I buy my essential oils at a store close to where I live. Folks can use the oils for candle making or use in an aroma therapy device. The oil comes in a different size glass containers, depending how much you want to buy. They probably have 50+ different scents.

The added water evaporates and keeps the oil from getting too hot. The sales clerk at the store suggested using water along with the oil.

Edit
I use a teaspoon of water about and a few drops of oil. I add more water after it evaporates.

I would recommend, if using water, to only use a couple drops of oil. If there is a thick layer of oil, the water underneath will not evaporate efficiently and build up temperature and pressure underneath that layer, and can bubble sporatically and forcefully if your temperature is too high, causing splatter.
But yes using water and a couple drops of oil creates a miniature steam distillation apparatus with the condenser being your room! Very lovely. My favorite is still lavender.

I think I'm getting the hang of it. Setting it to 5.2 with just a small puddle of oil is perfect. I got excited to smell the smells and turned it up to 7 yesterday, think that caused the splash!

I wonder if I can just scoop a lump out of a candle and toss it in there? Guess its the same concept?

what are some of you fellow vapers' favorite essential oils to buy? I was thinking of picking up the cup and some lavender, or maybe lilac (if they make it?)

Where I go they have all kinds of fruity, berry, vanilla, melon, coconut, flower scents. I have vanilla sugar, melon, pear and grapefruit oils right now. I saw that they have 150 different scents.
I said 50+ up above.

I just looked they have a website. Archibald Sisters. You can order online.

You do have to be extremely careful not to have an accident and get oil or water down into the heater. I have an aroma dish that has a candle that sits underneath that works well too as an aromatherapy device to heat the oil. That's what I originally bought my oil for.

While I think it's awesome you can use it as an aroma therapy device I'd rather not get essential oils or wax all over my nano from operator error or knocking it over. I have a wax warmer that's purpose built for this that cost all of 15 bucks at Walmart, they carry all kinds of scented wax cubes for it or you can use water + few drops of oil method. I'm not gonna be super upset if I break a 15 dollar unit that can be replaced in minutes... The nano on the other hand

True, but does your wax heater look this cool:

Big thanks to @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd for this beauty. I love dropping it on my Nano after every session.

Every unit is going to vary slightly, but through water I set my nano to 6-6.5 (this is after it is fully warmed up and the entire unit is warm to the touch). If the product is ground very fine like MLFB grinder style I don't pack if it's a more coarse grind I will pack / tamp down slightly. Draw on the water piece slow to medium yields me 1-2 thick milky hits and 1-2 thinner hits empty and repeat as necessary. If you are still having trouble getting thick vapor try pre-grinding some product and leaving it "out" to dry out a bit 12-48 hours depending, that usually fixes issues if I am having them.

I've got several vaporizers, cure/moisture content isn't the issue. I'm coming from a solo, the draws plenty slow. I feel its a screen depth issue since the same load yields plenty of visible vapor through the direct draw.

Through glass I'll get 1-2 skim milk type hits followed 3-4 very thin hits. Its frustrating, I bought the fc278 with the nano in mind and its barely denting the d020 as it is now.

More 'sperimenting is called for. I know its there, its just not there at e-pick settings on the gong for me.
I use the adjustable screen on the water tool adapter because its easy to turn into a dry stem when needed. A

Whats the difference in screen settings for your gongs vs your direct draw stem? I'm not having luck at e-pick depth.

I didn't think my D020 bubbler worked as well as my D022 bubbler with the nano.

Maybe you are using too much cannabis? That will give a restricted draw, also don't pack. The Nano needs plenty of air in the oven. I usually use the E-pic to figure depth of my product. Try different temperatures and different amounts of your cannabis.

Its passing the epick test, I've tried tamped and no tamp. My 278's got an airy matrix perc, I'll give it a go again when I'm off work.

I'm using less than .05? Same load style/screen depth is working really well in the direct draw stem, that is the frustrating part. I know its there, I suppose itll just take some more finagling.

