i can't recommend the aerospaced black grinders. whatever its dyed with stained my hand blue after one use. never had this happen with an anodized grinder as advertised, which leads me to believe its paint. good thing it has a lifetime warranty. back in the mail you go.

What color is the grinding area in your black aerospace?

black

Did you ever clean your grinder before first use? when did you buy it? does it have the o ring around the bottom piece?
metal flakes are created usually when the teeth scrape together when you are grinding, the o ring is put in place to prevent this.

yes, i cleaned my grinder before first use (i'd bought a kelly prior and it had shards/flakes as well, so i was kinda aware of the benefits of cleaning a new grinder before use). interestingly, i did not notice any flakes/dust with the sc until after a few weeks of use, i'd estimate. def had some decent use before i noticed any of this stuff.

bought it about a year ago iirc.

there is a translucent o-ring, yes.

its possible that its just defective, assuming you are not putting too much pressure on it or anything that might get the teeth to grind together. I believe you can send it back and get a new one for free ?

If it's truly anodized then there should be 100% 0 flakes or dust. Anodizing doesn't create a layer on top of the metal like paint or any other coating, it becomes part of the top layer of the alum leaving nothing to flake off, or rub off in your hands. Unless it's the actual alum.
For the titanium it's probably an alum. body with a titanium oxide coating, like a paint job but not. It's used a lot for coating mild steel that is going to be severely used, abused and weathered. Public parks monkey bars and what not are coated in it instead of general powder coating, less toxic i suppose. But it lets them say its titanium right

i'm starting to think that iso may not be too kind to most anodized grinders finish. especially anodized grinders with colored tints. has anybody tried Purilizer grinder cleaner that mix n ball makes/sells? i'm sure it's not good for reclaim, but it says it does not damage the finish.
I have the Purilizer cleaner and have used it quite a bit, on MnB and other brands. It works very well. Doesn't take much and is kind of soapy. MnB warns not to use any other kind of soap on their grinders, due to the anodizing. I don't know if any other kind of cleaning product would harm the finish, or what happens when you use soap or detergent, but I've also used ISO quite a bit on this brand, with no ill effects. IMO MnB has an excellent anodizing process. It doesn't scratch unless you dig into the metal. I'd say the Purilizer does at least as good a job as ISO, and maybe even makes for a quicker cleanup. The eBay seller that has auctions for some 2 pc. MnB grinders also sells the cleaner- 3 pack for $9 delivered. Obviously ISO is cheaper, but Purilizer is a good option.

Can anyone recommend me a decent grinder for less than $22? I have always torn my herbs by hand, but I recently bought a mflb and saw that it needs a better grinder than what it comes with. I only have $22 left on my visa gift card and I dont exactly trust debiting on my computer.

chromium crushers are nice, but i would recommend the 2 inch 4 piece to compliment the LB. the holes are much smaller and will provide a much finer grind.

I literally JUST ordered the cosmic mini/bottlecap 2 piece... reports on the forum say it fine grinds perfect for the LB... and it was 21.50 or something with shipping from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Cosmic-Case-M...TA/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1304198401&sr=8-23

I'm pretty stoked... I have a medium SC 2 piece, and it's GREAT, but only great for like... joints, or other combustion purposes... could never get it to grind fine enough for the LB unless I loaded the grinder and froze it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes prior to grinding... usually I just end up using the orange plastic 2 piece that came with my volcano because that thing can grind anything to dust, and I hear that's what the cosmic case does too... plus it's great for portability.

I scissor cut all my herb. I find the hits to be much better from all of my vapes when I scissor cut.

It's actually quite simple to do and it has dramatically improved my vapor yield.

Just use a regular shot glass that you'd get a shot of whiskey in in a bar. The old fashioned 1.5 to 2 oz. size, not the fancy tall ones that some trendy bars use these days. Get an old school shot glass. You'll find the rounded shape of the bottom is quite condusive to keeping the herb in a central location while you chop chop chop away using a small pair of scissors vertically. It only takes about a minute or two to chop up about 1 gram of herb, so I think it's worth the extra effort.

I use my 2 piece Mendo Mulcher for a quick initial grind, then I dump it into the shotglass for the scissor cut; however you can just scissor cut a whole nug if you like. I just find it easier to do a quick grind and then finish it up in the shot glass.

You're in luck! I was just about to grind up some Blue Dream, so I took a few pictures.

Here you'll see the results of the initial grind (I used my 4-pc MM because I can't remember where my 2-pc is :uhoh: ).

Here is how I do my scissor cut...

Here is the results... You can't really tell from these pictures, but the finer "grind" that I get with the scissors really does give a noticable "vapor yield" boost to many vapes. You can get the same grind much easier with a coffee grinder, but I find them to de-kief my bud too much, so I go old school.

I used to just do that for my LB herb, but I have found it to really works well in other vapes, too.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.

the push and grind gets the ultra fine grind to stretch out the stash.

minimal loss in comparison to any of the conventional style grinders i have seen (this is one of the reasons i use it), but the push and grind works best with smaller amounts, since it is a rather small device.

it'd be perfect for a mflb, log style vape, or any vape that does well with an extremely fine grind.

Here are initial impressions on the CC:

Not 2 piece as advertised and listed on box. Is really a three piece. There is a hollow third piece on the bottom which is attached by a low surface area friction fit. Stash area? Dunno.

The "gasket" is very thin, flimsy, and distorts when grinding. Definitely not nylon.

Machining seems OK, but there are many tool marks that make it appear sloppy.

Made in China

I thought it might be good for grinding spices for seasoning food while camping. It does grind coffee and black pepper, but it is a coarse grind. I know that this is not the intended purpose.

Would not purchase again, but it might work well for others. It was cheap at $17, so none of this is surprising.

^^^i got one of those too a few months back. came broken, as you can see.

CC's can bee sketchy at times. i have recieved a few in my time that were unfinished and had weld marks and shit all over the inside. gotta inspect it well before use.

what vendor did you order from?
