Traveling With Edibles / The DOES and DONT'S

Some of you may remember me from one year ago when I was asking questions about smoking/vaping in SoCal apartments and homes. Well I have been in San Diego for a while now and I am happy to report that it is a non issue. Mainly because I hardly smoke or vape and when I do it is usually just one toke at a time. The flower here is SO potent I don't need anymore.

Another reason is I have come to LOVE edibles. They last longer and are more discreet. Some of these products are...AMAZING.

My favorite brands are DIXIE and Cheeba Chews. I find that they are dosed in easy to maneuver sections with very little concern about over doing it.

This year however my insurance company dropped a bomb on me. My MARINOL pills are no longer covered by insurance. This means my out of pocket costs would be sky high around $1300 per month for the cheapest dosage. Compare that to my $100 a month cost for flower and edibles in SD it is insane.

I wish I could travel overseas with my edibles or tinctures. I have been researching the TSA machines and different methods but I am still not sold that anyone method is safer than the other. These days even E-cigs are leaning away from pre filled cartridges and selling their product in loose bottles of liquid. The vape pens from the dispensary are all pre filled cartridges. You can't empty them into lets say an E-Liquid bottle.

One idea I had was to put a tincture into a wart removal bottle and add a pack of (toe) bandaids to the ziplock baggie.

It seems like the TSA GM/CS Machines can be programmed to pick up anything.

Has anyone traveled recently with product and can they help me out ?

I did think of this but the capsules that my dispensary sells don't look like manufactured vitamins at all. They are basically clear capsules filled with a dark hash oil. The ones I've seen definitely look homemade.

They also only come in 30mg single doses which is too much for me. I am between 10 - 15mg.

I saw Gold Caps online which looked like vitamin E capsules but those also come in 30 mg doses and cannot be cut in half...OR is there a way to break those down ?

The Dixie Relaxing Mints 10mg are brilliant. They look like a brown round shaped vitamin in a ***blister pack and they have a divider line down the middle. * The also have THC stamped on the front !

Do you know of any capsules that would fit the bill and blend in a little better ?

Mixing edibles with real food stuff was another idea. May butter would work on a sandwich but I go away for a few weeks at a time. I also think dogs would pick up on gummies and the like....just my hunch.

I flew into the UK with edibles a couple weeks ago.
I don't have a high tolerance and make edibles with 0.05 Gr of bubble per serving, hoping the low content is masked by the ingredients of the edible.
I made sort of an energy bar, with ground dried fruits and almonds, and to seal the bars off, I coated them in chocolate. It looked like a box of homemade chocolate bars, no dodgy smell whatsoever.
It went fine, and I did it before without the chocolate coating, but I'm sure this is not machine proof, and I will only pull this when I go to a country that I feel is relatively safe to do so.
I mean, I told myself that in an event of detection, I would be able to talk my way out of it, clearly having only a personal use quantity in edibles on me.
(but that may well be wishful thinking)

I just purchased a bottle of Tetra Labs Gold Caps. I'd be damned these things looks like Vitamin E or Omega 3 Vitamins. There is no way these are detectable by the naked eye. The question is are they smell or machine proof ? There is really no way of knowing. I wish there was more information regarding these products.

Maybe there is a way to ask this question to the right people without getting directly to the point ?
