next generation e-nails?

I'm pretty sure that there is nothing proprietary in all of the enail controller designs, they're all using pretty standard industrial controllers and techniques. most of them aren't really much in the way of a power supply, it's an SSR (solid state relay) wired to the mains triggered by a temperature controller of some description, the power handling will be defined by the max current/voltage that the SSR can handle along with the size of the fuse.

Errlectric uses all solid state. No PID and no relay. I've posted this before so bear with me.

Do you happen to know if third-party coils with the right pin-outs would be compatible with it? I'd love to upgrade to it someday but only if I can use my own nails with it and be able to replace the heaters separately.

I'm not sure. Of course their official position would probably be no or "voids warranty". But I don't see why any coil, wired properly, would not work. Their coils are 200w IIRC. It's not rocket science, just a heater and thermocouple. Mine has a 5 pin plug. The newer models only use a 4 pin plug.

@DieHard I stand corrected :D Although that's a nicely done custom design with no 'pid' I reckon it probably still uses the same PID techniques in that PIC chip :) If you dismantle a PID at it's core will be some kind of 8bit/32bit MCU, not trying to take anything away from anyone, just that it's an industrial process already solved many times over.

Oooooooh, pretty!

How does the seal compare to V2 D-Nail carb-cap?
It seals great. The BMS carb cap has a faceted bottom so it's perfectly flat with a small slit in one side for air flow. The CCA SC doesn't seal quite as well but works good.

Edit: As for the Errlectric ... the one that I've used was nice but it took forever to heat up and the temp fluctuations during a dab was pretty intense with the titanium nail. I realize that the long heat up etc is supposed to be a special "feature" that the Errlectric has in it's programming to extend the life of coils but with the price of coils being so cheap these days I feel like Errlectric needs to rethinking their design and programming to heat up quicker and accommodate interchangeable coils/nails. Their unit is one of the least versatile on the market and one of the most expensive, too.

Interesting, both of mine are usually up to temp in about 2 minutes. Maybe it needed the Firmware update. Expensive, yes. So are a lot of the finer things in life. To each his own. I am glad that the enail market does have so much competition. It will keep the innovators doing what they do best, innovating.

I want to give a thumbs up to the enail setup that Divine Tribe sells. It is reliable and you have a choice of quartz nail or banger or Ti. Cost is $155-$160 depending on the nail you choose.

Matt's customer service is great, too.

That being said....I will upgrade the included nail one of these days. I am leaning toward the Liger v2. It is beautiful.

I didn't even know Divine Tribe made full size enails? I really like their ceramic doughnut atomizers though. Glad you like it, Which nail did you choose with it?
Did you get a 16 or 20mm coil?
Either way I HIGHLY suggest the Liger as I'm sure you have already read! Haha. And I think you will really like dealing with Josh out of Colorado at CCA. He is really a class act. If you have any function questions or want any close up pics or videos of the Liger before you pull the trigger let me know. And other people here have just about every other setup you can think of to ask questions about! Either way I would go with the SiC insert if I was only getting one. Although I still use the quartz insert quite often for a slight change. I love the low temp convection dabs, seems to make monster dabs out of the smallest drop of shatter or wax.

hey so i'm about to get a new nail for my enail. pretty sure i'm going to go with d-nail halo. just don't know which one to get. sic or quartz? i've been rocking quartz for a while now and while i love it, i can say i am very intrigued by the sic halo. unfortunately, i do not have the $$ to get both at this time. so what say yall, quartz halo or sic halo?

side note: is there any place other than d-nail that sells their stuff? i feel like the quartz halo has been sold out forever it feels like

Pretty sure DT doesnt make anything. It appears that Matt just rebrands---he has been transparent about this with some products. I do think he provides a lot of feedback to the manufacture and influences product evolution. The enail on his site looks very familiar to about 20 other "brands" that I have seen.

Check your local head shop or search some related hashtags on instagram (#dnail #glassforsale, etc) as generally if a headshop is on instagram there's a decent chance they'll ship stuff.

Ya this is just a rebranded Chinese e-nail, but probably a decent option for someone who wants a cheap e-nail but still good warranty/service support (I am assuming he offers some kind of warranty).

you are not going to go wrong with a SIC @brasszilla

very easy to clean, very durable and it tastes great - I prefer the older 1.3 base to the slim line as they seem to have some manufacturing issues to work out with them still

thanks for the feedback yall. think i'll end up going with the SiC.

seems like the slimline is the only base available right now? are they having issues keeping regular bases in stock or are they not making them anymore?

I believe HE made the previous bases and they've since had a falling out. I like the new bases, they're short, compact and modular. Best part is if you have a male joint you don't need to use an InfiniTi base which is overpriced.

Got my DNail 1.3 controller today and hooked it up with the DNail coil I had already bought. Temperature overshoot is about 10 degrees on heat up... I should be able to see how it does with temperature stability here in a bit.

That is normal. I believe it is to help get the nail up to temp faster not just the coil

Maybe so.. I see about a 10 degree drop when I cap the nail and about a 4 or 5 degree overshoot when I uncap.

Nice unit.. you can tell its well made. I did expect better temperature control but I guess its as good as youre probably going to get.

I've been browsing the current market (and this thread) for enail setups, anticipating the day when I tire of the constant servicing my VB2 needs. It looks like there are lots of choices for ti and quartz but it looks like D-Nail is the only one offering SiC as well as sapphire, correct? Are they often out of stock of the SiC Halos and sapphire inserts as they are now? TIA.

Concentrate Connoisseur Accessories offers a SiC insert for their Liger V2 as well but no Sapphire.
