Hi, everybody, quick question about the bubbler. Is it a 14mm bubbler that I could use with a Grasshopper? Also, does it do a good job cooling the vapor down? Is the glass thick enough to be safe to travel with it?
Thanks!

It's a fun little bubbler but I doubt I'll use it much. It's not fragile but if you bumped against something with it in your pocked it'd probably break. It's not 14mm maybe 12, same size fitting as those globe atomizers for wax if you're familiar with them & about the same thickness glass too.
Yes it cools the vapour but it is a little restrictive, a slightly larger one with less resistance allows for bigger draws.

I'm finding out about Vaping Fans website--I think they're less than honest--my ecapple mouthpiece busted off down inside the white material--so I tried to just press it back together halfassedly--and then the thing stopped heating! It lasted less than a month. I tried to log in over and over with the name and password I used . They sent me an auto email early on with the password and name info-so I'm using the right pw and name, but I cant log in any more. Their warranty is bullshit I guess. I cant get any response from them, and I've used multiple avenues to communicate with them, but like I said I cant log in anymore.I've told them all this in a drop down message thingy but nada. I guess they auto-runaway when there is a problem. I like the unit and I think I deserve a replacement. Buyer beware. Fuck Vaping Fans!

To be honest I can't login as well.
It happens me all the time but when it's a unheard of little site it's a little bit scarier being rejected like this.
I use a couple emails addy. Not possible any of it is in their db.
More probably their automatic response system is not anymore so automatic.

I'm not positive, but I think that there's a good chance I've never been able to log in to Vaping Fans. I guess I'll try to contact the company about these guys. I miss my iv-1 !!

The first one is an email address, just copy it and use it in your favourite email app. ;) And in a roundabout way the 2nd link will allow you to contact them, just click on that link then at the top of the page that opens, click on 'contact us' :)

You seem to know a bit about the ecapple @ReggieB Do you know if there's a firmware update available for the iv-1 battery swap issue?
This is a pretty major fault with a swap only being possible if you have access to a wall outlet or usb. If you're using it at home it's just a bit annoying but it's a deal breaker if you want to do battery swaps on the go. The way it is now the ecapple is basically a rechargeable with a battery swap possible, but only if you have access to power.

Actually, you should be able to swap a battery on the go using just a coin to unscrew/screw in the base, you shouldn't need a usb cable :) You screw in the battery base so that it's finger tight, then unscrew 1/2 a turn then re-tighten and it should just power up.

Cheers reggie I did read that a while back but I've had it over a month (it's an ecapple branded one) & tried that many times. Definitely doesn't work on mine. Other than that it's good, it's only problem I have with it.
Edit: ok I'm a dick I just got it to work. I was using a coin & just tried it with an enano pic & it came on. I think I've got it you need to be quick.

Still here Still
Hi All just an update on my defective ecapple iv 1.as I said earlier contacted the vendor who suggested I send them a video of it not working properly which I did, two days later a replacemwnt arrived in full working order, and I've still got the dud here to play with,I think I got an (older) vapethrough rebranded as an ecapple, the earlier pic I posted of the MP gives it away, the replacement has a different MP from the pic's posted by @ReggieB so I'm assuming I have now got a later version than the one I had originally.

Not the latest version which comes with an extra metal insert for the oven taped to the box.

It certainly heats quicker, lasts longer between battery changes and doesnt shutdown to standby on a half battery, still needs a usb after a battery change but it doesnt have to be plugged into anything, just inserting the mini usb into the unit triggers it,
Had an FM Pro IMO this is better because it does everything the pro did but it's smaller, has changable battery, charges quicker, looks more discreetit and has a bubbler as a standard option,oh and it's cheaper too

@Poostuff you and me both mate :D I didn't figure it out for a while myself.

I'm trying to figure out how many versions there have actually been, I think it's still only 2 at the moment and the 3rd one due sometime soon but we've had 3 mouthpieces and a wax chamber thrown into the mix which confuses things a bit.

1st one was the vapethrough with the original mouthpiece, 2nd one is the one I have with the white hdpe/teflon at the base of the mouthpiece which has been replaced with an updated mouthpiece and then the addition of the wax chamber, this is the unit you'll find on sale on ebay, dhgate etc. The 3rd model will be the updated model with the new firmware.

Unfortunately from memory of looking at the PCB traces, I don't think it will be possible to update the firmware on the 2nd version because the usb socket is for power only, the data +/- lines aren't connected. Also connecting it to a PC should make it attempt to load a driver, it doesn't.

