My secret to THC E-Cig PG-Liquid... Potent, Effective, Cheap, Easy!!!

I have this kind of cartridges:
http://image.dhgate.com/0x0/f2/albu/g1/M00/6C/17/rBVaGFWTiiSAHL_6AAFHv0l3oNQ359.jpg

I use mod evic-vtc mini. I vape those atomizers on ~6W.

About my mixing technique; I put a shot glass in a pot with water and boil until almost boiling. First I put EJmix, then wax. I wait like 2 mins untill it melts. Then I start mixing with syringe 'till its completely mixed (It takes maybe like 10mins, maybe a little bit more). Got that into syringe and wait to cool down.

are they (atomizers) not firing at all or your not satisfied with the amount of vapor or level of medication? Is this the first time you've tried o.pen style THC vaping? If so it is (to me anyway) a great deal more mellow and less stunningly potent than combusting fine herb...

I use those o.pen carts and vape between 3.7-4.2W. How long are you activating the battery for? Do you hear any crackling or snapping from the cart (might have to listen closely)?

Ya, I haven't tried CC so I can't compare. There are a bunch of flavors of HT. Avoid using Philosopher by itself. It has a very strong pine sap taste. It needs to be mixed with other things. I really like the taste of Couch Lock (myrcene in it gives a dank bud aroma and taste). Those are the only two I've tried but the flavor descriptions on their site were accurate so read them all and it should help you find one you'll like.

Sounds interesting, bummer the site is down. So they sell by the bottle, not just carts and syringes? I've never seen them. All the dispensaries I go to in LA carry the same 3 brands: Spliffin, Eureka, and Varavo, then house carts and syringes.

However, you just made me realize something. I see this Krypted brand on menus all the time and I thought it was a tincture, but it's not, it's vape juice. I just checked. They sell by concentration, so a bottle with 120mg thc is $25 and 250mg is $40. Still steep really. I might try it next time I'm at a shop.

Here's their Instagram (what the hell is with companies having Instagram accounts instead of web pages lately, it's like the entire cannabis industry just moved into Instagram):

Crap. I bought the philosopher only. What do you suggest I mix it with?

Great question!
Some atomizers like tanks and rebuildable tanks are designed with the smoker in mind- to get a similar warm and thick volume of vapor into their mouth, to then inhale from there- aka mouth to lung inhales
I actually couldn't fathom the idea of extreme subohming, and assumed it'd irritate my throat too much, as I cough for like.. no reason when vaping; especially with very strong/thickly flavored juices.

Now obviously, I have no issues with it, given I know/test my builds on known juices before trying new ones

edit- just to add, lower resistance/higher wattage coils will fire much hotter and as a result, require you hit them faster if you want to avoid burning, depending on the setup
the best way to ensure perfect control with wattage mode is by playing with the potential heat flux.. aside from having actual temp control mods available :brow:

Oh and to add more to the thread, I'm a huge fan of the Japanese cotton pads myself, can't stand the organic cotton balls for some reason..

I'm going to put the strongest infused juice (home made Green Dragon tincture recipe) into all my four pen tanks and with the set up of 0.8 or less, stick all four pens in my mouth and suck as hard as I can to mimic a electronic bong hit. And just to be safe all keep all my pens on the lowest watt ;)

I set those atomizers on 6W, 3.76V, and 2.53 Ohm. At this setting I'm getting a little bit of vapor, clouds aren't that big.

@zebra
It's like maybe my 3rd time with e-juice vaping. Last two times I made liquid from not-that-good shatter, which was dark, not stable, and didn't stink at all. That juice didn't work well, but I think it was because of bad quality of oil. 3-4 dabs leaved me kinda satisfy (too many like for person who has never dabbed, I guess). Now I got some BD wax, its suppose to be over 90% THC, but I can't even check it via dabbing if that's true. I made 2 juices from that wax, one in ratio 2:1, another in 1:1 (I used 0.2, and 0.3 of wax) Filled that tanks, took more than 10 puffs and nothing. Maybe subtle 'touch'.

