Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

The grind seems to make a difference to many of us. I prefer a bit of a fine grind, although I use a regular grinder to get it done as opposed to the MFLB finishing grinder. There's plenty of BS around, for sure, but the use of a quality grinder wouldn't be on that list if I were making it.

I prefer a medium/fine grind for my EVO. Fine enough that I have to use a little herb scoop to scoop the herbs into the ELB. Not powder fine. My typical grinding method is, throw nugs in the Space Case, Turn 1 rotation right, turn 1 rotation left, turn 1 rotation right, 1 left, etc, until no resistance. I find that gives me the perfect grind for the vast majority of my vapes. Medium/Fine. Certainly are some decent sized chunks in it still.

I just got a text message that my new glass is waiting for me at the house :0 I can't wait to hook the EVO up to it later and try them out! I'll be sure to share. Actually kind of excited to try because these don't have the most percolation on em. Lots of my glass is more scientific and these just have 3-4 hole downstems, so will be cool to try with something that is probably more of a "flavor saver". Even the percs keep the flavor in tact though with regards to the EVO, so I can only imagine how my stuff will taste out of these!

The website just put up new Hydratubes and Vape packages. They're going for 449.99 down from 599.99. A couple of you said that there will be a Valentines day sale, as of now those packages say sale next to the price. Will they be cheaper than that on valentines?

Also between the Hydrabomb, HydraHoneyComb and the Turbine, which do you think is best?

I don't know if anyone knows for sure, but what the site says today always seems to be subject to change by tomorrow, aside from potential sales. I wouldn't worry yet.

Woo hoo!! I went ahead and just ordered a Turbine package anyway. I've heard that the CS is great and if a major sale happens in the next couple weeks I will request a price adjustment--if that's against their policy, oh well, WORTH IT!

I'm huge on flavor conservation when vaping so that's why I went with the Turbine.

And it goes on....

After having my Evo returned because of it produced some disgusting taste above 1 o'clock setting (switch back 2-3 pages if you are interested) I now have received the new unit. I have been testing it the 3rd day in a row now.
Aaaaaaanddddd.... tadaaaa... today again. Strange strange taste on that one bowl i took right about now. Not that disgusting taste like the one before, but at least it was really strange tasting, left me back with a surprised face. CAN THIS REALLY BE TRUE?!?!
The first time everyone here said this is nearly impossible because of its glass-airpath etc.
Then the team of the shop told me that the unit had a problem with the heater and this was the problem. OKAY, i thought, it's a really bad luck for me. Waited 2 weeks for the new unit and now this. HAHA i don't know if i should laugh or just cry. I bought 2 hydra tubes, several ELBs, spent over 1000$ for stuff and i simply cannot get ONE unit which gives me NO worries ?!?!?
It is already now the case that every bowl i vape i am afraid that this plastic taste can occur again.
Please someone who can tell me... anything?? :(

edit: i think i definitely will send it in again and get a refund of the money. The problem is, what is with the hydra tubes? Sold out everywhere... and so the vaporizer itself. the shop has it on stock but i don't want any Evo's from them anymore. All the other shops are out of stock.

HAHAHA WHY has this all be so damn fucked up. cannot believe it.

Just wanted to share my experience with Vaporizers.ca so that others can avoid the mistake I made. I ordered a Cloud Evo from them in late Dec and received it in early Jan. Unit worked great up until about a week ago where I was combusting just about every ELB I loaded. Initially I thought it was because my material was too dry and I had the heat at 3 o'clock. I decided to load less and turn down the heat(12 o'clock then 9 o'clock) but even then I was still combusting.

It was at this time I reached out to Vaporizers.ca via email on Jan 27. I didnt receive a response the next day(Jan 28) from them so I decided to reach out to VapeXhale via email to cover my bases. On Jan 29, I revisited Vaporizers.ca to look over the warranty page and noted that they say to follow up if I dont get a response in 3 days(pretty crummy customer service if the client has to follow up because they cant be bothered to read their emails). I followed up on Jan 29 with Vaporizers.ca and to this day I still have not received a response. VapeXhale responded to me on the same day(Jan 29) and they sorted me out.

From my experience, it seems that once Vaporizers.ca has your money, dont expect to hear from them again. Just to note, im still using the same unit but at 12 o'clock exclusively and no longer combusting. Im not sure what happened, maybe a break in period but it seems to be working fine now.

If you're desperate to use it you can try taping up the seams at the bottom then put a heat safe Oring over the bamboo (the glass piece protruding from the base). A Mighty O-ring would work. The base doesn't get hot so you could really use any Oring & cutting a sticker or using some tape on the seams would be fine. That should seal any smell it into the unit & wont allow any off gassing or foreign flavour to be drawn into the glass tube as you use it.
From what I've read there's not supposed to be anything in there that could cause off gassing. At least if you seal any slight openings in the base nothing should be able to get into the air path unless the bamboo is broken.
I know you shouldn't have to do this but if you are really keen to use it, & you sound like you are, then this should work. It's definitely worth a try & might get you up & running. You must be a bit disappointed & frustrated, all the best & good luck.

