time of the Evo. But let me tell you, that Evo heat up time is a lie. You need to leave it an extra 10 mins or so to hit max temp. When the light stops blinking on the MV, it really is ready.

I think the Evo edges it on taste. But the MV isn't far behind. Evo is a little smoother I think, maybe because the heater is a little further down the air path. There's something a little denser about the MV clouds though. ABV much darker in the Evo. And finally maintenance wise, MV is the cleanest vape you can get. I had a look down the Evo and it needs a clean- but that doesn't look too easy!

Oh and on Teflon v decarb.... stick with the Teflon imo. The decarb makes it a little bit more stoney, and you get a little bit more clouds, but you lose a lot of the taste. I don't think the trade-off is worth it.

Well that ended up as a right ramble but all I wanted to say is- Delrin adapter. Must have. Buy. Bye.

Got my MV with updated core from Sticks and it continues the tradition of carrying the torch for the best tasting vaporizer i've ever used! Just like @lazylathe's testing sessions...... it tastes like candy! This is my favourite strong point of this vape, although the intense amount of terpenes from a convection device like this causes me great sneezing and coughing fits from time to time..... but the positive is that I can't get that amazing taste off my smacker!

Unfortunately, as much as I love the taste, battery life, and durability of this beast, i'm pretty sure that my negatives will outweigh the positives on this one, although it could change based on me potentially doing something wrong?

Firstly, this vape is sloooooow....really slow! I didn't time it, but it felt like an eternity (maybe close to 10 mins?) waiting for the heatup to Green setting. I'm used to the digital precision of the Mighty, speeding up to any temp in less than 90 seconds. This leads me to the fixed point temp setting.....only 4 temps? The lowest can be too hot for some people (190c?) and the hottest (225 or 235) is pretty dang hot, too hot perhaps..... MV refers to it as "light combustion". I did notice combustion notes in the taste, although I was loading directly without using a basket. ABV was very, very dark brown.

Since this is a convection device, I noticed way better performance with a finer grind, however one of my biggest beefs is that i'm not getting an even vape. Is stirring required? I find when I open the cap, it's pretty messy. There is material sticking to the top screen (kinda like my Herbalizer) and the load is "pushed up" from inhaling and lots of green specs within the ABV. I feel like i've been wasting some material, because the vapour production stops, yet I have green flecks that will vape up in my Mighty.

So pretty much other than the slow speed and uneven abv, the MV is pretty amazing.... I loaded up a basket about 2/3 full with fine loose grind, and after the heatup took a long big inhale and OMG I did not expect a such a massive tasty cloud of thick vapour!

If there ever was a MV2 with a much faster heatup speed as well as a digital verson, and it wasn't so messy, I would be the first in line!

Almost there...
@biohacker

Wait till I bring you the flexicones and other accessories you are missing!
I get very even ABV on green or red, no burnt taste at all.

Mine heats up to green in around 5 minutes and it is good to go. Longer for Red but not by much, a few minutes more perhaps.

The baskets and flexicones keeps the load in one place and is very clean.

Get ready for EPIC testing on Sunday!!

Looking forward to it bro! I'm not getting the burnt taste ever since I started using the basket and not loading direct and using red. Remember, my core is upgraded with the newest firmware, so the temps are higher I believe (red 235 vs 225), but green provided a seriously massive punch to the face hit! However, it seemed to cache in that one big hit, and then there was some green bits still left. Hopefully the flexicone vs the plastic will make a difference in extraction, although I do have the long 6" flexicone type tubes that I will have to try again. I was just using a 2" glass WPA as my mouthpiece, just holding it flush against the cap until my actual derlin mouthpiece arrives.

I'll have to time how long it takes to green because it sure seemed longer than 5 mins! The battery is on level green too, so that shouldn't be a factor. I really like this vape, but i'm just too impatient to wait, and then the heater just can't keep up with my lungs, even with long slow draws...it starts blinking, and for a long time.

I didn't know that! Not that I have the a/c puck.... I wanted to see if it was a keeper and then I was going to purchase the puck. How long does it take yours to get to green and red with the puck?

Just timed it.....11 mins to green and then another 4 mins to red. Either my MV isn't working right or the battery integrity is compromised? It just came back from Sticks for the update.

The battery was on green, but i'm charging it back to 100% and re-timing the test. If this is what it's like with the battery, this vape is definitely not for me.

Thanks, so this will be an a/c only vape for me if anything. I imagine using the puck allows it to "hold" its temp better as well? It starts blinking as soon as I inhale.

I had written it down (times to temps) but just tossed it, Murphy's Law. I'll time later. Does lazylathe have an AC puck to bring along? I'm guessing 7 minutes to green??

The Flexicone baskets are critical IMO to peak performance. For me, they are the best thing since sliced bread and I modify other vapes to use them, like on the Herbalizer. I've never had to clean the mV chamber/bowl as the basket keeps it spotless.

I've learned to "work around" the startup time. Turn it on first !!! Get glass of ice water or tea. If needed, dump hydratube water and replace with distilled water or warm distilled water. Prepare herb for Flexicone, either grind or tweezer some calyxes off. Unit should then be almost there.

Hopefully your test session will show you the mV at its finest---and some of the many options.

