Discontinued The Grasshopper

Are you using it as a session vape (e.g. Sit down and finish a bowl dry in 10mins).
Or are you just using it for a hit with cool down periods in between (e.g. >1 minute breaks in between hits)?

I'm trying to ascertain if waiting between hits will let the tip cool down and perhaps the vapor slightly too.

Good question. I'm a "maintainence toker" 2-3 tokes here, 2-3 tokes there. I'm not a session toker at all so you'll be surprise to hear this fucker gets hot fast. No way to explain it any other way. So within 2-3 tokes it hella hot on the lips and the vapor is really hot. It's bearable but if they could nexgen this with a cool mouthpiece without the need to condom it that'd be great!

Thanks for the response.

Last question, what's your draw duration?

Others have mentioned that if you adjust your draw duration/technique you can overcome some of the heat issues.
Some mention trying shorter draws?

I noticed with most of my vapes that if I draw hard, for a long enough period of time the mouthpiece heats up. So it stands to reason.

I hope the GH doesn't taste like circuit board. For as long as we've all been waiting it shouldn't taste that way. A lot of users have mentioned that the GH has some of the best tasting vapor so I'm worried. Does any one else agree that it tastes like circuit board qweefs?

I haven't tasted a bad hit under 3. I use very little per load and prob get up to 10 hits a load on 2.5. My sessions are usually two loads and then the battery is dead. The flavor is top notch all the way thru a load. Not qweefy.

I haven't had one issue with hot vapor, just a hot device (well, 3 of them). But, what vapor I think 'isn't hot' is someone else's vapor that's 'too hot'.

Feel free to ask me as many questions as you like. I'm in no hurry and I understand what it's like to await a purchase or to decide upon one.

Yes, I can adjust the draw duration to minimize some of the vapor/mouthpiece heat issues, but I don't think by much. The thing heats up in 5 seconds with super wattage so I expect some trade offs. Here's the bottom line brother: it's a hell of an achievement and I don't regret buying one. I use it more than my Pax2 and Crafty so I think that's saying a lot. It broke down and had to get fixed once which sucked ass but when it works I'm really digging it!

Oh as @Bass Vaper reminded me and as you asked: my draw durations are 8-10 seconds long. Lemme go try 3-5 seconds and let you know what i think

@Thcgos @Bass Vaper Yes, I think shorter draw durations eases the harshness of the vapor. It's funny because a couple of times I took shorter draws and thought to myself I'll shorten my draws a little because I notice a little difference. Now the mouthpiece is still the same heat to me. And you're right about one mans heat is another mans glow

Thanks again, I don't regret my purchase.
It's good to hear shorter draws are helping with the heat, even if only marginally.

I love my crafty, the cooling unit does a wonderful job.
But the GH will be my quick, "hit it and quit it", discrete, on the go vape.

Which gives me an idea.... :science:
Why not mate your crafty cooling unit (sans screen) to the grasshopper.

For those of you who don't have one let me explain with images:
pjpbhNb.jpg

Pop out the screen and the diameter of the hole looks like it would accommodate the GH mouthpiece.
Should easily accommodate it with the silicone sleeve.

Then plug and play (so to speak) :borg:

Give it a shot @Volteric :brow:

Holy Mother of Gwaaad!!! Are you serious!!?? Are you SERIOUS!!?? That was unbelievable!
I turned that up to 5, clicked it on, started drawing a closed to finish chamber and the biggest coolest cloud I've ever produced on the GH. Dude!!!

Hahahah fuck yeah!!!!
So glad to hear my idea worked!!
Enjoy!!!!

Even more excited to get my GH now!!

And the crafty cooling unit is so small!!! It folds up and would easily fit in your pocket for on the go use.
I didn't like the idea of carrying around a glass bubbler.

My exact sentiments!

I mean I just replicated the experiment. Dialed it to 5, ripped huge, smoothe, cool clouds. Here's the thing I really don't like the flavor profile at 5 so next chamber I'll dial it down to 2.5 and see if I notice a nicer flavor.

Dude this is huge!!! Seriously Nobel Peace worthy! Lol

EDIT: I'm using the silicone piece. Made sense and worked well in terms of connection

Ok, I'm distracted by football. So, you inserted the GH with the condom into the Crafty CU and benefitted from the cooling? That would be fantastic, since water isn't an option for me.

Until I get mine, I will have to live vicariously through you! Hahaha.

So much more portable than a bubbler and water.

@Thcgos Way to think outside the box!
Did you just take the Grasshopper to the next level!

Now I'm super pumped to get a Hopper!:D

Thanks, I hope we did the it to the next level!

I am normally a very patient person.... But right now..... I'm can't wait till i get my GH now. :(

Does either the Ti or SS retain the taste longer, or after 3 hits do both versions taste the same?

My experience is they are much more same than different. I'd even say they are identical in how they retain their taste. I notice the Ti feels a little cooler and the experience is slightly different but its a subtle difference. For example, I'd say the Mighty and Crafty are more different from each other than the GH SS and Ti.

Definitely need the seal from silicone mouthpiece. As you can imagine you still need to rip this like a mofo. But for sure the vapor is cooled down significantly and surprisingly!

Check this out: the best of 2 vapes were just combined. This is historic! We have the cooling qualities of the crafty without the long ass wait. We have insto-crafty folks!

HOW exactly does the crafty cooling unit work if it doesn't use water? is it something you put in the freezer? Does it use electricity?

I have no idea. If I had to guess I think it either draws in a lot of other air or maybe the air is taken on a handholding circuitous path of soothing whispers.

.................................................
The Crafty and Mighty both have a very effective (for its small size) cooling unit that gives a longer vapor path.
Like @Volteric said, "a circuitous path of soothing whispers". The vapor flows thru the passageways which have "webbing" for extra cooling surface area internally and external fins to help cool the unit. No electricity, no water, no freezer.

So, it creates a much cooled vapor. There is no free lunch however. Cooling of vapor equals condensing of vapor so the cooling units get a lot of gunk buildup BUT it's good reclaim that you can scrape and vape.

The vapor has no added moisture, like from a bubbler or hydratube so it is still very very dry. Cool but dry.
