Underdog Log Vapes

Great Scott!
Do those E-nano 18mm gongs work well with the underdog? I like the idea of built in screens, and 18mm directly. I right now have to use an adapter to use my underdog GONG on the 18mm glass I have. I'd like to clean it up if possible and eliminate the need for that adapter.

Short answer is no. I've had 3 and only one had enough wiggle room to produce enough heat but still wasn't ideal.

Yea, I found the anker model. Its 80$ for 20,000 mah and has 12v port and multiple USB ports. Nice form factor, build quality etc. But non replaceable.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005NGLTZQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1454038832&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=anker+12v&dpPl=1&dpID=41wApC+US8L&ref=plSrch

@StonerSloth u have a link for this diy battery case?

Edit: Google's my friend on that one. Found some diy kits. Unless u where just talking about the 4 18650 pack that UD links to on eBay. Found a few that hold 6+. If I get some 3,000mah 18650's that should get the capacity I want. Possibilities!

Thanks for the info! Couldnt really find much searching on the topic.

It looks like the Anker pack you linked has 9V and 12V, but not a truly adjustable voltage.

The adjustable 18650 pack I'm talking about is the fully adjustable (in 0.5V increments) 13.0V unit Underdog sells, which is also available at Fasttech or eBay.

Stacked with 4 x Panasonic NCR18650B 3400 mAh cells, I can get 4 hours running at relatively high temps. I don't think you're going to do any better than this unit. I have never seen a 6 x 18650 unit with adjustable voltage. If you find one, let me know - I will buy it :D

Is there a reason to want to raise the voltage? otherwise, couldn't I just use a 12v Dimmer from the pack to the vape to ramp it down? (and save battery life a bit)

The 4 pack is nice and has good remarks from people, I just wanted a larger pack for camping, and then something like the Anker for just general carry since they are so dang slim and light compared to a pack of 6 18650's lol.

Truthfully for your new dog, probably not.

I have an older dog that runs a bit cooler than my newer dogs, and I like bumping up the Voltage with the mini's. The big dog I run at like 12.8-12.9 and the Mini's I usually run at 12.5-12.6.

But they run cooler. I use those settings on my other dogs, i'll combust. Actually have been using my VVPS a lot more often lately, and just bumping my normal dogs down to 11.9-11.8, just a tad bit cooler. Newer ones really do get much hotter IMO

Good info & point. I do concede it is nice that that 4 bat model has the .5 step adjustments built in. Wish more models did. Course, I could just not be lazy af and just swap out the batteries every 4+/ish/or so hours...

I am in the process of sorting out power supply & have been informed that all I need is to ensure that it outputs 12v & at least 1a but 2 is better.

I have a DC lab power supply available that would be used as a the main power source & allow me to have voltage control.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Adjustable-Laboratory-DC-Power-Supply-Linear-Single-15V-2A-2-LCD-Displays-/381446578338?hash=item58cffce0a2:g:QSIAAOSwxN5WVSEb

I was thinking of having the below power supply as my backup & possibly adding a dimmer although it would only be a backup to the mains unit & may be unneeded if the battery option below is viable although $15 is not a great expense.

I just found a 240v power supply in a cupboard. It's input is 50/60Hz & max .06A & the output is 12V 1.5A. Would that provide enough power to the unit?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AU-12V-2...039309?hash=item4d1b82cf0d:g:BFkAAOxyBvZTRhLs

I have this battery sitting at home & am going to buy a charger for it today as I use it for another purpose. That said I think this could also be used with a UD as a super battery of sorts & you could team it with a dimmer or digital buck booster for temp control?

http://www.jaycar.com.au/Power-Prod...GEL-Rechargeable/12V-6Ah-SLA-Battery/p/SB2485

Just trying to think a little outside the box & this could be a "cordless desktop" solution for those looking for a cordless unit of sorts? Warm the unit up on mains power & switch over to the big battery. I don't really understand electronics but it seems to make sense if you took it away for the weekend or something like that.

Please let me know if my thinking is askew on this subject as I wear velcro shoes when it comes to electronics. With a bit of planet alignment I should have my UD in time for my birthday in the first week of March .

Just buy two of the 4 x 18650 packs and charge one while you use the other.

For camping you can use a portable jump starter or a solar panel, or both.

Solar powered logs - take that, e-nano owners!

Edit - you will need to use a buck/boost module with a portable jump starter or solar panel.

I had been planning to do make a few stems for Dave & Amanda at UD for a while now, they both got me hooked up with this beauty a while back and I wanted to get them right for the good deed. They have never tried one of my wooden stems so made them a matching set and are en route as we speak.

I have also been in talks with Dave a while back about creating a line for the UD alone using the UD OEM tips specifically for his customers. I wanted to do something a little different than I normally do and thought this would be a cool look for the UD line that would be consistent in design and I know how Dave likes burn bands, I plan on adding these to my site soon and offering them as a featured product for as long as I can make them this way. So here we have a 14mm 4"L straight stem and 18mm 3"L WPA in Blackwood like the ones above.

