Discontinued Daisy vaporizer by Triihouse

Deceptively Old Fart
Just gave my Daisy a very thorough cleaning, been using it a lot so it really needed it.

All you new Daisy owners, remember to clean her regularly and at any sign of dropped performance. A clean Daisy is essential for keeping the airpath nice and wide open and to let the convection magic happen in the bowl. Over time particulates will build up into a kind of "gunk" there, so be mindful of scraping that out on occasion. I've even revaped some of that buildup, it actually tasted quite good.

Plus cleaning is the simplest way to achieve longevity. Do it regularly to avoid build up that will make cleaning harder and more laborious. I actually had to do a dry run or two to heat up the metal transfer tube to loosen up and come out.

I use 151 rum on q tips to scrub her out until the tips don't dirty up as much and the wood inside returns to a lighter color (used about 15 qtips, both ends, during this cleaning). One solid push through the metal tube can collect a decent amount of reclaim on the qtip cotton you can dry out on a window sill and then consume it.

Now time to butter her up. It's work but a labor of love.

Edit: Forgot to mention an important reason to clean - dirty Daisies increase the risk of combustion, the decreased airflow can raise the heat in the bowl and dry material ignites more easily. A big culprit of this is a clogged screen. Clogged screens can happen more frequently than the whole Daisy will need a cleaning, so you can remove those and either replace them or torch off the clogged areas and brush them off for reuse. It's pretty easy to know when airflow is restricted because a clean Daisy has almost zero restriction.

Just picked mine up from the post office! Won't be able to break her in until later on after work though. Buddies got their Lilys too so we're doing a Triifest tonight (ok Zion and VapCap will be there as well...)

That little hollow below the glass mouthpiece is a giant reclaim cache as well. The only really usable reclaim imo though, I don't really like the stuff that builds up in the glass mouthpiece, and definitely don't like the solid resin that builds up below the screen. Just gotta remember to scoop the good stuff out before it fills and clogs the metal tube.

Sounds like great fun! Just a random unnecessary thought, but I wonder if the VapCap would fit into the Daisy intake hole?

Another unnecessary thought- If you could mate the Daisy mouthpiece to an 18.8mm male joint you could then use your Daisy mouthpiece on the Zion...I bet that would be a killer experience!

I've got an adapter coming for my Zion, that should also let me seat my HydraTree as a Daisy mouthpiece...:uhoh::drool:

Must see pictures of Daisy or Zion with a HydraTree...no doubt it is drool worthy!

Can you send a link of what the adapter looks like? I may have one already and just not smart enough to have figured out it would work.

It's actually a custom, 18-14 should do it, 14 fits in the whole at the bottom beneath the standard MP, just needs to be tall enough to clear, so this one is r inches (also so it can be a spare Zion stem, stored inside, has a cut iso joint so it will fit into the Zion bowl)

I actually posted a shot of Zion with the HydraTree and more over in that thread... But expect a few Daisy and Lily pics here tonight probably, unless we're all too zonked to bother

@Farkas and @Shit Snacks Glad to hear you're enjoying your Triihouse experience! Love hearing about the Daisy, although it's a true pity that in the future we will be the few who ever got to have one.

Just an update on my previous posts about finding a lighter for the daisy: Found this baby from fasttech:

https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...st-503-pen-style-butane-jet-torch-and-lighter

And it works AMAZING. Very easy to hold it almost completely inverted, and you don't have to hold down any buttons. The igniter is also on the butt end of the pen, so you can just tap it on a table/your leg to light it up. It also has an adjustable flame that can either be a nice (perfect for Daisy) size torch, or just a normal flame like from a Bic. It also comes filled with butane (they must transport via ship I guess). Anyway, I'm probably buying 3 for under $20 and never having to worry about a vape lighter again!

Huh, I never tried shoving a 14 in there. Male or female? I presume the 18 end is a Male right? Maybe I will try sticking a 14 in there sometime now.

I do recall the Zion/HydraTree pics now...was off my meds!

Haha yeah male to male, 14 male seemed to fit right in the Daisy when tried with a too short adapter, hence double duty for my Zion one. Don't know when that will arrive though... Still waiting on my pwnt and 18mm female mouthpieces from a trade (also the gn0me!)

Any reason to use rum and not ISO? Is it a "this is what I have in the house, so..." type situation, or a choice to use that for cleaning?

Thank you dude. They are well loved.

Unfortunately it's looking very unlikely that Waldo will ever show up to the party now though . . . .
I guess a full TriiHouse was never to be . . . at least for me.

I guess I'll make do with the girls though, and to be fair, they're enough of a handful!

Good to see you back here dude! Hope you're doing well... Now pop in on the Zion thread whydontcha? ;)

Meanwhile my Daisy is still breaking in her fresh cherry wood taste, was pretty harsh at first but getting better and better just as my Walnut Lily did. One thing that's interesting, is my Daisy doesn't seem to whistle as much/loud as my buddy's (one of the original square ones, mine is like yours Veg, but cherry. Other buddy had an even newer cherry one, bigger curves and smaller overall, logo slightly higher too).

Anyway I hope to pop in again with photos when I'm home (and getting Daisy hooked up to some water tools as well:brow:)

@Shit Snacks I would like to give you credit for the inspiration of this. I realized a few hits after the photo was taken that the glass straw creates a lot of restriction. I removed it and put a smaller mouthpiece on the top of the bubbler and it hits like a bong pretty much!

Deserves to be a sticky. Daisy deserves a Best Of thread, nominating your post.

(humbly said in the short time I've had with her)

Haha i thought something was missing man, was waiting for you to follow up lol

My Daisy tubing didn't go too well yet, its really hard to get the flame right from that angle high up above... But HydraTree definitely seals well!

I agree, the flame control becomes much harder. With the original Daisy setup the intake is right there in front of your eyes so it is easy to see how far the flame is from the intake. When your 6 inches or so above it you know are looking down and can't quite tell if the flame is in the intake or above it or not. Trying to juggle between making sure your seeing where the flame is and gauging feedback from the vapor in the bubbler sure do make this a challenge, but one with a very big reward!
