Discontinued The Grasshopper

There are way more videos using water tools than using this portable dry. The whole idea is for this unit to be stealth. Maybe the water tools just looks good in a video with the bubbles and all.

The cannabis is really close to the mouthpiece so I assume the heater is directly underneath. I wonder if folks prefer the water tools because the vaporizer is harsh? Those using dry does this unit need to be on the lowest temp setting? Not being critical just curious. I have the Pinacle Pro portable and it ran very hot. I used water most of the time.

I use mine every single day on the highest setting, dry and without the condom. Really not that harsh at all, my mom who just started vaping had no issue hitting it dry on level 5. After 3 big hits she did want some water but said she would have no problem continuing to hit it, but 3 hits got her suuuper baked haha.

I prefer it through water at home still, just easier to hit a big glass mouthpiece then it is the actual hoppper(not that it's annoying or anything). Plus who doesn't love blowing fatty clouds through a nice piece of glass:D

I haven't used my evo in over a week now that I have a fully functioning hopper. This is no question the best vape I've ever seen with second place being way way behind

I find that even on 3 I have to change the way I vape it without a waterpipe. I've recently gone from long strong sips (similar to that of the Arizer Air), to more of a staccato pulsing breath. *huff huff huff, inhale* and repeat. I find this helps get decent sized clouds (hard to achieve without a waterpipe sometimes) and keep it relatively cool. But I would feel comfortable saying that 3 is a bit hotter than most vapes, and 4 I had to have some water close by. Definitely prone to getting some hot air with your vapor.

I have the Pinnacle Pro knockoff tube from DHgate, and it makes it 10x better, and a waterpipe even more so. Only thing about the PP I don't like is you need to put even less water than normal in due to how hard you have to hit the Grasshopper (water is prone to hitting your lips).

Just now I'm realizing you're talking about the actual PP vape... I don't know anything about that, so I can't actually say :p

My SS will have similar marks to @paytonpenn , but only when it's really hot in my room or outside. I think it's more of the moisture from my hands reacting with the oils. Very easy to wipe down. I use a microfiber :p

I don't see the update posted? I don't care, but I know some of you don't have access to it. I also may have missed it.

Right there with ya. Only been using the EVO when I want some watercooled goodness.

I use mine sans water almost exclusively. After watching biohacker's vid I started using the hydra tube a few times. The vapor dry (to me) is more flavorful. It's nice and smooth with water, but the flavor is more distinct dry. That's why I use it that way. I use the temp setting between 2 & 3. For me, any higher than 3 (even 3.5) I started tasting the stank. The taste at lower temps is superb. And the hits are big, maybe not dense, but big clouds.

My Pro on setting 1 produces big hits and the vapor is not hot. The gh beats the Pro in flavor but the Pro beats the gh in convenience, battery life, and draw resistance imo.

Thanks bud!

Doesn't seem too drastic, very slight gap, likely helps prevent back end issues (one would hope), I'm sure it's a functional improvement and seems fine superficially as well.

Odd about the color variation, but a purpley grey does make me think of switching my brother's dark grey pre order, otherwise I've got blue and steel coming some day hopefully soon. I do like the plain Ti though too...

Disappointed with their update, I throughly they were fluffing themselves up for" nearly finishing the backers orders. I spoke to Caroline in the middle of December and she had told me then that I would likely get my confirmation at the end of December and would likely be holding my hopper in my hand in early January. This is after several delays already..

Looks to be a great vape, but grasshopper has got to be more transparent true shipping timelines.

sad to tell you,,,,the backend of my hopper starts to fall apart again,,,,after maybe 40 uses,,,,
recieved first hopper nov.27.2015
had the first issue after one day,,backend falling apart.
recieved new backend dec. 09.2015
then, the body/heater started to have issues and overheated,,,,
recieved a new hopper body, but without a screen,,,,
recieved the screen 10 days ago,,,hopper worked like a charm until 30 minutes ago, i wanted to set the dial and then the backend started to go apart, it is not totally apart like the first backend, but for some milimeters and the hopper battery chamber and backend now terribly smell like electronics........................i don't now what to say more,,,i know they will warranty this again, but it would be better if they did more testing before sending,,,but i also understand the stress they must be in, i don't blame them, everything is still new for them and there is pressure,,,
i just hope one day i have a hopper that will work for at least a year...:-)
sorry for another sad story,,,,,when working, the hopper is a must have......

Do you have one of the redesigned back ends with the wider gap?
i don't know if it is a new design, it looks like the first i had, first backend was nr. gt00642 if i remember well,
the second one is nr: gt000793 .....

I feel like yours is probably not one of the newer backends, I think they started going out more late December, but I could be wrong. I don't think they ever said how, but it was reported that Caroline told someone on Reddit that they had redesigned the backend to reduce failures, and I don't think since that time that I've heard of any of the ones that went out after that show backend failures, but I could be wrong. It all has started to kinda blend together at this point

A while back I mentioned my Purple would get "stained" or printed temporarily with my fingerprints when being used or handled, here is a picture I took that shows it off pretty well.

Hey @paytonpenn sorry to be so pedantic, but I really am that OCD lol.

Are the parts I highlighted scratches/blemishes on the anodised finish. Or just built up dirt?

If they are minor scratches I'll probably go with plain silver Ti.

Also for those with a SS AND a Ti.....are there actually differences in performance as stated?

i heard that steel is keeping a heat better. Ti is cooling down faster. so technically SS should be better for multiple hits. holding that temperature up in its body.

I don't mean to argue, but I heard that the Ti cools down quicker too... so in turn the mouthpiece would cool down quicker between hits, thus making it more bearable to use for multiple hits.

From what I understand from this thread and the website... The chambers/heating elements are the exactly the same materials in both models, just the outer body material differs. And ideally you'd want the outer body to dissipate heat quickly, not retain it.

Also, as per the website, one of the main selling points of the titanium is "greater performance"... Whether it's marketing strategy I'm not sure... But it stands to reason imho... Just my 2c..... But someone with both models would be able to comment (or GH themselves).

Lol.

I'm thinking most scuffs are from drops but I don't use the session extender when mating to glass and the session extender seems to take some color away.

I just got a magic flight orbiter and I totally agree that the flavor is more distinct dry. I really like using a GH with glass but its original form factor is how I use it most of the time and its a great device that way.

less energy consumption if body keeps the heat around that heater. no? like a heat bank.

i'm not sure. just speculating.

Nah, on the tapered end possibly since I was in mid hit when I took the pic (although you can't really see the tapered end well). But I don't insert the gH further in my mouth to reduce heat.
