Discontinued Zion vaporizer

MrPeanut

Zion, stealing faces since 2015
P.S. Zion has also been on top of a fire-tower, in bars, parks, music festivals, concerts and restaurants (I am sure I have missed a few others). It can last from 6-10 sessions per charge (more are possible). No cords and not standing next to a wall with a wire hanging out of your pants. :)

Just so Dab HAppy!
I use the Firewood 3 with a battery pack often and you barely notice it so I would say battery packs are not a big deal of inconvenience IME, but if you all go back and read the original comparison that got the Zion and log in a discussion was the price point comparison that was really being compared to the single battery unit and not the Zion. The single battery unit, just like the Firewood 3 will be constructed just like a portable log yet at a much more affordable price than most log vapes (under $200).

Oh well, this kind of off topic sure beats the soap box stuff we had last week!

I was always bothered by the exorbitant price of log vapes. That said, I think the single battery will meet the price-point and power expectations that allow a more massive potential user base to jump on board the Zion train, including people like @ataxian
I don't think the single would intrest me as it would be for a kid that doen't have his/her own home?

The duel powered would be more fitting for me.

We all have different demand!

Are needs maybe different?

Medical for some & Recreation for others.

Can't we just get along?

New twitter pic, units 18-24. For those keeping track that will be approximately 25% of the preorders out the door when they ship. Not bad for one dude on a mission to deliver bliss to the masses!

So it appears as if they are right on schedule to ship those by early next week, as their update on the website said. Hmmmm. It's getting tougher and tougher to resist pulling the trigger on this one.....

I usually vape at home or possibly in someone else's house, but since getting the VapCap I am finding myself doing it elsewhere more often. For me the Zion is a bit too big to use out and about (tho it has been to friends), but I am getting pretty excited about the SBU for sticking in my pocket on a walk/hike or using in the car for long rides. I look forward to not needing the torch.
Around the house I love that with Venus I don't need to be situated near an electric outlet which was a little awkward with the HA. Versatile seems to come to mind... ;)

As you said, we all have different demand. I am not a kid, I own my home and I am open about my vape habit so I don't need stealth. However portability rings some bells for me. Small in size does as well. Maybe I wear skinny jeans and belly revealing t-shirts every day and don't want to just rock with my wood out, can't fit a Zion in my pocket now could I.

Funny, that's not how I pictured you. Prove it. :)

I DO consider Zion a HOME portable meaning (to me) easy to use wherever you like, no cord, comfortable in your hand, and lightweight enough to sit atop nearly any glass setup.

@ataxian you crease me up bud!

Thank you.

The Zion is chunky. Yeah. But you don't see Johnny with a complex. It's all about how you carry that extra weight & for me, Johnny does it with style and a powerful grace.
Loose denim & combats seem to work for me ;)

But seriously, I was just chugging on the Zion, & when I stopped & looked straight down the stem at the vapor-stream at the very bottom - it formed into a Yin-Yang!

The FC definition of a portable is a unit that does not need plug-in power. That's why the other subforum is called Plug-in Vaporizers. This completes your off-topic discussion. We now return to our regularly scheduled topic.

Edit:

Started watching some videos and have learned that stirring is required in this convection vape. Curious, if you use a small amount...say .05g, or .1g, will a stir still be required? Just curious as some convection vapes do not require a stir with this small amount.

Stirring is not necessary most of the time. You should get even browning with 5-10 second draws at low and medium power. If you pull hard for long hits at high power, the laminar flow will concentrate heat at the centre, thereby increasing the potential for uneven heating. The production heater is designed to keep this effect to a minimum.

Not needing to stir is not the same as not benefiting from stirring. I stir my load (usually about .07 g) every 3-4 hits.

To help get us back on topic since I did my part in helping us stray...can those Zion owners that have a Daisy comment on where these two fit in their rotation of devices. Does one get used more than the other? If so, why? And to keep more so on the topic of the Zion, what features of the Zion do you like most when comparing to the Daisy?

Hopefully comparing/contrasting with the Daisy is not off topic. If so this stray dog is trying to take you all for a run!

@ataxian
Funny seeing you here...we do seem to drift towards similar threads.
I was torn between the single bat or the full blown zion, pretty sure I'ma just get the zion.
If you wish, I can compare the Nano and Zion for you once I receive it.

