Discontinued Zion vaporizer

There are plenty of plastics and composites we'd love to explore designs in but with no tooling budget wood was and remains to be the obvious choice of material for the body.

Wood now, other materials possible down the road. That's been the vision for some time now.

Zion is made by a guy with materials at hand. Also tools at hand. Mass production requires different processes but wood allows for reproducible, reliable, pliable work materials. Homage to ancestors and tip of hat to art types. All this from watching video and reading letters. Seems more like a dream than a topic of conversation. Can't wait.....no must wait. Anticipation is half the fun. After you get something it is just another possession.

Please note I joke around!

However before CANNABIS saved my life I was a WOODWORKER in fact I have large timbers of exotic's in storage.

I built some large pieces of ART using Wood.

I had some friends from USC that played around with COMPOSITES.
Some wonderful materials would make a nice shell for a portable.
Just a vision?

One day this year I'd like to get a ZION really.

My sense of HUMOR can be confusing at times.

Some say my: ""CANNABIS consumption is excessive"?

I know you are dicking with us, Ataxian, but in truth the Zion tastes no more like wood than the Lotus does. And similarly the INTAKE air is what passes through the wood. Once the air is heated it travels through a screen (presumably SS) then glass on the Zion and steel and then whatever you are using as a stem for the Lotus. In my case that will almost always be glass.

I know how much you like the Lotus, and that is why I think you will like the Zion as well. :)

You are a MF for sure!

When there in stock I get one to try?

But I like it!
An all glass Zion. Try parking your car on that.

I played with a lot of Lexan in the Navy. One of our shop techs was pres of a local aquarium club and had built a 4000 gallon aquarium out of Lexan. The secret is to make the joints fit tight, and then run a small bead of MEK Peroxide from a syringe right along the seam, and you'd hardly know it was there. And strong!

An all Lexan Zion would stop bullets :)

Edit - it's really quite difficult to stir a nug, but still fun to try...

So...Leaning towards selling my Nano and replacing it with a Zion...what do people think.
Got a few questions before my purchase...
Their website says their FC contest is going on until March 1st...if we order today, is March the month we get our units? Is that known yet? And will shipping be pretty quick once it does send?
Are there cheaper chargers out there than the i2? Just adding that on + shipping makes my purchase ~300, which I was trying to avoid if possible, haha. (but will still do!)
I've heard battery life is very good, rough estimate anyone?
How long do they take to charge?
Is the button smooth and easy to press?
Does anyone know the full range of temps of the temp dial?
Concentrate hassle free? I know it's possible, but easy?

I loved my Nano for so long, but since getting the LSV, it's not my daily anymore and would like to replace it with something of equal power but still different, and in this case, portable. Think this thing can hold up strongly against Logs in terms of effects/flavor/efficiency?
Definitely a flavor connoisseur...It can't be slacking there!
Is the vapor path all glass? What about the air path?
What about the harshness when you're going dry? Tolerable?

Negatives? Tell me everything you could possibly dislike about this vape, whether it's you disliking a certain aspect, or just the possibility that someone would dislike something about it. Thanks!!

I know you guys would prefer me search the thread first, but if anyone would enjoy answering my questions, feel free to! If you want me to just search, I'll get the message if no one replies, ahah. No worries.

Thanks again!
Peace

I put my last nug of Holy Grail through the Zion tonight (saved from a few months ago), with a freshly cleaned screen. Mmm, what a nice change from what I'd been consuming lately. My screens all got clogged from running so much through them over the past few weeks; a good scraping with the tool, followed by a 5sec preheat and draw through the stem, with another round of scraping after that had me drawing clouds properly again. I'm not sure what the suggested methods of cleaning are, just stating that the device is stupid simple to operate and maintain.

Edit - it's really quite difficult to stir a nug, but still fun to try...
After a few hits, I spear the nug with the stir stick and twist it apart, to get another nice cloud or 2. Sometimes I flip it first, to equally roast both sides, then go for the kill.

Yeah definitely read the thread dude, it really all has been answered pretty much exactly. The best I can do for you is say yes lol I (and later others) also compared it to the LSV more than a log even when I got it back in July as it outpaced my UD, its really still like an MFLSV in my mind. Pretty sure you will love this dude

In the immortal words of nike... ;)

The refunds have been processed and the balance to the force has been restored. I have been working 90 hours a week 100% focused on fixing the heater issue to get Zion's to customers because that is what the majority of my customers want. PC I am sorry that I didn't take time to answer your request....

"Just wondering if you could give me any kind of rough estimate as to when my unit might ship. I have never been so excited to get a product I've been waiting on in my life."

Maybe you didn't read the shipping FAQ, maybe you didn't read the statement on the form that if you ask a question answered in the FAQ I would not respond, Maybe you just couldn't help yourself because you where so excited... the truth is, I really honestly didn't know and since I had already answered your question, to be honest, I do not feel bad for not responding to you. This is on you my friend. I do feel bad that you talked your friend into hating on me and canceling his order too.

