How many people had an email from Caroline saying "yours should ship this week", and then hear nothing?

Out of everything they are doing, they could have saved the time emailing me and just sent another hopper. Not that I didn't want an answer back, but when they are just blowing smoke up my ass, what is the point? Might have well just said, check your estimated ship date, it says Nov. 2015, so you must be getting it two months ago.

Out of everything they are doing, the continuous misleading of their customers is really unprofessional. Try to keep my head up about this, but its getting harder when its obvious they aren't shipping 100/day like they claim, unless they are all warranties, which also means they mislead us.... hmm

I guess if they are still failing, I'm glad I'm not playing the back and forth game some of you are playing with them. That's my glass half full side.

Edit: I will be getting it next week. Seems they were not blowing smoke up my ass after all. Excited to possibly get one of the good working ones. I hope the rest of the backers are part of this also. Get on to the preorders.
Did you get a shipping email from them or something? I haven't heard anything since I was told it would ship this week. So unless it happens sometime today sounds like that's untrue ugh.

I did get shipping notice this morning after I posted (love my timing). It was exactly a week after I emailed them. Looks like they printed the label Thursday and it got picked up Friday. I thought they were doing g that final push so when Mondays update comes they can say they have shipped all backers.

I am still only a DEC. 13 backer, so I'm sure you aren't alone. Now hope I get a good one.

In my last email from Caroline she stated that her "best guess" is that my GH would be shipping in about a week.

A week for me would be Feb 1, so I'm thinking the rest of the backers GH's "may" all be shipped by the end of the first week in February. Here's "hoping"...  (Dec.14th Backer)

It takes them 75 minutes to assemble a GH. There are a lot of back orders and folks that are ordering units every day, I would imagine if you ordered today maybe we wouldn't get a unit until summer? I guess it would depend on how many snafus get in the way. I still don't want to order and have my $200 tied up and no vape to show until maybe summer or maybe not.

I think there are still too many maybes still for me. I want to see a larger production line, or maybe there is? I'm curious about the size of the company? Does anyone know?

Edit
With so many people waiting for units, that doesn't seem like enough employees to do the job. Thank you @YaFreekin Right - that tells me a lot.

Can someone explain how they can possibly build 100 a day with 3 people doing assembly? Or even with all six employees doing assembly exclusively, for 8 hours a day?

With 3 people assembling, that's like under 30 a day... I'd say closer to 20...maybe...since it;s not factoring in returns of broken devices.

They can't do it because they never actually said that they are building 100/day. They said "we’ve gone from shipping just a few units per day to over 100". Units shipped/day != Units built/day.

These guys need to raise prices ASAP if it is taking them 75 min/unit just on assembly time. Once you add QA/QC & shipment logistics, I can't see them making any money on them.

I see them spending all their time with customer service at this point. Dealing with the returns and fixing faulty units.

You need to spend some money to make money with a business. That has been my experience.

They need to increase their production line. The few employees that they have working for them doesn't make any sense with so many units that they need to assemble and send.

I asked Caroline if GHL would do address confirmations for pre-orders the same way they did for backers.

She said
"We will be sending address confirmations to all pre-orders prior to shipping their Grasshoppers".

That'd be me :D (not to gloat), it just came to me whilst talking about my crafty, whilst on this thread and Volteric tested it straight away.
So glad everyone is enjoying it ;)

Although, after all this talk about it.... it's making me so impatient with my grasshopper preorder.

I check the grasshopper order page atleast 2-3x a day, in hope it might miraculously say "January" instead of "march2016"
Also check this thread daily.

As a joke my girlfriend says I have a "grasshopper addiction" and that I need help hahhahah.... But there is always a kernel of truth to every joke I suppose

Grasshopper rehab? Grasshoppers anonymous? Probably VAS/FC anonymous... Lol

Mine still says January... I'm sure they'll be shipping it in the next few hours right guys?

Mine still shows Feb 2016 for estimate. It does seem like everybody with one of these has had at least one issue. It doesn't seem like GHL can sell 1 device and replace it 2-3 times and still make money?

Where does it say that 75 minutes is sequential and not in total? Seems people think they're spending 75 minutes all together on one grasshopper.

Perhaps it does take on average 75 minutes to build a hopper, but maybe they build in batches. IE - one day they build back-ends, another day they build bodies, etc.

It's not even worth guessing at how many hoppers they are really shipping per day, there are simply too many variables involved and not enough information provided by GHL.

Probably 3 or 4 folks assembling 3 or 4 GH/hour. Their cumulative labor would be a little over an hour/GH. Not possible for that to be translated as the whole team takes 75 minutes to build just one GH and then moves on.

If they say they are shipping 100/day and have roughly 9-10 folks assembling, it is possible to meet production each day.

Again, what is the practical difference? It takes 75 minutes of work to assemble one, whether they are timing from start to finish for a single one, or adding up the time taken for all the steps performed, even if they are working on multiple ones in parallel.

The "75 minutes" comes straight from them, as does "shipping 100 a day", and the "3 people doing assembly" comes from one of those 3 employees.

I think folks that have received their hoppers and have had a positive experience would of course be more tolerant of GHL.

After all this is the guessing thread @Ratchett All folks have to go on is what they print in their by weekly and monthly updates. 75 min to make a grasshopper is what i understood and only a few people working on them. Plus someone is dealing with fixing the units that people are sending back.

Have they stopped taking pre orders? I don't think they have. So preorders keep coming in and they really aren't able to keep up because they are just starting the back orders MAYBE this week.

They need the preorders to keep coming in to pay for their business expenses. I hope the company can survive because those on the bottom might get screwed if they don't. Kinda like a Pyramid investment type company.

Dec 15 backer here. Got address confirmation on Jan 14th. Nothing since.
I got mine on the 12th. Shipping email on the 30th. I guess when you look at it that way, they are closing the gap between those two dates compared to some in the past.
