What is the diff between the 'easy' valve and the 'classic' valve?

The solid valve requires you to put it together it's 3 or 4 parts I believe plus it has an adjustable screen size that you insert on top of your material, the other difference is the bags themselves, you have to male them yourself but you also decide on your size.

The easy valve is all made up for you all you do is spin off the easy valve top from the bottom, fill it, remove the mouthpiece from the bag, place the bag, and then place the mouthpiece on when your bag is ready.

Honestly I think you could read just the last two pages and you'd get a good idea.

Basically do you want to make your own sized bags or are you happy with 2 or 3 footers already made up for you

If you want the volcano to be even more convenient get the easy valve it's easier to clean/use. Also if you want to use a tiny amount of material like a smidgen or less with the easy valve just place the liquid pad, it help.

Buy from Canada at planetvape it's 579CAD$ which means like 400usd

Wow, I had shopped around a bit and the best I found was $749 CAD for the Digit, the price you're quoting is for the Classic right? It seems even cheaper now but the Digit is $699 CAD so I'll probably buy from there.

Tbone gave his view having owned the easy valve, I owned the solid valve and think its design is infinitely better. The main benefits to the solid valve is that is has a clever telescoping mechanism for the top filter which makes the herb chamber infinitely adjustable from incredibly small to incredibly huge. The bags also cost a fraction of the price and can be custom sized but you do need to tie a knot at the end and use the provided clip to clip it to the valve, and they tend to last many months so this simple procedure doesn't have to be done often. The easy valve chamber isn't an adjustable size so for smaller amounts you need to add a metal pad to fill up the empty space, this doesn't allow you to use any amount you want like the solid valve as you basically have two sizes, with or without the pad. This metal pad will also inevitably require cleaning and replacing as it wears out.

I think the Volcano's main benefit is the infinitely adjustable size telescoping herb chamber, by getting an easy valve you're eliminating what is to me one of the Volcano's biggest benefits. In fact, I was going to get the Plenty instead but forgot about it when I saw it basically works like the Volcano's easy valve which requires a metal pad for smaller amounts.

I think the main decision factor should be do you want to be able to use any amount you want with a telescoping herb chamber or be limited to only 2 chamber sizes (with or without a pad)? The easy valve may be more convenient by not needing to be cleaned every few weeks or months but that's just because you need to throw it out and buy new expensive valves and bags. The solid valve is easy to clean, I just soaked the parts in iso every few months.

Yes I'm talking about the classic.

Btw, I have stated two maybe three times now that the easy valve has "infinite" amounts of sizes too you can do exactly the same telescopic effect with the liquid pad it doesn't matter how much material you put in the easy valve, you can always use the liquid pad and it'll work.

Aren't planet vapes prices Canadian though, that would make it much cheaper

Anyone who wants to own a volcano right now should order it from a Canadian vendor since our dollar is so poor right now! Help us out a bit by buying our cheap, high end stuff!

Nope, the Volcano is a bag vaporizer. That's its purpose. The only dual purpose vapes that I know of (although I'm pretty new to vaporizing myself) are the Airizer Extreme Q, known for bieng a jack of all trades but master of none, and the new Super Surfer, which is a bit too new to tell for sure.

Damn.

So what is the best non-bag vap? Can someone give me a link to a thread that's discussing that?

I just don't think I want to do the bag thing...

Most vapes are not bag vapes. There are lots of popular ones and not necessarily a "best". Personally I recently sprung for the Silver Surfer (http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/silver-surfer-vaporizer.2/), but I haven't received it yet so I can't speak to it. But I have read a ton about it over the last 2 years or so and basically no one has anything negative to say about the unit. It's built to last, gives solid rips through a tube. But there are many other solid vaporizers.

Have you seen this thread yet? http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/things-to-consider-when-purchasing-your-first-vaporizer.464/

Edit: Oh, I suppose I should have mentioned the Plenty! The Plenty is made by Storz & Bickel, the same who make the Volcano. That's about all I know about it, other than that it looks like a Black & Decker power tool.

Okay if you want an amazing whip vape these are the mid to high end ones. Honestly the Silver surfer could be considered high end, but only once you master it!! The rest of these are easy as pie,but the price can matter too and if it does get the

DA BUDDHA VAPE, by 7th floor, a lot like the ssv just a bit less money, it has a few differences, the main being it's not angled and it's hands free. About 200$ I believe

Silver surfer by 7th floor. Trust me this thing will get you to the 7th floor once you master it. Price is around 300 I believe depending on which customs you want. If you want it to also blow bags you can buy the upgraded Super Silver Surfer this will be your best option for a great whip and bag vape at a budget imo. There are others but they don't compare to the shop of thee Silver Surfer in this price range.