@serialtoker check my previous post, you just need to tighten, untighten 1/2 a turn, re-tighten quickly and you shouldn't need a usb cable to start it after a battery swap.

The battery thing was my only issue but it's fixed so thanks for that. I'm not a huge fan of portables but I think it's very good & as @serialtoker said pretty discreet.
I replaced the bottom screen for better air flow & because it kept falling out.
I like to leave it on 439 & use the 9 minute setting on fast or medium. Seems to extract absolutely everything in about 5 or 6 minutes & then I shut it down. Very dark & even AVB. That's how I do it but there's lots of options.
A 14mm mouthpiece would be the only improvement I'd suggest.

Do you guys ever think that the makers of these devices like the ecapple or the vendors of them read through these thread or similar ones to get these idea's to make their product better? i mean it would be great way to build much more innovation in this rapidly growing business. I wonder if there is a manufacturer just jotting down all the key points in these conversations ready to release a new way of vaping? if not they really should they can get a lot of insight and learn a great amount of the product withouth putting a lot of money into research. and there are ideas everywhere for their choosing.

I know for sure that some of the information from this thread gets back to ecapple because I email them from time to time, the first time was a few weeks back when I emailed them about the new mouthpieces and how we could get them for ourselves, since then they have very kindly kept me updated with developments which I am gladly passing on to you guys with their blessing :)

I would like to make it clear that I don't work for ecapple in any capacity, I haven't received anything for any information that I've passed on, I'm just a tech-savvy user who had a broken mouthpiece.

Personally, I think they've got a solid product that has improved through each version, the 2nd version which most (All?) of us currently have is a good little unit, no show stoppers, set your heat profile, dial in your temp and blast away. The 3rd version will have a couple of added features like swapping temp display between C and F, along with adjusting temp while vaping.

It's good to see they're addressing issues and adding features, along with asking their users for input!!

I sent them a picture of my bong adapter (1/2" inner diameter tube, 1 1/2" long) which I'd like to see as a real thing, 1/2" to M/F 14MM/18mm, not sure if that will go anywhere but they're definitely keen to hear ideas.

I'm going to ask about silicone cases that someone mentioned, as they do tend to get a bit warm on a heavy session.

They also mentioned about adding a new colour (burgundy/red) and asked what colours I/we would like to see, so if you've got any thoughts on that or anything else, post them here and I'll pass them on.

great! @ReggieB glad to know that they do have open lines of communication! as for colors i like the colors they have but i wouldnt be apposed to a green one. Or one that can change the color of the LED screen and heat up button. just to add a little more customablility to the vape. For the most part i do enjoy the aesthetics of this little guy! When you get a chance can you DM me the link you found the wax cup at id liek to go ahead and give that one a try!

I like the red one already that would be my colour, green is also good, I'm happy myself with the oled screen colour, but I will mention it all though :)

I don't have a link for the wax cup directly, it was a picture they sent me because I asked about it, again I think we're supposed to speak to our vendors first and foremost and if that doesn't get us anywhere, I'll ask if there's some way that we can get them.

I think we can get replacement mouthpieces from ecapple if the vendor can't accommodate, so I wonder if it's the same on the wax cup, don't quote me on any of this before I've asked though :)

Thanks Reggie for your help. I finally got in contact with Vaping Fans and it's kind of funny I guess. After sending an email to ecapple I received a response saying they were going to check up on this supplier, Vaping Fans. Fifteen minutes later here comes another email from Vaping Fans! They must have chewed on his ass a bit. Vaping Fans tells me they can't replace a mouthpiece only the company can, ignoring the fact that my unit doesn't heat up anymore. I bought the thing in December and it's dead as a doornail, it's not just a broken mouthpiece. VP said I could buy a complete unit for him.......on the good side he did call me friend. I think I deserve a new unit. Now I have a viable email address anyway. Again, thanks Reggie for the good advice.

I can't speak directly for individual cases but I would give ecapple another email, with my unit once I'd supplied my vendor a video of the unit not working correctly, it was immediately replaced, the unit is under warranty after all, yours shouldn't be any different despite what the vendor says.

Yea I still love the iv-1 and I have had mine some time . I ordered an extra mouth piece a battery and 2 extra water tools . The first mouth piece was was a little bigger and I broke the water tool. The new mouth piece and new water tools are so much better they fit better together not as tight as the first ones so I don't see breaking it like I did the first one . I haven't used it since I got a new vaporizer from JNB as a test piece. But this week it will be back in the rotatio

and where did you buy these extra mouthpieces? I'm been searching for one.

Thanks,

PP
