Does anyone have a cure for the munchies ,besides eating?

munchies.......yup, brutal blessing/curse to most mj users. here's one I havent seen on here yet, next time your grocery shopping, pick up a whole bunch of mangoes.

Mangoes contain a chemical that increases the permeability of the blood-brain barrier, allowing more THC to cross over and get you lifted.

So, you'll feel the effects more AND have something tasty to munch on! win-win situation my friend!:D

Try eating some fruit though if you don't like mangoes, that always works for me!

I don't know how much overlap there is between the stoner community and the fitness community, but for those who don't mind putting on weight as long as it's muscle, the munchies might be used to great advantage. Here's what I'd be doing just about every time I finish exhausting myself on the weights, if not for those pesky drug tests:

1. Immediately drink my post-workout protein shake.

2. Vaporize about half a bowl with my VG.

3. Sip water frequently, go about my business, and wait for the normal, colossal, post-workout hunger to set in about an hour later, nicely amplified by the herb.

I know the OP specifically asked for a cure for the munchies, but I thought I'd suggest a way to exploit them instead of fighting them.

By the way, does anyone else here eat every two or three hours, as most modern personal trainers seem to recommend? I find that adhering to this practice means it's as likely as not the munchies will coincide with a scheduled meal, which solves the problem. I do get junk-food cravings when I'm high, but I find I can usually handle them the same way I handle them sober: I tell myself that if I still want the pizza or ice cream after I've eaten my grilled chicken breast with rice and vegetables, I'll go for it. Almost always, I decide I don't want the bad stuff.

IMO, there's absolutely no reason the herb and fitness can't be compatible. They mesh rather well, actually.

I have pretty good will power when it comes to not eating when I'm high, used to get munchies really bad and pig out of anything I could (nachos, burgers, lollies, ice cream), now I just keep a glass of water nearby and sip on that often and it does the trick.

I was finding increasingly that I didn't feel good after eating crap and had to make a change, hard at first but easy after a little while.

There is no cure and never will be.

I held off for a few hours last night and it only made the food taste better. Even trying to have food around that I do not like doesn't work. Last week I ate breaded liver with melted cheese and I HATE liver.

Like others, I like to eat <30mins before i vape, so i dont get hit with the munchies too quick. I also pre-hydrate a bit before vaping by drinking about 12-16 fl oz of water, and I either drink water or tea between hits.

I really don't let myself give into munchies very often because of how it decreases your buzz and makes you just feel like napping. I'd rather be :o than have a stuffed-stomach, i tell myself. I definitely like fresh food if i do have to give in to the munchies though. I don't fit the pepsi, funions and doritos stoner stereotype i guess.

Although, i will admit that i did eat the majority of a blueberry pie after my session with the ssv last night :brow: and put a good dent in the caramel apple pie too, :uhoh:

In my own personal experience, I find that the munchies don't really go away when you eat something. So no matter how much you eat, your brain doesn't seem to throw the "off" switch like it would if you were eating without the munchies. So I just used this knowledge to tell myself "self, you're gonna feel hungry whether you eat or not...so what's the point?" After using the volcan mind-tirck on myself for a while, I stopped getting the munchies altogether. I used to go through an entire bag of those mini snickers bars and would feel like shit afterward. Now I just obstain, and it doesn't really bother me too much anymore.

I celebrate and embrace the munchies by munching on healthy items, like apples or oranges, baby carrots etc.
i feel satisfied but not bloated. it's a matter of what you choose to stuff your face with.
my guilty pleasure with that is i like to dip stuff into peanut butter. OTOH...
ice cream, cheese doodles - absolutely i would feel like shit after.
also i drink alot of water during my vape sessions, sometimes warm tea as well.
that itself often reduces or distracts me from getting to that "I must eat something" point.