Then we have the Plenty which is made by the Volcano guys Storz and Bickel and it's amazing, it really gives you plenty of vapor but it's generally better with more material than less but it's good with less too just shines with more. 339$ for this one or so

Then we have the Aromed, my personal choice, for 400$ you get the best vapor quality because of a few reasons one the heat element is a light, so it's clean very clean, the water filtration helps smooth it out even though it's technically optional since you do not need to fill with water if you don't want, and the light is above to herbs so they aren't constantly cooking it also does something no other vape I can think of does, it feels like with every hit, it's the 2nd or 3rd hit, as in its always fresh, sometimes I'm sipping away wondering why hardly any things being produced and it's brown already and just doesn't taste stale. The aromed is in a league of its own and I recommend you check this video for the best tips on it should you decide to get it https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HMWLG09s2G4&ved=0ahUKEwioiJKJmN3KAhUKymMKHVxgBrEQuAIIJDAB&usg=AFQjCNGdVQN8s74YKtCcGkrsNNq2gC60SQ&sig2=Av13NB_rmiFFM4QlBS8E9w

Then there's the herbalizer which is also uses a light as a heat source and is also very precise like the aromed, it blows balloons like the volcano, which the aromed doesn't. The Herbalizer is amazing and smooth even without the water and if you have the Money and want it to also blow balloons go for this. The Herbalizer will run you around 689$

Edit... A great portable that's on the same level as some of these is the Mighty, also made by Storz and Bickel. 500$

The Volcano can also be a non bag vape and since you live in the states you can find one that other have never seen ,There is a glass hookah made for the volcano 4 man hose that was around a few years ago

I cant find a pic however .and if search you find whips made to fit over the herb chamber

and one can always attach a whip to the bag for whatever reason btw bags are great perfect when watching a movie or playing games just fill the bag and inhale as needed.

Just found a website offering tested and cleaned used volcanos. They offer buy backs minus a fee of course for up to three months and trade in s.

Thinking about getting the analog for $300 used. A used digital is $400. All I would need to swing for after that is the easy valve starter kit.

Any thoughts for or against me making the purchase?

Go for it.

that's a fair price i would do the analog one and avoid the digi one due to lack of warranty.

I had the classic one and the mechanical thermostat is a very fragile mechanism directly connected to the temperature control knob. Mine once fell hitting the knob which knocked the mechanism out of alignment and the Volcano wouldn't heat at all after the fall. Luckily I know how these work and was able to get it back to a usable range but the temperatures didn't align like they did before.

The Digit would not be damaged by such a fall as there are no mechanical parts like in the classic, that's why for my third time owning a Volcano I'm going with the Digit for the first time for more accurate temp control and durability so it lasts me longer than the fragile classic version.

I also recommend the solid valve, I believe its design makes the Volcano far more efficient while significantly reducing your usage costs.

I love my Volcano, but is a group unit imo, better off used with multiple people. It you are coming from bongs, you are best of getting a Silver Surfer and a water piece as the ritual is similar, and it can be loaded for single rips, whereas the Volcano can't, it fills bags at a time from a large bowl.

Both are epic vapes, and each of them are better in each area described above. Buy both :)

I had no problems using mine alone, and really like that you can load a lot to get really dense strong vapor, it can kind of make "espresso vapor" (it also has the same type of pump as an espresso machine but for air instead of a weak fan). None of the vapes I had since the Volcano (EQ, Solo, Pax, LSV) are able to have as strong as an effect as I remember from the Volcano.

One thing I remember neglecting with my original Volcano classic was cleaning the screens, I would use it for weeks or months with completely clogged screens which reduce efficiency significantly (and I still loved it). Now that I had a direct draw LSV where you can feel the resistance of a clogged screen I now swap it about daily and keep extras soaking in iso to always have a clean screen. With my next Volcano I will keep the screen clean by keeping extras soaking in iso as I've been doing since having the LSV, this means it will perform much better than my previous clogged Volcano.