@zor
One puff takes like 6-7 seconds. When puffing, I can hear something between crackling and snapping.

This might be an obvious one but how many drops of the ejmix did you use for your .2 & .3 mixes?

what is the viscosity of your mix looking like? Thicker or thinner than honey? if thicker you may need to add more EJ, if much thinner you may have added too much and diluted it more than you may have wanted... I think thats what Otto was getting at too...

So...

do we actually have a list of terpenes that might work because they are in a liquid form at room temp and easily dissolve the oil. Assembling a list of the most common terpenes that might fit this bill, and secondly and even better, a list of essential oils from other plants that might be used for this purpose would be an alchemists dream...

I was thinking of this when rethinking about the d-limonene alone route. It would have a better shot at working if we could keep it below 1procent, and have it accompanied by some other accompanying terpenes found in our beloved plant. And then again find a natural source to make such mixture.

I mean, it just makes more sense to at least explore this route then using PG or VG based blends. Do not get me wrong, if it works for you that is great, and it works for me too. I guess going the all natural and I can make this in my own kitchen route is just a dream of mine...

@randomtoker actually put out two of the way cooler links I've seen thus yet on the topic about two pages back. have a look below:

Really great info and an awesome place to start thinking of what you may want to add. Doesn't say how it would affect an thc e juice mix specifically but I think once we narrowed down which terpenes to try to add back we could research the specifics a bit more... there are def 3 terpenes that seem to be omnipresent in most cannabis...

I too dream your same dream lol...

I used 0.4ml of EJ (14 drops) with ratio 1:2, and 0.2 (7 drops) with 1:1.

Today I poured a little bit of my 1:1 juice (like 0.2?) a cotton in some strange atomizer. Settings set at ~17W. After couple of hits I was fully medicated. Not bad. So I think those chinese atomizers are just that bad. I don't know.
I remember you guys recommended K1 aspire, and probably Mini Pro Tank 2 (3?).
Is it still actual, or there are some better atomizers in the same price category?

Try it on it's own, you might not mind it. If you have any flavorless mix (like EJ, or puff majic, or vapeur extract), dilute the philosopher with some of that? Or, if you have some limonene, add like 1-2%? Lemme know how it works out for you.

A lot of people have good luck with the K1. I haven't tried it but I used a Mini Protank3 for a while, wanted to try it since it's dual coil. I keep it for an overflow (leftovers) tank. I started using bigger tanks with sub ohm coils and I prefer that route now.

Actually, I'm wondering if we should start a new thread specifically for "advanced" sub ohm THC juice vaping. Somewhere to share DIY juice recipes with people who use pg/vg, review larger tanks and mods and sub ohm, and most importantly builds and resistance / wattage / voltage specs specifically for what works best for THC juice (different from the advanced one hitter thread). This thread appears to mostly catch people starting out, or intentionally remaining with dispo/pen gear, or looking for alternatives to liquefying their concentrate into (other than e-juice), or looking to dissolve their concentrate in as little as possible. However, it seems like there is a growing number of people interested in thc juice vaping (pg/vg) in advanced gear. Since switching to larger sub ohm tanks myself, I already want to start learning builds and I don't want to confuse the conversation here by talking about that. What do people think? Should I start a new thread (advanced THC juice & sub ohm gear)?

It sounds as though your liquid isn't at fault.

I took florduh's advice and tried the Vaporesso cCell atomisers.
I got an Aspire Atlantis to run them as it is available from DH Gate for peanuts.

This setup is a surprisingly big step up from my (simple) dual kanthal coiled RDA.

For what it's worth, my eLeaf Melo2 has been the most leak free tank I've owned. Not even a little residue at the battery connection. Overall, I enjoy the subohm setup. Once you find the best wattage it provides a great vapor experience.

