Hell ya on every aspect. @HellsWindStaff i can't wait to see what we find either. What I'm wondering the most about this device is the difference in hits. Will it hit as hard as the Zion? Will it get as much love from the Zteam as the Zion? Will we see mass chaos when it hits the market? These are the questions that keep me up during the day(3rd shifter here).

Oh ya. What the hell we gonna name it. Not gonna lie I did love the little story/reminder from @Farkas with the name Neo. That has a great story and meaning to it. At least there's a meaning to it. But what do I know. I love TOD for the extinct dual unregulated triangle of death bitches. For some reason I always want to put bitches behind the triangle of death part.

I think once you learn the ins and outs of the vape, the performance loss due to the battery being discharged would be useful as "battery level indicator" feedback. When you start needing longer pre-heats to get the desired results, then you know it's time to throw the battery on the charger.

Oh my god I thought I wanted the Zion but have shifted over to this little beauty recently. Probably mostly because it will be much easier to convice the minister of finance (read as the wife) of the outlay for this, and because while in preorder i can still get it shipped to Australia... Oh yeah and cause it is just so sexy!!! While i catch up on the thread though does anyone have an idea on how many of the 50 are left? In other words do I have time to scrape funds together or should I just wack it on the credit card and deal with the fall out :rip:
Cheers!

Thats how I have always read the batteries in the MFLB, ESV and Firewood 3. Your hits quickly deminish in production as soon as you hit that level in the battery.

Well I don't know what you did @Copacetic you must have been sending some serious good vibes my way man. Because when I floated the idea of adding to the already scary credit card ballance (wrong time of the year) to mrs Robbo there wasn't even a hint of resistance just a resigned 'what ever makes you happy dear.' so...

:razz::clap::rockon::tup:

I'm officially in the queue cant wait of course but am glad to know this is not gonna be rushed and am happy to wait and watch
Jeez its like a weight has lifted off my shoulders I've been so jumpy wondering if I would miss out... now I know I can't :science:

P.s. Thanks for the little push I needed and the good vibes to follow up Copa

My pleasure TheRobbo !

I'm going to get a miniature brass plaque made for my USB when it gets here:
"Copacetic, enabling recidivist vapers since 2016" copperplate typeface, the works

Now I think a bunch of flowers is in order yeah?
( for Mrs TheRobbo, not me )

Did you get it so soon because you're one of the beta testers for this poorly named vape?

Is the stem retractable? Not very pocket friendly to have it if the stem sticks out like that.

Sorry I put the pics on the wrong photobucket. Will up them again tomorrow.

@namasteIII , it is not retractable. This beta is to test the Zion heater technology in an unregulated capacity. It is utilizing a stock short Zion stem. RBT discussed engineering a solution for that. He is full bore in Zion production land but tossed this together because I begged him. I saw he needed a little break from manufacturing to let the little engineer out to play for a few hours to remind him of why he puts 80 hour weeks to deliver the Zions.

First impressions:

1)First hit on a fully charged battery can roast a pretty big load FAST!
2) ABV seems to be the same as Zion nice and uniformly toasted.
3) It fits in my pocket fine. Using a toothbrush holder for the stem for now
4) My first run I got 6 sessions before I lost vapor. Remember this is completely unregulated, no chip to shut off the battery. When you detect a performance drop it is time to charge. I suspect I will be able to get more low temp hits as I learn to feather the trigger button.
5) I really like the copper battery busbar/battery stopper. It just looks snazy.

Things to work on:
1) The air inlet needs to be adjusted a bit and it will have the same Zion signature vapor. I was able to achieve it by carbing it.
2) As mentioned the mouthpiece storage solution.
3) RBT mentioned he will be able to shave a bit off the size in production.

P.S. I am out of concentrate at the moment but I have not doubt it has the power required.

Congrats Mr P!
This is all VERY encouraging

Given the feedback from Zion owners so far, this statement is almost INFLAMMATORY!

LOL'd hard here! It's so true.

I love the form factor here, can't wait to see more.
This vape must be the best looking one I've seen (literally for me).

But working your balls off for 80 hours a week can't be sustainable!
As impatient as we are for this vape, RBT needs to look after himself.
But I suppose it does at least sound like he's planning to hamd off some of the production to others.

I'm going to re-start my search for a wood/bamboo tube to store a mouthpiece.
I bought some nice wooden screw-together tubes, but sadly they aren't big enough to accommodate an 18mm jointed piece.
I'm thinking maybe a small Japanese tea caddy?
Need a project to keep me occupied until this thing starts hitting doorsteps beyond Mr P's

Nice @MrPeanut! Thought it might be for you when we saw it teased...

So how does it compare to the 14mm single battery prototype you have? I'm sure it trounces it with the greater power, 18mm, plus the actual trigger, right?

Zion killer seems reasonable, its maxed out with one button and no dial for simplicity, no fancy chips, just raw battery power, less than half the size and still less than half the price... Yeah it's a winner

Stem storage wise, I still say it could be a triangle with a cap some day, but for simplicity sakes a wooden caddy would work to care a stem or two or four, maybe a leather wallet or something would be good too as discussed previously. But I think I might like a cap for the heater regardless? Wih a stem loaded its all sealed up though, does it have the stem lock so it doesn't fall out?

@Shit Snacks, I have a single 18350 10mm unit (one of a kind). Yes indeed the button makes it much nicer. This 18650 single is leaps and bounds better in every aspect.

I only chatted w/ RBT briefly about the stem I did not want to distract him TOO much. No stem lock on this and I do not think it is really needed. IMHO. Once those engineers start tinkering they are hard to get back on track. Glad to see he is right back to shipping Zions lol.

Pictures still to come. I have to get a new photobucket account or something.

Oh my oh my!! So glad to hear the sweet news @MrPeanut! Especially after such a nice birthday night out. I hope you have a hell of a time with the beta! Can't wait for my beauty to come in! She is already late you know and I blame her big bro for this! Yeah right Zion, I am looking at you! Those big brothers always give us honest, younger sister lovers a hard time... :luv:

PS: Good call on not distracting RBT more...
