Doesn't feel like much has changed since the last update.
Except for the fact that they now have one induction core for vaporizing all materials instead of three separate ones. Also it seems they have made real progress on the dry herb susceptor.

October Update!

All-in-One Induction Core

It’s been a while since our last update, but the lab has been buzzing along, striving to revolutionize the vaporizing market. The biggest news concerns the development of an all in one induction core. The design in our original Indiegogo campaign called for 3 different Evoke units, one optimized for dry herb, one for concentrate and one for e-liquid. After we developed our prototypes, we developed the ability to manufacture one unit for all 3 materials through the use of swappable induction cores. We’ve taken this thinking even further by asking the question—what if we could make one core that worked with all materials and never had to be removed?

We are pleased to announce that Evoke will only use one induction core to vape all materials. The induction core will be removable if it’s necessary to clean it, but you will not have to remove it to vaporize different materials, or to change capsules. Feedback from the community is that this is a major improvement to Evoke’s convenience and ease of use.

This means:

• All units will work with E-liquid, dry herb and concentrate, with no additional add-ons or parts needed.

• The induction core system is even simpler, you no longer have to remove the core to change materials—just swap out your used capsule with a fresh one and you’re good to go.

Dry Herb Update

We are pleased to announce major progress on dry herb vaping. The configuration of the dry herb susceptor is something that we’ve been working on for quite a while because we wanted to create something that vaporizes dry leaf quickly and efficiently, and also something that vaporizes dry leaf evenly throughout the capsule.

We’ve developed a number of innovative susceptor designs trying to spread the heat evenly throughout the dry herb chamber, without compromising vapor taste or heat time. As you can see, we’ve had many evolving versions ideas along the way.

Our latest dry herb susceptor is a magnetic metal encapsulated in ceramic. This susceptor heats up quickly and spreads heat evenly throughout the chamber. The dry leaf is only in contact with ceramic, so it tastes great. We are confident that this will make Evoke the quickest heating, best tasting dry herb vaporizer.

There is better news here!

Glass capsules are for wax & e-liquid since they told us dry herb will be in contact with ceramic, isn't it?

Also we need to be very, very patient.

I'm trying to understand that too. What i think, reading and watching the video, is that dry herb susceptor is a metal capsule (needed for induction work), coated by ceramic inside (for better taste than in touch with the metal) inside a glass capsule (maybe for better fit into the mouthpiece following the e-liquid and concentrate susceptors shape and also for prevent herbs falling in the core). That's what i understood, i'm not an expert just a backer :D

I really like this update. love the fact that they're back to the idea of 3-in-1, not the three different models or cores. This makes the product more attractive and compatible to the price they're asking for pre-orders.

Don't mind they're taking more time to finalize it as expected, since they're trying to provide something good and really reliable (at least that's what i conclude for the long time they're spending). If I were complain now, would be for more frequent updates besides videos showing the product in use, even without the perfect operation, just for the backers watch the evolution. The long wait sometimes is distressing.

I'm still confident :myday:

The susceptor is not the container, its the ceramic coated piece of metal that goes in it with the flower. So I believe we will have glass capsules for everything.

This is what I got back when I live chatted my question about the evoke availability:

"The last generation was out, but is completely sold out. My supplier believes they will be back in stock before the end of November, but cannot give me an exact date. If you want to go ahead and order it, I will put you on the list to ship on arrival, but I can also email you when it comes back in and let you know."

On further contact, they are going to change it.They were mislead by their supplier, vapor nation which has this on their site:

http://www.vapornation.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=evoke

It wasn't sold out, it hasn't been produced! I guess it is one way to snag customers who are waiting, but I would prefer a bit of honesty. And, they caused the other folks to pass on the misinformation...

Why, because they are willing to take your money?

No, because I believe it is against the law to hold people's money more than 30 days if you don't have the product.....could be wrong on exact time you have to ship.....

Evoke already got my money!

The indigogo campaign has no promise of a product, you didnt actually purchase a product. If however you are part of the pre-order on their own website then you may be able to fight for your money back, but after 90 days no CC will look into it. With all the news of so many croud funded businesses tanking i wouldn't be surprised if this is soon to follow. http://gizmodo.com/kickstarted-drone-company-folds-along-with-3-4-millio-1743438482

I hate that it would be some FCers that loose their money, i shouldn't have ever posted this thread... sorry all...

Well, they are now "selling" the unit on several sites. It is either very close or they are trying to raise another pile of money to finish up what they started. The later would simply be despicable. Google Evoke Vape and see all the sites that say it is in stock!!!!!

I think they need money. I truly believe that's what's holding this back, they've said they need to sell another 2,500 units.

It's weird how they originally stated it'd cost 70k to produce this first round, and they still can't afford to do it.. In the past, James Lin's website said they raised an additional 250k outside of Indiegogo, and according to Neeraj they've raised a million.

Manufacturing will begin as soon as we finish manufacturing tooling and close our current round of financing. When will that be you ask? We hope to start in the first quarter of 2016 and will release concrete dates as soon as we have them. The truth is, building the first magnetic induction vaporizer has taken us longer, and cost us much more, than we anticipated- and we ask for your continued patience as we work tirelessly to deliver Evoke.

At least they finally admit what's been holding things back.

Who knows if we'll ever see this.

According to this recent video, release at the end of 1st or 2nd quarter of 2016.. And they regret sharing "too much information with media outlets".

Hm... Have they even built a functioning one yet? All the Prototypes were useless from what Ive seen.

And why on earth do they regret sharing with the media outlets...

So who wants to start the countdown?