These tips are made by Dave and Amanda themselves. I plan on making these for the UD with these tips in a few different species that will be readily available soon enough.

I hope you like what you see @underdog & @underdogette I wanted to surprise you both with these but couldnt wait for S&T. Pls let me know what you think when they arrive and how you like their performance. Thanks you two for the work and the cooperation in the past, present and days ahead!

!!! Beautiful work as always!

I can't believe Dave and Amanda haven't ever tried a woody... few experiences make feel more eloquent than kicking back with a dog in one hand an Ed's stem in the other! They are in for a treat!

Cheers all! Have a great week! Firin up a dog as we speak :)

Those wooden stems look awesome! Would be cool to have one that looks like large rifle round to sit ontop of my vape. hah

Got my dog today. Small mishap with the mailing but I picked it up from a post office 2 minutes down the road so it all worked out. Very fast shipping. Looks every bit as awesome as I had hoped. So neatly wrapped. Plugged it in and in no time it was ready to hit. so easy to suck up herb with the stems out of a grinder, way easier than other vapes imo.

I wanted a vape that was every bit as good as a desktop vape but also portable. One that was very efficient, used very little herb & was low maintenance with cheap accessories. the UD fit the bill for me. The 12v ability makes it so versatile and it seems very solid with no parts to really break. my Crafty fell apart and died around 50 hours, which is apparently common, I'm sure this will last many thousands. Warm up time wasn't bad really either, I prefer the slower startup, less wear and again, 12v.

On the mention of portability, the dog fits perfectly into the small pocket inside my big front pocket on my Carhartt hoodie which is perfect, carry the battery and vape in there & the vape will be well protected in the small pocket. Its so beautiful I don't wanna scratch it. lol.

Need to find a good carrying bag for it and all its stuff though. And a good car adapter.

A++ seriously. I've gone through dozens of vapes and various products. Price for quality and service is second to none that I've had so far. Thank you UD team.

@Florence I would be careful with putting the UD in your jumper pocket like that if it's turned on, they get pretty hot - might even overheat somehow?

Yea, wouldn't leave it in there long term lol. More for walking around the park or something. Slipped in and out then eventually turned off and stored safely till whatever I was doin is done.

It is a good point though, if it where accidentally left on while in a concealed place or under blankets, etc, wonder what kind of damage could happen to it after x time.

Side note, the stainless steel tipped stems rock, love the small bowl size. I've been "testing" everything thoroughly since getting it home.

Some guy had his get buried in his blankets and it burned/charred the whole top....it honestly looked pretty awesome lol.

I fell asleep with one in my bed, I wouldn't recommend it, but all I woke up too was a pretty warm belly  lucky it was resting the way it was though and not smothered

So. My Eucalytus Air Core came in the mail Saturday - very fast shipping. I wanted to post an initial impressions, but I was really busy testing. I also got my VapCap that day, so I had to work with that some as well. No first impressions were coming Saturday night.

It's been more of the same the last few days. Where does the screen have to be to one-hit? How far can it be and still work? Such questions must be answered and I endevoured to find them.

Here it sits Tuesday night and I realized that there will probably be no better time than now to post a few thoughts.

Like everyone says - wow, it's small. The wood feels great. All of the stems look top notch, I wish I had ordered different ones, of course, but I still think I did the best for my needs.

I like the nylon stems better than the glass, simply because I can finish the same amount of material in less time when I need to. But I do like the longer session that the glass gives sometimes. My biggest annoyancce is emptying the stems, I can scrape it out, which sometimes moves the screens. Or blow it out, but what do you blow into, that doesn't smell, and doesn't spray everywhere?

The unit itself is very efficient, but it really sits there and begs me to use it, so I'm probably using more than I did before.

I have a really big mason jar, that worked great until it got to about 3/4s full, then it started blowing stuff out back at me when emptying it. (I just blew out into the jar)

Then I moved to another jar, and then to a little tupperware. Now I just blow them out into the garbage. But the big mason jar would be my best suggestion, as it provided enough depth that there was very little kickback until the jar was almost full. I have roughly 4/5 ounces of AVB in total at this moment, so that's why I've been kicking it out into the garbage, I am really lazy with it lol no help from the dogs ! :dog:

Nice to see ya enjoying it! I totally feel you that you end up going through more during that honeymoon phase, but I promise ya the UD is a efficient mutha fucka! In using, everything in my sig, lb for lb the Underdog gets me high the longest and using less. I'll post my full findings in full in a few more weeks, I need to collect more data :) but just for an example, on a weekday, I'm back home by 5pm, usually go to bed around 1 a.m. I go out occasionally for errands and shit so its not like a static 8 hours always, but there were two days last week that I took 5 and 7 UD Nylon Stem snaps in that time period and kept me high the whole time. Which, I think is less than .6 in an Herbalaire and 4 Vapcaps. But like I said, I need more data, its truly a fun experiment and exercise
