@RUDE BOY that detail helps as well I don't think I've ever completely drained it maybe just once actually. But who knows, perhaps several full uses of the battery at the start help with sort of breaking in the vaporizer.

I actually haven't been bumping the temps and comparing but at least it's something fun to do while on the city commute home :sherlock:

I really have no idea how to replicate the change in performance if it defaults back to how it was, wish I did.

I bumped up 7 clicks as well for a few days and then bumped back down to 4 I think. A couple days later it seemed like production got much better and much easier. Perhaps there is something to taming the feedback from the draw sensor.

I have also replaced the glass in the mouthpiece with a Daisy intake...aren't you a Daisy guy??? You should try this, the hits are incredibly smoother and the heat irritation I was getting from the stock mouthpiece is no more!

I put a second order in this morning for mouthpieces, but they didn't make it out today... Not that I cared if they did really... They are backup.


So nobody posting pictures? Come on.. We need something new to look at... I will post pics when I get mine. I'll try and make me a wood holder for the mouthpieces too.

I got some buckeye here that would look gorgeous. I got walnut that would match but I love buckeye... Hmm.. Inlet a magnet into the wood holder, then put a metal plate on the vape, like you get with magnetic cell phone holders, then easy on and off....

Ideas... And I ain't even got it yet lol

I was initially concerned about using glue and was thinking of a metal brace or something, until I had a closer look and realized that it was originally put together using glue.

That is when i sent an email to Marc at firewood (the maker of fw3 as far as i know) asking about the glue he uses, or at least what he would recommend. He recommended ca wood glue. I assume, therefore, that is what he uses (or similar?) And also the break was at the bottom where it was glued already, and where it does not get very hot.

I then thoroughly researched ca glue safety and it seems pretty safe, especially once cured, so i went ahead and used it. I also let it cure twice as long as necessary (48 hours) and after that i blew alot of air into the unit from all angles.

I couldn't smell any glue smell at all after all this, so don't have any major concern.

If you wanted to be extra sure, Gorilla glue has a "food safe" type of rating, or the medical stuff they use instead of stitches would be even safer (and more expensive) i assume, but my brother already had a number of types of ca glue lying around so we used the locktight version (as it said it was for wood too) If i had none already i would have bought Gorilla glue to use.

Finally, keep in mind i live outside USA so sending it back wasn't really an option for me.

I'm wondering if you did an inadvertent reset procedure by letting the batteries run dead? I have read about others loosening the lid to temporarily disconnect the batteries and resetting their units. However, the reason for the poor performance from the beginning is a bit of a mystery.

Does this device smell even when being used ?

I haven't chanced it really but I blew some vape at my bro and he said it didn't smell like anything.

Also been congested past few weeks from the cold :ko:

All vapes smell in use and the vapor definitely smells.

I'd say it smells most when a particulate falls down on the heater.

Otherwise a loaded capsule smells but the empty Firewood doesn't.

Thanks for confirming hastily @paytonpenn ..

I feel like the vapor is different in a way and clears out possibly faster. Ive been using it around my wife in the living room also while cooking in the kitchen (window open).

curious as to what other one hitter short and fast sessions can be done with minimal blackening.

I've tried doing a few capsules on 3 or 4 and sometimes I over do it and get some black. I guess just gotta be more sensitivity to the flavor and taste perhaps :science:

Mostly finding it to be the most satisfying indoors and comfy for a few minutes :zzz:

This is a very minimal smelling piece. I think because of its power and it's not constantly cooking and releasing vapor. I've actually used this at my desk without people noticing. My desk is kind of out of the way tho. My point being that this has to be the least smelling vape I have used.

Also the only place for passive smell to escape is in the mouthpiece so even pocketed with the mouthpiece in, it doesn't smell much; I think you have to be looking for it to notice it. Without the mouthpiece in, it smells like a piece of wood.

@Edric al-Fali i definitely agree on it being the least smelliest ..

I love how there's really no gunk or resin like buildup on the actually vaporizer as of yet (month or so everyday use)

There are some particulates on the heater unit within but this is easily remedied with pressurized or redirected air.

It works. Beyond that I don't really have much to compare it to. You can use cotton or some other fiber or something like the S&B oil pads and just put that with the wax on it in the capsule. Or you can use the sandwhich method and put a bit of cannabis in, put a bit of extract on there, and then put a bit of cannabis on the top creating a sandwich. I use the sandwich method when I've got some extracts and for my needs its been working wonderfully.

Some type of cap for the mouthpiece would be awesome.

I feel it would help a little with containing smell when not in use (although there is hardly any to start with) but would also stop dust or pocket debrit from getting in there whilst in transit.

An option in the meantime is to carry the loaded mouthpiece(s) in plastic AA battery holder, but i am keeping my eye out for a mouthpiece cap for simplicity.

Somebody earlier in the thread mentioned that corks for the Underdog stems will fit.

I got some nice results with concentrates but didn't like any of the videos I took, tomorrow I'm free so I'll see if I can retry and this time include herb+oil and cotton+oil.

Have to say I prefer the Hammer and VapCap for concentrates, this was my first hit from the video. ....It doesn't seem like FC supports gifv so there is a picture in that link. That clip was sped up and the actual overall time was 47 seconds. You can see at the end the milk was really about to start..

I use an old lip balm cap.
Works like a charm.
