OK, so my Big Boy Bubbler is safe in the hands of the master now. I have given some direction for this but I am giving @mvapes free rein to work his magic within the theme. BTW, this is going to be a Lockn' Festival design. For those of you unfamiliar with Lockn:

I look forward to sharing photos here as soon as I get the piece back!

That rig looks so classy now bro!!! I love how clean the transitions from the blasted sections are (where the mozaic stops and goes to clear sections at the mouthpiece, GonG and corner of the return tube coming back to the can from the mouthpiece/recycler section), they work into the geometry nicely! :D

My beautiful balls just arrived, freshly blasted by my good man Mvapes!

They are outstanding, I can't wait to hit this sucker! Vids coming very soon!!!

Wow, just did my first hit from this beauty.

The first thing I've noticed is there is SO MUCH MORE FLAVOR hitting this ball vs hitting my also beautiful worked Kevin Murray tube with 11 hole diffuser downstem. The vapor somehow seems smoother too though. This is the real kicker!

I am unfortunately using a m2m adapter to put my female jointed slim series base onto the 14mm f joint on the rig right now, so the nail sits a bit high but I can still see to aim the dab etc, and once my new nail base arrives (thanks bro - you're the best!) this will be even more perfect.

The linework around the mouthpiece tube is outstanding. I love the way it whitens out when you take a hit too, watch the disappearing mandala!

The base mozaic work is also something to behold. The inside view of the mouthpiece tube is equally really nice on the eyes!

I am gonna prepare a video of a sapphire dab sundae with my sapphire halo (which yes, does PERFECTLY match the sandblasting on the rig which is a nice touch) so that you guys can see what I'm enjoying today! :)

Big thanks to Sea of Glass Artists who made a great rig to be made even greater.

A massive thanks to @mvapes for the hookup and for just generally being a stand up guy.

I can't recommend @mvapes work enough guys. If you want some extra special sandblasted glass, look no further.

Apologies for somewhat shitty photos, need to get better camera and tidy up before the photo shoot!

Here's a somewhat shitty video using the quartz halo shot with dabcam (50x picture in picture view of the dish up close at 720p) and standard portrait feed at 1080p:

Thank you, sir. That looks amazing. I can't wait to get mine back!
Cheers man, the function is really standout stuff too. I love this perc, also the ball rig form factor is super nice, really lightweight and small and the most effortless draw resistance ever, you can really puff it like a joint. My first time using a non China ball.

I keep on staring down my face at the whitewall making the mandela disappear every time I hit it lol.

It is the nicest mouthpiece I've ever hit too. I love how open the mouthpiece tube is!

I have been enjoying these pics! Am curious, does this process work on plastics [or other materials]? Does the process use a lot of heat?

I've got a cool build going on this year and I am curious how this technique might work out for a fun build I have this year

@FlyingLow - I use no heat at all, just a bunch of high velocity sand. Depending on the plastic you can absolutely blast it. You would have to find the appropriate abrasive to cut into it.

@Tstat - I worked on your piece with my buddy all day. The hair line crack in it actually dissapeared the first time around in the kiln. I was stoked, so I got back to the studio and started blasting away and it was coming along beatifully! Unfortunately the crack started to show again. We tried flame polishing and re-kilning it but the sandblasting started to fade away.

What I was actually attempting was adding the artists names from the concert floating in clouds. I wish you saw it before the kiln but here's an idea.

You could see widespread, little feat, etc...I had each name floating on clouds...

In this one you could see the crack near the mouth...

And that phucking crack again...

T, she's a beaut - my buddy actually said it should still be displayed. I promise, your next pieces will be better.

On another note, I got to hang with an FC'er this weekend. Not mentioning names but....

lol. I also had someone from a high end glass collectors group ask me if I could make displays for his curio cabinet....

I never thought of that....

Killer work~ Love the music inspired piece, ironically that is why I inquired above:D

I am going to be building this aircraft next, an Edge 540 in 1/4 scale. I am taking the basic scheme with lightning bolts and am going to dress it all up in Dead imagery. I have some time to come up with details before I get to canopy and cockpit details, but I think it would be damn cool to have a Scratched Glass canopy! It looks so basic clear...

Whoa that is badass:rockon:

I have a 35cc gas engine I am installing, but it doesnt have that hotrod look:D I am at least a few months out before I complete the assembly, installation of electronics and programming, and design the scheme. You are TOP of mind and expect a note once I'm ready to ship you the canopy- really excited to do this- nobody rocks custom etched canopies!
