Viewing my bud???

I've started to view my bud before vaping to enjoy those wonderful colors and textures and gooey goodies.
My "viewmaster" is just a magnifying glass.
What other options are there for a much better view, but cheap?

I have no need for pictures, just a personal peek at the glorious herb b4 vaping.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

What mag power ?
Does it need to be lighted?
Links?

But I like it!
If you have a smart phone try zooming in and looking at it through the display. You can even take some HDR photos and see what that does to enhance the image.

Save your faves and send them to the nearest Walmart to get printed in Big Mode. Unless you are in the wrong state, and photos like that would get you in trouble...

You got an Android? I too love gazing into the flowers...

Free app called Cozy Magnifier works really well.
Goes up to 40x which is overboard, 16x is more than sufficient.

Actually there are new magnifying apps out nowadays, I downloaded Cozy at least 6 months ago, has a "light" ability to "Freeze Frame " and save to storage device.

Can zoom in like a boss.

Used it for scoping my Trichome for harvest, rare coin identification, studying my leaves for deficiencies, possible pests.

Very useful.

Fascinating to hear that apps have come far enough to serve all of these purposes with your built in phone camera brother!

I don't grow, but I study my nugs with a digital microscope. will give me up to 300x but for nugs I find much less to be sufficient. There's nowhere for most nasties to hide when you get to this kind of level of magnification. I've used various jeweller's loupes but I am of the view that anything from 15-20x plus works for most folk's needs. A magnifying glass could do a good job of this too really! I've seen footage of dispensaries having large extendable/adjustable magnifiers on stands mounted on counters for customers to view their products now that I think of it! That could be sweet to have at the dab station!

I've gone to dispensaries and they've had the large magnifying glass with a stand showing various bud. I decided to buy one for myself. It comes in handy a lot around the house and out in our shop. They are sold on Amazon. I think mine was only $24. It also has a built in light. It's made by Carson. It's fun to look at the various beautiful colors in the different types of cannabis.

My camera on my iPhone gives pretty good close ups. I have an app that gives closeups too that I downloaded. My camera does just as well without the app.

Thanks everyone.
I have a basic TRAC Android phone and have never added any apps but will try to add the Cozy Magnifier App.
I don't think I've even used the camera, except by accident :)
I'll report back,

Signed,
anxious to see my buds

Thanks--- I was able to add the Cozy Magnifier app, miracle of miracles as it went smoothly. I even updated my goggle photos which it said was required to do.

??
1. Is "magnifier" only for 1.0 - 4.0X as that seems to be the case??
2. Microscope--is that what gets me to 30 or 60X?
Do you have to be really close to object as viewing a printed paper I got a giant blur, but I was 2" away?

3. Any good tutorials to view or read on how to use Cozy?
I found one and he had a "slide bar" to adjust mag power but mine/ what I was using didn't have that.

My pleasure man, glad I could assist.

There should be an icon that reads "x4" or the microscope icon will also get you into the really good magnification.

Yeah man, you're going to have to back up , and quite a bit, it's odd that one has to pull back with a magnifying tool, but the camera isn't able to focus at that close of a range using the app's software.

I use a little tripod for phones to hold it steady as stability is paramount in magnification

Not sure if there are any tutorials, but you can email the creator of the app, they have responded to my inquiries rather quickly and even upgraded me to the "pro" version for free.
I also went through all reviews looking for advice.

Tap once to gain some clarity, each time you tap, it should clear things up.
To start, I would aim for about 8-12x to familiarize yourself with the nuances of the app.

I also have a very handy little magnifying glass I got from Walgreens, it slides open, and when you slide it all the way out, a very bright white LED light is engaged to light up those Trichomes.
I think it's 8$, not really powerful but all my friends love it for flower inspection.

Every time I have friends over for a sesh, or whatever, they always ask..

"Where is that magnifying thingy?"

For regular daily inspection, I have a 40x loupe that I bought from Amazon.

If I want to photograph the trichomes, I have a macro lens (also purchased from Amazon) that clips to my cell phone, giving the phone much better zoom-in capabilities. It allows me to take crystal-clear images of the trichs.