EDIT: for me, it seems that once it is heat soaked (on for awhile), it holds the temp better.

I was curious so I clocked my heat up times to green: ~5:00 min for teflon, ~5:30 for glass. Faster than I expected. This is starting around 70*F, using the AC puck. I almost never use the battery these days, but I sometimes will switch over to battery after heating up with AC just to move around the house. I take pretty large draws and it doesn't start to blink until the end of the draw, then takes about 5-15 seconds to stop blinking.

I always use the baskets and find that it cooks evenly, but I also go the extra mile to ensure that it does. I usually remove the delrin adapter+lid+flexicone+screen (all together as one big unit) from the heater as I finish each draw anyway, so it's easy to just give it a shake before screwing it back on for the next draw. when I'm done, cooked loads just fall out of the basket and leave almost no mess to clean up.

Negative, but now I know that my battery is working properly (I think). But his core isn't updated, so perhaps his heats up faster?

I must be doing something wrong....it's quite difficult to remove the basket from the heater for me. It kind of sticks and I need to pry up on the rim to get it out. If I could have a self contained basket unit with flexicone, perhaps that will be the game changer!

Looking forward to a proper test on sunday @lazylathe !

You need to put the basket rim into the flexicone rim- they snap together, and stay together.

I timed my Teflon before and it still remains ~5 min. to solid green on fully charged battery from a cold start ( room temp. of 68f ). Never timed my glass core.

Hey, brand new here, sticksandstones helped me with my minivap purchase back during the blackfriday sale. I've raved about the minivap/vaporizers to anyone who will listen since.

Can anyone give me a good guide for cleaning the teflon interior section, as well as dis-assembly to clean the screens on the interior?

I just want to make sure everything is 100% clean.

Also I'm interested in using the minivap upside down with a bong.

Any Tips? I see some people doing it I'm not sure how to do it and what bong I should be looking at so it doesn't tip over.

Thanks!

Hey @biohacker give her a chance..i had q love hate with my mv for a bit. It seemed like it worked then it seemed like it didnt and now it just plain out works..i have glass and teflon and decarb kit and i often complained about slow heat up and recovery time to sticks but honestly the puck is a game changer with the heat retention. I love my girl to death now..i love both cores..both have good things about them..and i use basket occadionally but usually just direct pack but still put the rimmed screen with flexicone over my load and it plain rips. And to buddy above us i would have said to get a wong from sticks but he has the delrin adapter now so just go ahead and get that cuz it is the way to go with a bong..

Hello mate

You can use it with just the Flexicone and no lid on any 14mm joint bubbler, but you have to hold it in place.

I got an adapter from @stickstones which is fantastic and lets me use it on an 18mm bubbler without having to hold it. I also ordered one from @Ratchett

I have an MFLB Orbiter; from DHGate a FC-711 and FC1000; and a hydratube from my Evo, and it works great with all of them.

If you use it with the battery it's a bit top heavy and you have to watch out for that.

Using with just a basket vs basket/Flexicone module : Flexicone module is MUCH better!
Picture below: Flexicone snaps into cover so comes right out when you unscrew cover.
Note: I rarely use this shorty mouthpiece but it was best to show how Flexicone snaps into cover

@biohacker ,
so what exactly do you use now? Wire basket and round screen? and ??

EDIT:
@abcd5432 ,
upside down, I assume you mean onto a "bubbler" like below.
Flexicone module can be inverted directly into glass, invert miniVAP without a cover, enjoy.
It does not balance by itself this way so hit and remove miniVAP

Yeah they do. It's a 14mm GonG male connection.

This is the other side..

And yes.. That is a delicious lump
of golden-yellow MV reclaim.
Mains AC inversion. I use a reducer to mate to my water tool. Unless I use my fbomb.. uninverted 14 mm works fine on its own(without reducer/expander.

I was thinking something like this?

I wanted to pair it with a Chinese Glass bong with a similar design like this:

Try soaking the insert in ISO to clean in. The screens can just be removed with a needle or pliers.

A new unit should reach red temp in eight minutes on the puck. All other timed combos are variable dependent. When I test and calibrate units, the eight minutes to red is the standard I am shooting for.

Sorry this is short...not at a computer today.

I was using a basket with just the hard plastic cone/screen, but last night I added the round rimmed screen on top of the basket as well, and it wasn't "as" messy. Results were MUCH better....OMG the vapour production of nice clouds with blue in it! Heavier hitter than I first though, on temp green.... red seems way to hot/harsh with a fine grind with tastes of hints of combustion. Blue and purple seem too light for me, which means that green is the only useable temp.

I'm over the heatup time, which I think is mainly a function of a slightly worn battery, and after adjusting my draw, I noticed it holding its temp alot better.

Think i'm enjoying the MV more than my recent Grasshopper! It surely is a beast!

Can't wait to test the flexicone and derlin mouthpiece! I really want to love and keep this vape!

I forgot to add...don't sweat the button blinking during or after a hit. All it's letting us know is that it is stabilizing the temp like any vape does when you draw on it. The temp doesn't drop more than a few degrees C with the strongest of draws. Just relax and don't overthink it...enjoy the session like only the MV can deliver!