Do you have any pictures of your ground herb? You might be leaving it too coarse, which lets a lot of fresh air pass right through the load without becoming infused with vapor, resulting in thinner hits. If you have access to an electric coffee grinder, try using it to get your herb to a sand-like consistency, and then give it a gentle but firm tamp down in the GonG, and hit it at 6.75 using the Epik screen distance.

@nondarb, When I use too much cannabis in my stem, I don't get as large of clouds and the draw is restricted. I really think using less product gives you more if you are a cloud chaser.

Are you getting medicated? That's the bottom line for me but I'm always getting great clouds with my nano unless there's too much moisture in my product. My first couple draws maybe not so much visible vapor but after that it's cloud city.

I'm usually finished with my session when the flavor goes and my ABV is a medium brown. I probably get 10 - 12 draws, I don't count. There is still goodies left in my ABV for cooking.

I've just used nuggets and there are plenty of vapor clouds.

Looks like a lot of practice is required after you get home.;)

Sometimes its a variation in packing the load that messes me up. I pushed the screen back a few millimetres and increased the load size and got a variety of results till I got the pack right again. However I persisted in the name of science till it worked and spent the rest of the day arguing with the dog and watching all of Invader Zim.

Nope that is pretty bad ass, the custom gongs @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd is making me could be part of a set with that warmer though, :D I'll be sure to toss some pics up when they get here.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
try heat sinking..leaving the stem on for a minute or two or three..

This helps for me.

I used to worry about getting thick white clouds. At best my clouds are skim milk too. But it gets me really high so I stopped craving the full milk shots. I came to assume that the herb available to me is in the 15% THC range and milker hits might come from frostier weed with higher concentrations. If not this, then its the grind or something, but whatever....I get toasted just the same.

Strangely enough, I disagree! If I'm trying to create the densest vapor possible (for videos and such, personally i also like a more open draw) I find tamping slightly will create the densest. If left in there all loosey goosey I feel like the air goes right around the material. Not packed, but definitely need a perfectly uniform base layer over the screen at least. So I suppose I don't disagree so much as just do it differently :D

@Frostiestone Whatever you are doing and it's working for you, then it's the right way. We are all trying to figure out why someone is having a low cloud delivery problem.

I personally like a little restriction with my draw but not too much.

@nondarb I hope you get it down.

Anyone still using steel wool for concentrates? I use the nano anywhere from 6-8.3. I have a drop down thats kept my fc 710 clean for almost a year but wondering if whats collected is always safe to eat or has an expiration. Anyone have any tips or tricks for similar use of a nano?

Have you given it a good preheat? If you leave it on ten for forty minutes or so it should combust your load almost instantly. I've done that accidentally a few times, you can step your temperature down after that. You might find your sweet spot easier that way.

It has been on for two days strait save a 10 minute trip to my friends house? I turn it to ~4 when I leave the house, my unit clicks "on" around 3.

I'll temp step to combustion/scorch to find my units threshold. I had thought I scorched a little over 8 but upon closer examination it was just a dark spot (spinning unit in use has reduced spottiness significantly).

I like to see lots of vapour @nondarb i got some great results when I first got mine then accidentally combusted a lot seeing just how far I could push it. It's a great little vape & you should be able to get nice clouds with it. I use mine on 8 with a gong & a long preheat. The stem is nice but more for puffing or sipping imo. Keep trying with small loads, Good luck.

So if your nano isn't clicking on until three on the dial you should either add 2.5-3 to temp setting others have posted i.e 6 for me would be nine for you, it isn't the nano running cold but the dial not actually being where the indicator states. Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember from my time hanging out here before I bought a nano that the dials being off was fairly common at one point in time, and the solution is to simply pop the dial off turn the actuator inside all the way down and replace the dial with the arrow aligned at zero. After that it should click on around 1 and your settings will more relative to those who post about what setting they use their nano at.