How many Zion's are out in the wild? I'm looking forward to being possibly top 50.

Come Friday, I'll be making my post, yelling that I just purchased THE Zion.
Hopefully.

I believe...and it hurts to say this, that I'll be selling the Nano this week in hopes to order a Zion this friday on Pay-Day. Already have offers for the Nano after less than 12 hours, so that doesn't seem like a problem.

There are 17 production units in the wild I believe. At least that is what I am led to believe from RBT's latest tweet stating that he is working on units 18-24. Nonetheless there are no more than 17 production units and a handful of Beta units out there. It sounds like the number sold is somewhere near 100 so you wouldn't be in the top 50.

Awh!
I'll still feel special getting on board this train so early.
You should feel special. Your going to be included in the free give away and you will be one of the 200 that gets a handmade Zion. There may not be handmade Zion's after that as RBT seems to have big plans that would require him to move onto development of the next device meaning he would no longer have time to build Zion's by hand. I am just assuming this but these assumptions came pretty easily from reading RBT's site and comments here.

I have 4 UDs and a Nano. I ordered the Battery Voltage keeper to make my dogs portable BEFORE I got my beta Zion. I received the VK after I got the Zion and I haven't even tried the UD with the BVK yet. The Zion filled that need with less equipment and less money than a UD + Battery VK. All that said I still use the Nano and UDs, just not on the go.

I've been around the block a few times so I can have strong options.

The NANO I will always have on 24/7
The SOLO is my driver during day light.

My WAX PEN's are always ready.

I have owned a lot of vaporizers.

Also I was a woodworker of large museum pieces.

I have been a collector of many things.

Do you think I want to collect air dryers!
Let alone make one out of wood?
My food processor has a cover however it's not wood.
Function not looks matters most I believe.

CANNABIS should be our focus.
2 more weeks pop seeds time!

Holy fuck, some serious soap opera going on recently! Just skimmed through it, so not making any impressions on CS or an irritated customer. Started watching some videos and have learned that stirring is required in this convection vape. Curious, if you use a small amount...say .05g, or .1g, will a stir still be required? Just curious as some convection vapes do not require a stir with this small amount.

I've seen references to MFLSV..... how similar is it to the LSV? Is it like a portable LSV? The LSV is one vape that although at lower temps I loved the flavour, the manual nature of it at higher temps left much to be desired IME. Either big time hot spot because temp is too high, or my draw speed wasn't "just right". Is this similar to the Zion?

How easy is it to create a "hot spot" with the Zion after say a 1-2 week break in period? I just can't go back to the LSV and Nano days where I lose a good percentage of my loads to gross taste.

Would love Mighty owners to chime in here as it is my present go-to.

Yeah man, @pakalolo explained it beautifully and its actually been discussed many times here, just a page or two ago in fact. Stirring is a choice here, not a necessity at all, many variables in use, you'll find one (likely many) that suit you. Hot spots are easily avoidable even without stirring... VERRRSSSAAATIIIILE (looks like my persistent Jedi mindtricks worked on you too @MrPeanut :ko:)

And yeah I was making those portable LSV comparisons back in July with my OG Ziggy beta, now that he's got the production heater it is even better. MFLB+LSV=ZION in my mind, sure it could also be described as a portable log, or a wooden Solo meets Firefly, but that one really captures it imo

There's a lot of great useage reports in here for a variety of users (some less active so hunting down their posts can be trickier), there's also a lot of clutter with other posts too but jts worth sitting through it all imo, come on its still under 200 pages! :p With this thread as a resource, should have everything to make you buy (or not buy somehow:hmm: Hey clearly some people aren't into this all, but just thinking about the thread's story makes me:drool: all over again)

@nosmoking try searching Daisy in this thread, we talked about it again very very recently actually, and even @RastaBuddhaTao has one thanks to our glowing recommendations

Really? Then how do you explain the fact that your posts are all still there unedited by any of the mods?

The reason you got your points was that you were flaming. Name calling is not allowed on this forum.

Banning everyone with different opinions gets the same point across. Drives people without the same opinion away.

Still waiting for my refund...

Not sure if it's been mentioned, and for those of you who don't know...
DDave's mod for the LSV should work with the Zion, both his GonG and his stems/screens would fit in the 18mm Female.
Not sure if the manufacturer would recommend this, just stating something I noticed.