So, I continue to stand by my statement. I am sorry I missed the date, I am working as hard as I can to get vaporizers out, you can wait patiently or ask for a refund. I have set up a FAQ to answer 90% of the questions and will email you prior to shipment to confirm you shipping info and order.

If you take 3 minutes to respond to 100 questions, it's 5 hours of time that frankly I dont have.

So, hopefully now I can stop spending time on damage control and giving refunds and get back to building Vaporizers. So, I apologize to my loyal customers for the time I spent cleaning up this mess further delayed the shipment of your units after what I thought was a glowing progress update which will be my last.

I do feel bad for the delay this caused to my current customers.... So I am going to give a FREE three pack of screens to all of my <$269 customers. For future customers I reduced the threshold levels for the give-away to sweeten the deal. I truly hope folks here at FC take advantage of this pre-order and get some free stuff before we transition to our retail partners. But truth is I am not here trying to sell a ton of vaporizers on FC, I will leave that up to my future retailer. I am here for the expertise of the Z-Team who made the Zion the best that it could be. I am only selling enough units to have the capital required to fund my journey. So, I hope that he wise will see through the petty BS and buy a Zion... because I want to make a great vaporizer for great people, I have little need for money.

Lol I NEVER had a question about shipping or anything as I WAS ONE OF THE CUSTOMERS THAT FOLLOWED THE FAQS AND DIDNT ASK REDUNDANT QUESTIONS. So your pulling things out of thin air. My ONLY problem is your interaction with customers. And I'm not the only one that sees it. It's just that on this forum you have all the mods behind you and if a word against you is spoken it is silenced.

This post just adds to it all. You're never wrong, only the customer.

Which is literally the polar opposite of how CS is supposed to work.

Have you not already received the full refunds?

Are you already regretting canceling your pre-order or what?

I'm so glad I didn't!

Thank you come again...

Holy fuck, some serious soap opera going on recently! Just skimmed through it, so not making any impressions on CS or an irritated customer. Started watching some videos and have learned that stirring is required in this convection vape. Curious, if you use a small amount...say .05g, or .1g, will a stir still be required? Just curious as some convection vapes do not require a stir with this small amount.

I've seen references to MFLSV..... how similar is it to the LSV? Is it like a portable LSV? The LSV is one vape that although at lower temps I loved the flavour, the manual nature of it at higher temps left much to be desired IME. Either big time hot spot because temp is too high, or my draw speed wasn't "just right". Is this similar to the Zion?

How easy is it to create a "hot spot" with the Zion after say a 1-2 week break in period? I just can't go back to the LSV and Nano days where I lose a good percentage of my loads to gross taste.

Would love Mighty owners to chime in here as it is my present go-to.

BTW I didn't persuade my buddy to cancel his order. He did that on his own from seeing the same things I saw.

I heard through Reddit a couple other people canceled as well.

So you probably lost close a $1000 with that one post. Glad I could "make your day."

Alright I'm gone. To everyone else who seem like good people, peace and love and vape on. Keep the good vibes flowing. Sorry for disturbing the rest of you!

Y'all check out the new Tedeschi Trucks Band album for some awesome new music! Those guys kick ass!

Actually, I HAVE NOT gotten my refund yet, even though I requested it less than an hour after my buddy did who got his in full the next morning.

So take your attitude elsewhere.

And plus I'm not going to let RBT put words in my mouth. I never asked what he said I did. He pulled that quote from his own imagination.

Zion, stealing faces since 2015
Been putting Evangeline through her paces lately. I am pretty much using her like an unregulated unit. She is turned to full power and I adjust vapor by altering my draw and pulsing the button this is putting the new heater through the paces. She is eating the concentrates up lately too. She is a good girl! As much as I love starting on the low end of the power dial and sipping my way through a session cranked all the way up is just so much faster. Rip your face off fast. Did someone say v-e-r-s-a-t-i-l-e?

Stirring is much less messy if you curl your finger around the bowl so that it keeps everything from falling out:

NIeY54B.jpg
Isn't it nice how you can still actually handle the glass after moderate usage?

Yes it will get too hot to wrap a finger around towards the end if you've been hitting it steady, but in general the glass is just warm.

This is because most of the heat goes into the load rather than the system itself. Efficient? You bet!

A log vape isn't portable...

Couldn't help myself. Not my photo though, and I typically don't use mine on the go.

Though, this has me thinking and I'll have to check out those battery packs that use 4 18650's that people use for logs. Wonder how big the overall "profile" of the battery pack in my coat pocket with a mini/log in the other.

Seems like it would be a pain to travel with...plus the cord would just be annoying.

I love being able to go from room to room in my house without having to find a power outlet or deal with the cord.