One of the reasons I signed in tonight was to report that although I had been using my Easy valve with a screen placed on small loads (instead of a liquid pad), I am again now experimenting with small loads with NO screen or pad.
I'm having great results!! And it complements my method of sticking at one temperature, and adding a pinch of product for each bag, so the more I add the more it might stay still inside.
In fact,
it's also worth pointing out that I asked S&B which system has the potential to do better with small loads, and they recommended the easy valve.
They don't ever mention using the pad with herbs in the manual, they just say to lay it out on the screen.
The reason I was using the screen on top was because the pad was a pain to get out of the chamber each time IMO, and then the screen I shaped got real rough edges and stressed my fingers in the end!

I'm also cleaning and reusing the Easy valve bag components with turkey bags ATM, there are vids on youtube explaining how its done. I think I may buy a roll of the Volcano bag, as I prefer how narrow they are, although the turkey bags are more quiet when new.
That said, even I would not rule out buying a Solid valve kit for myself to try sometime,
as I realize that, like most good vapes, and like the Classic and Digit, the Easy and Solid valve, there is probably not a better or a worse one, just good at different things or in different ways to the other one!

and one can always attach a whip to the bag for whatever reason btw bags are great perfect when watching a movie or playing games just fill the bag and inhale as needed.

True, or you can get an adaptor for the bags to fit water tools (possibly only for Easy valve?). But yes, the bags alone are fun!
Somebody actually said on here that it's an outdated method and stale!! I think it's excellent because it mixes the early vape tastes with the mid to late strong vapors, so the bag tastes good from start to finish everytime.
Also it's good going into smelly or tobacco smoke environments with a bag, it will not affect the vapor quality inside!
The other good quality is the high flow rate that can be achieved, I'd imagine it's also great for water tools to have almost zero draw resistance at the source!

I had no problems using mine alone, and really like that you can load a lot to get really dense strong vapor, it can kind of make "espresso vapor" (it also has the same type of pump as an espresso machine but for air instead of a weak fan). Me too! I've been using this daily since I got it over two months ago, in fact it's much easier to use it alone, you don't have to wonder if you need to use one bag or two, or keeping mouthpieces separate for each person, as it gets a little gay or unhealthy pushing your mouth against a common piece of plastic.
Besides the whole thing of where the unit resides and pumps most of its air, and, that bag has been partly filled with the owners farts in the past haha!

In other news there is some great info relating to "certain" uses of the Volcano contained in the manual for the Volcano Medic. Things that they dont really mention in the normal manual if you get me.
I was wondering where the people in these videos got their temperature settings from, perhaps it was in the Medic manual?

The fuck...
When I got my Volcano I remembered seeing that show where they were all sucking on the bags, I lol'd when I looked again and saw it was a Digit with easy valve like mine,
but then I became interested at how they arrived at 210C for a temperature setting.
First I thought it was probably for the hash they're talking about, but after reading the medic manual, and toying about, it's my current favourite setting for herb or solids.
Even a little higher, 214C (setting 8), gives a roasty popcorny taste that is less present at 210C.
210C is very close to the 208C (setting 7.5) that somebody recommended here a page or two back.

The older presenter guy in those videos, that was some hefty looking dose they were giving him to try!! That dutch herb is quite strong and if they gave him that much at 210C HAHA!
I've also been using that 8 second rule, or probably around 5 seconds normally, plus the odd breathing technique like the manual recommends, and I've been holding the vape from my other vapes in longer too after seeing this show again.
It works! not sure if it's just lack of oxygen!

I'm starting to get closer to buying the Volcano Digit, one thing that may entice me to get it sooner would be if someone knows if I'll go through less herb than the LSV I have now? I've had both vapes, but never at the same time to compare them. Should I expect the Volcano to be noticeably more efficient than the LSV? From memory I think the Volcano is more efficient probably due to a wider chamber and temperature control.

I'm really hoping to get it in the next few days but I really wasn't planning on making such a huge purchase. I've been saving money since my LSV broke a few weeks ago to buy the Volcano ASAP.

Funny, I have the Volcano and was looking at the LSV as maybe one that I would get someday. I'll have to look it up but it must be good, as I've heard so much.
Originally I thought the Enano would suit my efficiency needs, but no 220V version afaik, so the LSV wins!
As for Volcano efficiency, it's good at extraction, that's for sure!
I often think of the pulsating air flow as if it were tiny hammers knocking on the resin glands.
I used around 1g a day when rolling with tobacco joints, and the same with Solo & P2, and now the same with Volcano. I may get more high now though, I think!
And holy hell the way the taste swarms your tongue like no other vape can! (that I have tried anyway)
As they said to me when I was in your position, "Go for it!", and "Just do it!"
