I emailed a few days ago and received a response today about why the last 300 are dragging and Caroline said...

Be happy that you even received a reply... my email chain suddenly just ended when I asked if it would be okay for them to waive the $15 shipping for a battery when they already have to ship my GH back from warranty. Maybe they'll charge me for the return shipping for warranty GH?

When it arrives, should I use it or sell it? This is my biggest debate right now based on what i've been reading.

Yeah I posted this so people could maybe understand why the shipping had slowed down not for her words to be called into question or for people to take personal offense. I'm not making an excuse for them but we don't know how dependent GHL is upon a person like Caroline. I do have permission to post emails from GHL, when I first began corresponding with them I specifically asked if they minded if I posted all future emails and they said it was cool.

I emailed a few days ago and received a response today about why the last 300 are dragging and Caroline said...

"We have about 300 backers left to ship Grasshoppers to. When these folks confirm their shipping address, many of them add additional Grasshopper to their orders. Also, we have a few retail kits that were purchased during the Indiegogo Campaign that we will be shipping before beginning pre-orders.

I hope this answers your questions for you.

Best,
Caroline"

Again we don't know what is going on inside their walls and they are people and have personal lives. I appreciated the candid response even if it was to appease me, which I doubt but idk. They are trying and I am patient. So, here I sit excitedly waiting to get mine.
I appreciate being able to read these emails, so thank you, and I'm glad that you got permission to post them. With my main question being a general "When?", I don't feel need to write to them, so I like getting some info from others.
Sorry the first email was taken down, maybe it can be re-posted with a "posted with permission" disclaimer? I guess that phrase would be a good thing to add any time content like that is posted.

what is your a delivery date they estimate for your order? March?

Yes, estimate is March.

But after reading this thread (from page 1)... I know better than to expect March
But that's ok, so long as I get a good quality product I don't mind.

I've been fighting VAS since backers first started receiving them.
Wish I preordered then :bang:... But all the initial failures were scaring me off. Decided to take the plunge as it seems people are being looked after with warranty :)

Yea I am pretty much done, did I mention I ordered two, ordered one for a friend also, his was worse, the backend would not even come off...he even tried tools.

Anyways, good luck to everyone else...seems you are gonna need it.
when did you recive your gh... as far as I can remember it is 2 to 4 months...
to be honest as far as I could read in the gh threads ghl is solving most of the problems people have... sending them new ghs or backends...
do not know why they do not solve your problems?

Since these GHs are basically beta units, the company should be paying for shipping these faulty units back to their company.

It doesn't seem like good business refusing to pay shipping. I realize it would cost the company a lot of money but it seems like the right thing to do. I'm wondering if I will even want to buy one of these vaporizers. It seemed like an awesome portable but only if it works as advertised.

I'd HAPPILY pay shipping BOTH ways if they would just answer their emails!

Looking forward to receiving mine in 3 weeks (1 week there, 2 weeks processing (hopefully), and 1 week to get back to me). Not sure how I even feel about this vape anymore. Fuck!

I would assume that money is the bottom line right now for them. I understand them being a new company and all but customer service is important too. Not customer service just for the backers but consideration for the customers that have ordered their units 1 and 2 years ago and are patiently waiting.

Hopefully after their company is more established the customer service will improve. It sounds like some of the backers have gotten awesome service.

I have received far from awesome service. But it's cool, some of us have been around long enough to have experienced WORSE, by some very "reputable" companies. I won't mention the name of the company that I actually had to file a chargeback with on my credit card. It's amazing to see how time changes things, almost like things never even happened.

Received my address confirmation on Jan 14. Finally got a Paypal invoice from Caroline about 40 minutes ago. Just paid for shipping (plus my extra battery/mouthpiece), so it looks like things are still moving, albeit slowly (what else is new?).

Looks like it will be a close call between my Grasshopper and Zion as far as which will arrive first. I'm betting Zion.

The thing that absolutely bothers me the most about this company is just the fact that they let backers add additional hopper units to their order upon address confirmation. I don't see how that's fair to the rest of us in line at all.

I totally agree with you here. I understand if months ahead of time someone says they want to add 1 grasshopper. But right now their resale value is $300-400++ so I am sure some people are ordering more with the sole intent of reselling it

EDIT: I have 2 grass hoppers, plus 2 stainless steel cases and extra batteries ordered. At this point I am thinking about canceling EVERYTHING except just 1 stainless steel grasshopper and then when its about to ship I will add everything else I want, much less risk that way

Haha yeah didn't see that coming, since backers should have been long done by now and Zion even got delayed! Thought I would be the first to have both as an early January pre order, but @Smoke1ForMe beat me to it and looks like so will you (perhaps with both being non beta versions too it seems)

That lifetime warranty is pointless if the CS after the sale sucks? The lifetime warranty is only as good as the company still being in business. Furthermore, they seem to be able to get "around" the lifetime warranty by just not accepting warranty service on a "used" GH?

There has only been the one case of @HillaryClinton with GH saying they won't warranty the unit. This has been resolved as far as I know and not the norm...

Sent mine in for warranty repair almost two weeks ago. Tried sending a follow up email days ago, still haven't heard back from them. This is beyond frustrating.

Not surprising

Exactly, I have very little spending money as of late, not really interested in paying money to possibly get another faulty unit.

Yes, because they're totally trying to send you a broken grasshopper. I hope you realize how much of a jerk you sound like in that comment.
mod note: Please review the rules. We don't allow name calling here.
GHL's knows me well, and as always, are gracious in there acceptance of my praises, FC forum defenses, QC challenges, & critiques. They received my latest email in like gracious fashion and responded that their quality control re my and every account order will get optimal QC out the door going forward. You're welcome... hmmm, only 19 FC posts and already attacking the veterans..

I'm simply pointing out how your e-mail will do literally nothing to increase HL's quality control. It is completely unnecessary because A) No company ever not tried to send out working products (as evidenced by their generic response about how they strive for the best quality control for all orders. Of course they're going to do their absolute best to send you a working product.) and B) No company will ever make any real changes because a guy sent them an e-mail saying "My product better work!". I'm not attacking veterans, your comment and e-mail were both just completely unnecessary and pointless. It doesn't matter if you're an FC veteran or not, a pointless comment is pointless (Just like your reply to me and even this comment). If I'm not allowed to point that out just because I have less comments than you then this is a really crappy forum. This isn't a crappy forum, therefore, I must be allowed to point out pointless comments despite the total number of comments I've made myself.

While GHL would never intentionally send out sub-par units, they have done so nonetheless. GHL knows that I will not accept a GH unit that is not 100% operational out their door and into mine, and that I do not wish to be inconvenienced with back and forth shipping hassles and expenses. Our correspondences and document record are preserved on that score. I believe my correspondence with GHL's will serve me well, though may or may not on behalf of others en masse. I cannot control that. You are entitled to your opinion regarding business and how it should or should not be handled, but my close to 50 years experience in some of the toughest businesses on Earth beg to differ from your criticism. Argue further if you will, it matters not a wit to me.

So if I understand this correctly you have a non-functioning GH but are going to give up on it because its not worth the hassle / shipping in your view. That's cool. So... any interest in doing a teardown for us? I'd be interested in seeing that heater.

Honestly, not sure how I would even go about it, I might send them videos of me just screaming at it why while holding the Grasshopper, might even cry a bit, pull out my pockets with lint falling out and scream why some more....I know some are mad at the CS, but maybe we will see if they have a sense of humor :D!
