Has anyone used the grasshopper with an orbiter? I'm planning on using my bronze gh with this version

i see no difference between Orbiter and any other bong or rig of same size. me personalty like small glass pieces. i don't need to fill my lungs with clean air from a huge bong before getting to inhale a vapor which is starting to come after lungs are half full already. it feels like big pieces doesn't get in deepest alveoli.

I use my green Ti with the pictured walnut/emerald orbiter daily. PERFECT combination.
Orbiter is expensive, but lifetime warranty on glass is unheard of. The orbiter is solid and milks the hell out of the grasshopper. I also use my orbiter to clear the chamber after I've been out and about using the hopper native. There's always another rip waiting in the hopper for when I get home.

This sounds awesome, care to share some pics? :D

Damn you @Marvc and @Volteric ! You just got me ordering a Crafty Cooling Unit! I was supposed to be set with my GH vape. That CU better have to be as amazing as everyone says.
Anyway the vapor is too hot at temp 4+, so not useful to me without something to cool it down.

PS : And I don't forget you @Thcgos . All of that happens because of your idea. ;-)

Listen, if you find the GH too hot at setting 4-5 the CU will stoke you. What it really needs is a tighter snug fit. That would be my only area id want improvement. For under $20 bucks the "jerry rig" is totally worth it IMO.

Anybody aware of a mp condom for the GH that is in black or a cover that would give it a tighter fit with cu?

I couldn't care less how it compares to other things- just as bad as some other products is not a very strong argument...
It actually is a strong argument because it shows how things aren't nearly as bad as some people think. By showing that the problems that the grasshopper is having aren't unique to Hopper Labs and are also affecting other established powerhouses in the vaporizer market, it shows that the company and the product aren't really doing that bad, they're doing rather well. A major performance benchmark is comparing your company to your competitors. When you compare Hopper Labs failure rate to it's competitors (and we're talking established powerhouses that have been producing vapes for over a decade), you see that it's doing just as well despite having significantly less resources at it's disposal. That's a good thing even if you don't care to believe it.

Personally, it just reinforces that people's anecdotes are not very relevant. To me.

No one here has any idea of the actual failure rates of any of these devices, because all of the information depends on someone bothering to come and post "mine broke three times" or "mine has never given me any trouble in 3 years", etc....

What I do know is that you can easily find several reports of people with repeated problems with the GH, and I know mine broke in less than two weeks. Which is far from unusual.
Even if you knew that the failure rate was much less than some other brand (which really, no one does), why would I care- I didnt purchase those other brands.

If I broke my leg skiing, would it comfort me to be told "hey, at least you are the first person to break their leg on this slope all week", or "last week, someone broke both legs, actually you are lucky you only broke one!"???

I've posted a couple of pics a few pages back using a Firewood 3 mouthpiece to make a secure connection to the Grasshopper. If you do not have a FW 3, you may be able to replicate it with a piece of silicone and a screen.

while @Ratchett makes his adapter, I just crammed a typical 3/8" OD silicone tube in the CU, and sealed the gaps with some Glad Press n Seal. Trimmed the tube on the inside a bit to allow for airflow and trimmed to just a nub on the outside and it works great! It's not pretty but it seals it up nice and can be cleanly removed. And bonus: I no longer need to use the hopper condom since this pairs with the hopper natively with ease.

If you go by that logic then you'll never be happy with anything in this world. Yes, some people have grasshopper that were DOA and then did warranty claims and are currently on their 4th one. My point is people are acting like this is unique to hopper labs when Storz & Bickel had the exact same problems everyone is complaining about with the crafty (a vape which many people on this thread also have) and that the firefly also experienced the same exact issue (another vape which many people on this thread also have). Even Ploom had the same issues with the Pax and Pax 2, so the problem is not unique to the grasshopper, it's just something that happens in this industry. If you don't like that then electronic vapes are not for you. They make plenty of good butane vapes, maybe you should go look into one of those.

I'm just curious how the crafty cu works at cooling things down so well? Is it just a lot more intake air?

I've put it up my my wife's nose and she doesn't notice any odor.

I sure hope not!

I think the same question could be asked for the Crafty/Mighty and ff1. And probably others...

Crafty yes, Mighty not a chance! I think the Mighty gets tied up with the Crafty far too often, and the Mighty does not have even a fraction of the issues as the Crafty from all of my research and reading on this forum. In fact, I don't think the Mighty really has any issues that deserve being mentioned. The GH and Crafty on the other hand...

Gotta agree with this. The Mighty, even if you get the infamous ERR 002 message, typically still works without fail after being turned on and off again.

The Crafty, I would not recommend. Remember, the Crafty has a buttload more electronically that can go wrong than the Mighty, they may offer almost the same performance (not battery life/warm up time though) but they are not at all the same kinda vape. I would not recommend a Crafty. I would recommend a Mighty.

Still, I sold both as they are just no use for my needs (I don't use flowers).

I would love a GH once the kinks have been worked out because I'd love something small, simple and delicious that I can load up with not quite full melt bubble hash for hits all day :D

I hope that one day the GH could be something I can recommend, but so far, no good - especially not for international vape lovers who will have to stump up return shipping for failures!

I got my 3rd unit (4th back end) Saturday. I'm not complaining though, happy customer :). It functions correctly and the back end doesn't get hot (so far). However, temp setting 1 on the new one is equivalent to level 4 or 5 on the previous 3. I'm not complaining though, oh boy! :) I mean, the herb is cooked very quickly, the taste is dogshit after the first hit, it's tough to even hold one hit in due to harshness, what lasted me 10 hits on level 3 with the old hoppers now lasts 3 hits on level 1, and when testing the higher temps its close to combusting. I'm not complaining though, I like fun! :)

So, the ONE main value add for me was the truly fantastic flavor all the way thru each load (on settings 3 and lower). It really is unlike any other flavor from any vape I've used. Although that's gone now, I'm not complaining though, sweet lordy! :)

Maybe I'll send the new one back and keep the old one. Hot back end and sporadic functionality beats the taste of dogshit in any poker game! And that's not complaining either, I love poker! :)

Got my unit today. I've run like 5 bowls through it, just a pinch loosely filling it to the top. So far I'm happy. Vapor is warm especially 4 and above but it doesn't bother me. Back end gets a bit warm also but again, everything seems in order. My temps seem to be right. Nice tasty hits.

My biggest concern is how snug the batteries are. Gotta work to get those suckers out.

Otherwise everything seems in check. +1 satisfied hopper owner, let's hope it stays that way.