However, I'm becoming less enchanted with Temperature Control. My issue is it is impossible to get a consistent vape. 420 degrees will be great, but an hour later the temp control will kick in immediately so you need to set it to 500 just to get a little vapor production. I tried it with nicotine juice as well and noticed a similar issue. According to Google, it is possible my eLeaf iSticks aren't the best for TC but I'm not willing to spend much more for a super advanced mod.

I needed more coils anyway so I tried these Vapresso Ceramic Coils at .9 ohms. Allegedly, they are supposed to prevent dry hits, burning, and spitting. As these were the major benefits of TC to me, I was looking forward to trying them out. After one night of testing, I'm pretty impressed. Definitely no spitting, and it was hard to get a burnt hit. The taste was also very clean and clear.

I thoroughly agree, thanks for the steer @florduh

@NorVape Budy pens and o.pen vape I think?
A buddy got a CO2 pre-filled 'Jetty' pen from a dispensary recently, and I honestly can't stand the thing..
It tastes like that classic 'not the best quality oil on a nail' flavor to me..

Anyway @randomtoker fire up the Sub-Ohm thread! I'd generally agree that it could make this all a bit less confusing- or daunting even- for someone just looking to be discreet.

I'd be very into a new thread. I've been doing a lot of research looking just at e-cig forums and the electronic cigarettes reddits. And they all have really strict policies against talking about cannabis consumption, some even prohibit discussion of cannabis flavored e-juice. So it's not clear if their recommendations carry over to thc e-juice.

I'm also really interested in making CBD e-juice and was wondering if that's been covered here. I'm working on getting my hands on a cbd concentrate and was wondering if making a cbd e-juice was basically theoretically similar to making THC e-juice.

On the topic of gear I've got one of the new Joyetech Cuboid mods coming and the Aromamizer RDTA by Steam Craze, for anyone interested the lowest prices I found were from VapeNW. This was based on recommendations from
Nicotine e-juice vapers and I'm hoping it ends up working for thc and cbd e-juices as well. If it doesn't it's a popular enough RTA that I'm hoping I'll be able to find someone who'd trade an aspire k1 and some coils to me. Though I'd kinda rather find an RDA that works as in the long run building my own wicks and coils is going to be way less expensive than frequently buying new coils repeatedly.

So basically the lower the resistance the more vapor produced in the shorter amount of time? If that is the case why would people want to buy higher resistance one like the 1.8, 2.0, 2.5, etc. in the first place? What is the benefit of it if they can't get more vape and the draw hits require more effort?

I'd be very into a new thread.

Posted new thread here:
Advanced THC e-juice / mods / tanks / coils / builds / recipes

I tried to come up with something that didn't sound too stupid (probably failed), and differentiated from this thread.

I think this thread is still very useful. I suspect a diy CC replacement may emerge here, and it seems to be a good place to ask where's the best place to order the bud / o.pen style carts (which changes often), and who's making the good ones, among other things.

I'm currently using O.pen-style plastic carts: they come in different tank sizes - I have .6 ml. I brought these pre-loaded to San Jose del Cabo in Mexico. 4 or 5 pages ago (or more) I explained what I did: 3.5 grams of concentrate to 1.2 ml CC and 2 ml EJmix. It is working very well for me. How many hits depends on how saturated the wick is, and how well my 510 Ego batteries are firing. 2 or 3 hits. I'm in vacation-mode, so I'm expecting high usage, pun intended. I expect to dispose of all carts prior to returning to US.

The one thing I'm still struggling with is avoiding the burned taste/feeling. I will occasionally get a harshness that causes me to cough and not pull as deeply, happens on 3.5W and occurs more prevalently at higher wattage.

I've found pulsing the power button helps but I can't consistently avoid this taste, it seems. I might go back to the manager subtank and aspire k1 tank I have to play around a bit more with this, I wonder if subohm vaping would produce a better experience...

The process would be similar to the procedures discussed here, just replace the thc extract with your cbd extract and take into account the viscosity of your material