Been considering selling my sublimator for an evo, currently own a cloud plus and was wondering if any cloud plus users had comparisons between the two and if upgrading is worth it?

If you don't want to use the vapexnails there's not much point, if you do then it's a another story. You probably do hey.
I only use flower & for me I didn't notice a great deal of difference between the two. The Cloud made my glass dirtier but I wasn't able to ever do a side by side comparison.
I'm hoping to buy a sub later this year & I'd probably buy a Cloud again if they were still being made.
This wasn't much help was it :uhoh:

Sup Evo users.

It's been awhile since I've logged in, real quick, anything new happen in the last 3 months with the Cloud Evo; I checked stonemonkeys posts and didn't see anything.
I remember the last significant thing to happen was they added an automatic shutoff for if the unit where to go rogue and overheat.

Haven't been able to use my Evo in quite awhile, I do have a newer updated version with that shut off safety feature; look forward to getting clouded up again.

Don't do it! I have had all 3 in unison on my desk for the past 6 months or so sub,evo & plus. The sublimator is the only one I would buy again. The evo is better than my plus but not by much. The draw feels a tad nicer more efficient - quicker to extract and maybe a hair thicker in vapor but its not that big of a difference to my c-plus certainly not worth selling the king sub. Ime the differences are minor and almost negligible in fact i find the biggest difference is the weight of the units haha. I am using 240v units. Now my evo is having major issues and I do not feel the units are resolved fully.

My 240v Indiegogo funded Evo is overheating every time its turned on. The unit is unusable now I might get one elb done before the unit overheats in the blink of an eye and get so hot the glass is glowing red hot. Herbs turn to fire obviously. (sound familiar to anyone with the original batch 240v evos?) This batch however is different the evo always knows it has overheated and kicks in a 3 red led flash which goes on until the unit i switched off. So it doesn't melt itself to goo but rather it is completely unusable. I cant just turn it back on of course because of the annoying flashing green led code when the unit is turned on and its still warm. This happens every time I try to use it so its useless and dangerous. I am now using the sub and c-plus only.

Now we were told that we would have to send our units to our local distributors (much cheaper) but after contacting vxl about my faulty evo I was told to send it to them in america at my cost. See quote by Seibo Shen about domestic distributors below. Middle paragraph.

Thank you very much for trying to help!! At least one person who doesn't just say "this is impossible, the Evo cannot off gas". - well seems like some units CAN, but no one is gonna believe me, already recognize that!

I will try it out, thanks. At least with the next unit, because i am not going to keep that current model.
But thanks for the hint!

Are you sure it's not your herbs that taste funny? You wrote:

Seems unlikely to me.. that two units would go wrong, AND give a different wrong taste.

Hey everybody, so I've been hesitant coming and talking on this thread before my Evo actually arrived (worried I'd jinx it somehow like I did when I got my defective Firefly).... butttt, I just got a call saying a mysterious package arrived at my door! Damn! They billed me via PayPal for my Evolver Double Starter Kit last Thursday or Friday only.

Now I'm trying to leave early so I can go home and try the Cloud lol. Any tips for the first use? I've seen people mention they've done burn offs before, and now after reading some of these latest 'off gas' posts I think it doesn't hurt.

How long should I burn it off for? Any other starter tips? Thanks, I'm so excited! :D

Preheat it at least for 10 minutes, so you get the maximum performance.
Vape at 12-1 o'clock, if you want to experience the best taste it can offer.
Or at 2-3 o'clock if you want to milk it for the first time.
Take the longest draws you can take, this vape performs best when you take long draws as it takes a while till gets going.
That because of pure convection and large volume of the hydratube (compared to vape mouthpieces).

Sometimes, it does offgas from the bottom when it's been on for a while on high temp. Especially if you leave it inverted.
I don't think you can burf this off, the longer you keep the unit, the more of this you will get. If you don't want it to offgas, then don't leave it inverted and don't leave it running 24/7. Give it a cooldown after like every 20-40 minutes of being on. Anyway, the offgasing is coming from the electronics chamber and that is completely separated from the airpath.
Even if you would suck it back in through the intake, it would be a neglible ammount that you couldn't even taste.

I never get off gasing, but i did do a 3hour burn off on Max( reset twice). I also saw someone say that inverting it can be stressful on the joint. I invert the EVO daily with no problems. I have20 something rigs that require the EVO be inverted.I have about 10 or 11 Hydratubes and they get the least use mainly because they are more rare and unique
