Great Scott!
No one seems to be testing with concentrates. Filthy casuals! ;)

I really want to rip some excellent co2 or rosin in one. I'd review the hell out of it for oil, because I hate every portable oil solution sold besides the cera, which is long gone.

I know! I can't believe these people get to test them out when they aren't even using them to their full abilities! Haha all jokes aside I am willing to bet it's because the FF1 was a pain to clean when using concentrates from what I've heard. Hopefully we get some feedback soon though :brow:

I am assuming you've tried the Herc right? I just got it like a week ago and it's incredible, however the learning curve has been throwing me off sometimes. Usually it works like it should, sometimes it doesn't though and I haven't been able to figure out if it's user error or an issue with my concentrates lol.

I did try it. I found I had to rebuild or in some way tinker with it nearly every single time I had to use it. Thermovape had me spoiled.

Yeah I feel the same way. I guess only time will tell if I love it as much as everyone else. Got into concentrates too late to even know about the cera but it seems as though it was way ahead of it's time lol. I wish I could have tried one of them. Do you use concentrates exclusively at home now or do you have a different vape you're using for on the go?

The Haze does both, but at least with the v2.5 that I owned it didn't handle concentrates too well, just made a pool and produced very little vapor.

I mainly use concentrates at home, Or a pen if I need stealth. I like the FF2 screen less aspect. I'm just curious what is going to prevent globs of co2 oil dripping inside it.

Its a flower vape in my mind, but if it does concentrates well I'd be thrilled.

I don't think I am supposed to say much about my experiences since I tried a pre-production unit, but I was able to try 6-8 bowls with concentrates, and so far it's my favorite portable vape for concentrates. It still uses the same concentrate pads as the original Firefly, but the new 500f concentrate temp really gets the pad up to temp quickly and produces more dense/enjoyable draws for me.

@BuzzDanklin That is enough to get me to buy it honestly, unless in the next week I absolutely fall in love with my SR74X. I would really love to have a single device for both of my needs. I am pretty jealous of all of you beta testers, the release date can't come soon enough!

Yeah that's good news. That combined with the concentrate temp being hot enough to combust herbs. I can see myself leaving it on high bud temp most of the time, quick tap of an app and drop in a pad and bam concentrate mode.

I can see myself liking that. I'm still considering it a bud vape to manage expectations but I'm impressed and ready to give my $$ to get a hold of this.

How was battery life with the concentrates? I think we are going to have to find someone to recreate the SS pads in titanium if it is as enjoyable with concentrates as it sounds. Hell we could even get someone to make a quartz bowl that drops in etc lol.

Great to see you back here Buzz!

Also that's a phenomenal shot (as always), looks like the FF2 did well in the bitter cold snowy mountains, even if it was only briefly. Also digging that icy beard bro, now thats what I call extreme environment testing! ;)

I was thinking of purchasing the FF and have now seen the ff2 is available soon. Is it worth while waiting? Is ff2 that much better?

Any advice would be appreciated.

OK, I'm really much more interested in this as the thread progresses :o
I'm looking forward to more in-depth reactions (and vid's).

Do any of you beta testers have a water tool adapter yet?

I'd love to know what it's going to cost.
If release is immanent and price is good I will be tempted to cancel my GH pre-order in favour of this or the Zion.

@mitchgo61 - do you know if the ff1 external charger works with the ff2 batteries? Sounds like it might.

The new batteries fit the old external charger. They don't snap out as easily as they do from the FF2...but easier than getting an FF1 battery out of there.

I was gonna buy a FW3, but I'm gonna wait to se more from the FF2

I still haven't found any usable adaptor....I'm not much of a water guy so my accessories are limited.

Release news is coming very soon. I don't have the news....I just know it's coming really soon. We should know order and release dates very very shortly.

New looks at the back and front posted from FF twitter feed on Reddit:

Yeah two batteries in every box @mitchgo61! Now that's some value, especially since they're so much more efficient

And they say six temp settings now!

360-380-400-420-500

Then also 340 perhaps?! :brow: Or maybe even some kind of temp stepper setting?

Just spit balling here, with the app I'm sure they can be adjusted later on too...

Yes, there are six counting "Concentrates" (Low, Med-Low, Med, Med-High, High). I'm not sure what the temp ranges are for each....they were being tweaked up till the last minute. (I assume 500 is concentrates.)

The app doesn't currently allow you to change the range of the settings...not sure if there are plans to change that.

I've been okayed to post a couple prototype pix since the production photos are showing up now. Here's a shot of the screenless bowl, one of the big FF2 improvements:

Here's a shot of the mouthpiece. The production piece is slightly different but the screen design is the same, and again, another huge improvement...catches a surprising amount of debris:

You mean with the lid? This gives you a good idea of how simplified the lid is....again, not the final version but close apparently. You can see how it's really just one smooth surface inside of the seal. Another major improvement. So much easier to clean. (Bonus points if you can guess the strain.)

The original FF has 50w heater I believe, did anyone else find out what FF2 is running? I thought I found 45W somewhere but not sure.

If using same 770 battery hopefully they have better supplier and newer tech is much more efficient with batteries.

My guess on price would be $299 seeing as how you get extra battery and going to assume cost of design and engineering new one wasn't as much as original FF required to get to market.
Hopefully its not much more than that with so many other vapes coming to market soon.
