Firewood Vaporizer

so ive been warming up to my firewood after using it a bit more, as I wasnt impressed when I first received it, I currently have it bumped up +2 and vape at level 2 and 3, does anyone have any helpful draw tips or tips on cooling the air as well? I find my hits are a little underwhelming, and when I do get a good one, the heat burns my throat, looking to see if anyone has found a fix to this.

Also saw a post using an eds tnt stem, Im thinking about doing that as well

how are you guys hitting your FW3?

also wanted to mention a small problem I had with mine, I pressed the bottom button without it being on and it starting vibrating really loudly for 5 or so secs, but I turned it on and off a few times and it seems to be fixed

Fireballs the Mild cinnamon hard candies
Yes sir...

Do
Not
Use
Your
Firewood
While
Plugged
In
!!!!

Seriously it will cause problems. It was addressed earlier in the thread it will impact your batteries and possibly the Firewood Adversely.
Is it ok to use it plugged in with batteries removed? And what about a battery pack? Is that ok with batteries inserted or removed? Thanks in advance.

Ma'am actually. Though at my age Miss is perhaps more appropriate.

Anyway to address your questions, I don't believe it's possible for the device to operate without the batteries in the unit. So that means never while plugged in as its either impossible or bad for the batteries depending.

For the battery pack likewise it's impossible to use the Firewood without batteries iirc. And something about how battery packs work make it so that it's not bad for the batteries to use a battery pack.

I hope this was intelligible enough. I just had my evening Indica before bed and I'm really close to sleeping.

I deal with the heat by raising it. For me, the lower temperatures means I have to expose myself to hot air for longer. With the Firewood raised to 6, I take good hits at 4 and am good to go before my mouth is dry and burnt.
I also tried stuffing some EQ tubing over that plastic mouthpiece. I got the mouthpiece at a head shop that sells kiddie vape accessories. I already have one made to extend my iolite that fits over both. If you get the temp to where you want your hits to be, however, the extra mouthpieces aren't as necessary.

That being said, I still want to get a good water tool but that is a whole other league.

Got mine!! Came late but looks wonderful!

Question time!

Should you use it till dead and then charge, or is charging before dead and more often better for these batteries?

First test on setting 3 I could not see the coil glowing, setting 4 I seen it glow for a second...

Took a few slow even draws on heat setting 4, got a little vapor but mostly hot air it seemed. Bumped it up to heat hack 4 and got similar results... Bumped it up to heat hack 7 and got some nice hits and finally got some dark ABV.... Most importantly I was feeling wonderful.

Even with the slowest draw there was no chance of combustion. But at this level I'm able to get some great hits. More experimenting will be done for sure :)

I'll upload a couple pics tomorrow also... I'm sleepy now lol

The battery pack does power the unit without batteries the wall adapter does not.

The battery pack also fixed my 4 buzz issues when they occur.

The batteries have a more effective discharge rate the more charged they are. That means the heater will be relatively hotter toward the beginning of your battery life. Iirc this type of battery doesn't like being run down all the way and the FW actually shuts off automatically before the batteries get critically low. For both of these reason I try to put it on the charger after I've used it. Ymmv and if you go back in this thread a bit people were discussing battery hygiene earlier and most of what I'm telling you is based on my memory of reading that. Going directly to the source is always a good idea in research :)

Thank you Miss J-bug for the info!!

I will try and charge it up when it gets to one battery beep.

Last night before bed I loaded all 3 capsules and started at setting 4. Should of stopped at 2 capsules... I was floating lol.

All 3 capsules came out dark ABV, and I got great hits!! Loving this vape now!!

I will admit before the heat hack I was unimpressed, a little disappointed even as I wasn't getting good hits... But now... I'm super happy LOL

Also, I find I get thicker hits if I'm pushing, applying pressure, to the mouthpiece while hitting it... Almost like if the capsule was a little longer, to reach closer to the heater, I might not of had to turn the heat hack to +7 to get dark abv.

Regardless, if it keeps giving the results from last night I'll be a happy camper!

Finally got a pic uploaded, here it is!!

A few observations...

If you own a Lily, the capsule from the FW3 fits in perfectly with the screen towards the Lily's heat intake.

AA battery holders make great carry cases for multiple mouthpiece/capsules.

If you own an Air, the caps that cover those stems also cover the tops of the mouthpieces for the FW3. This may of been mentioned already i think though....

More fun times ahead!!

@WoodVillain The classic combo, beautiful take but that pose is making me nervous :uhoh:

@Spocks_Katra @Edric al-Fali I too have been preferring edrics routine of bumping the temp to 4 and taking quick hotter hits also gets me more toasted and feels much better to night cap.

Although this causes it to get dark for me or some sort of semi combusted state which does worry me for health reasons. But other than that it's getting the job done.

Going to try staying around temp 3 as there's less semi-combustion and smoother hits cooler hits. when I have more time and I can relax and unwind (seems like the sweet spot unless you drag long then it can combust)

But temp 4 with a fresh capsule is the speediest way to go for me. :science:

can you remember if you did combust at the 4th and 5th hit in this video (starts at 1:26)... because that seem to be huge clouds!

carrier is usps and country swiss
but the tracking quote: "held in customs" is new to me... the last time I ordered with usps I did not get this quote... but maybe it is usual...

ABV was shown right after the 5th hit to confirm nothing was combusted, if I accidentally combusted I'm not recording it and showing it...

You're good.

It does produce wonderful clouds, and I have tried to make enough videos so people can understand what kind of production they should be able to get. It's strange this unit hasn't gotten more popularity again in FC but I guess that is the issue of not releasing the thread for the new iteration.

Would you guys be interested in a big bowl video? I'm not sure who'd even need a big bowl on this device, I'd actually like a smaller capsule...

@Spocks_Katra I wish that amount would last me 3-4 hours..

starting to get real good results on my fw3, I found that packing it a little tigher works better for me, as Im used to the draw on the AIR. did one capsule maybe .1 today and was medicated for 3-4 hours, cant complain:D

Glad your finding your sweet spot, which also reminds me I'm long overdue for a t-break ..

It's just way too easy with the fw3 to get blasted :ko:

As for how I pack the capsule I'm finding 1/2 or 3/4 with a little room to tumble is perfect.

I have yet to get good consistent results with a full cap.. What usually happens is the bottom ends up getting over cooked and the top gets undercooked :hmm:.

also I feel like the harshness is adding up and/or I'm not hydrating enough lately :ugh: throats getting raspy. Definitely time to take it easy after almost a month of everyday firewooding

what i do to kind of "stir" a full capsule is to take it out, hold it upside down, and tap on the side with my finger, this causes the bud to shift around quite a bit and Ive been getting very even extraction looking at my abv. I tried half packs and 3/4 packs but the bud ended up all vacuumed to the top of the capsule at the screen and I had to constantly blow into it to push it back down

Like you even need to ask, show us what you got! I always admire the quality of your videos. One of these days I would love to get myself setup with my go pro and a clean area with solid backgrounds to make a decent video or two.

I'm curious what you even mean by big bowl. I am pretty high tolerance so I would say I will go through 3-4 capsules about 1/2-3/4 full in one session. If you have a way that I can put more material in and get more hits that would save me from having to change out capsules as often.

Just wanted to share something that has been making my use more enjoyable.
I have installed another basket screen close to the top of my mouthpiece, to catch any fine abv that gets thru.
I'm not a fan of inhaling any fine particles.

Additional HUGE benefit is:
When this basket screen gets all golden gooed and is causing draw restriction, I swap it with the bottom capsule basket screen. (Herbalizer self cleaning screen technique)
This gooey golden screen will then give up its goo in form of numerous hits with an empty capsule, or enhance a packed capsule.
This makes for a very nice night cap before bed.

Anyone that is sensitive to inhaling fine particles might want to give it a try.

This device is so efficient that it has cut my usage down.
I load a capsule 3/4 full and am getting 2 sessions from .08 of a gram!

n you remember if you did combust at the 4th and 5th hit in this video (starts at 1:26)... because that seem to be huge clouds!

@btka just to give you an idea of the vapor production this little unit puts out, IME and of my line up, only the MV produces a bigger tastier hit.
