I am going with 2 plates that both heat and allow the concentrate to splash back and forth to each plate. the mouthpiece will not be where you load it. there will be a side pull out ceramic tray that when inserted into the atomizer wall will center directly between the two plates(same tech as the donut just a different shape).

How about a skillet plate on the bottom and a standard donut on the top. That way you could still load it from the mp. Just a thought...

If he can find a way to get that slide out tray to work without getting stuck, then that would be easiest to load I think. I actually thought of exactly what you said but I think Matt's idea, if it works, is superior

I do think that your idea makes for good airflow to pull vapor through into the mp, though maybe would splash hot oil, especially if you pulled too fast... So some sort of splash guard would be good to top it off with.

Great work on the DC herb atomizer Matt! Got it dialed in @ 26.6w on my XvoStick. Nice easy draw, and tasty flavor. This atomizer will get warm with repeated hits. I see no need for me to roll much past 28-30 watts for my usage. For a single 18650 mod to be able to run a ceramic convection vape is the cat's ass!
The cap is slightly loose, but this is probably good to allow for thermal expansion. The atomizer fits into a 14mm female, and an 18mm with an o-ring for stability. Well designed, simple, effective, affordable.
Thanks Divine Tribe!

Ni e to hear that someone already has it! Any pictures or videos? Can you use it in temp mode? Does it vape evenly? How is the extraction?

To many questions I know, but have been waiting something like this for a long time! I think I'm gonna order one soon :)

Conduction, right? Dope that it fits glass right out of box! Mine has landed, but much of what I report will be a telephone game, due to it being in someone else's possession for the next month or so.

Eh, got to be some measure of convection due to the hot air being drawn across the herb. I will try it on my SX for temp mode. Vaped evenly, no char at 26.6 watts. I am sure there will be some who will want to push the throttle as far as it will go. I believe the max suggested was 40w. No way I will be in that region.

My DC atomizer is on the way, I can't wait to use it! I wonder if you have to stir the bowl at all?

Thx for the wattage tip, the 20-40 spread seemed pretty wide. How hard of a draw are you able to get while still producing thick clouds?

I would say a moderate draw will keep up with the heat. The temp control setup on my SXK set to 390 worked very well. I can't say that the temp got all the way to 390, but I have now ripped through 3 chambers and I am tapping out to go and walk the dog. No you don't have to stir as long as you don't pack the chamber. Think coarse grind, nice and dry, no packie......

How much are you loading per "chamber" weight wise?

Thanks

So, I've used the Persei Herculese setup for a while with mixed results. It seemed to screw up at the most inopportune times. I lost it and replaced it with a Puffco pen. I like it but the coil is caked and I need to buy a new one.

That said, this thread has caught my eye. I'm looking for something for shatter. I make a lot of Everclear extract and I'm looking for a DT recommendation. Maximum flavor, holds a lot, reliable. Any suggestions?

i too have been using the Herc/Persei setup for quite a while. I only picked up the DT and istick40 set to see if it would suit my needs after another Persei button failure.

I was never very impressed with the taste of the exposed heating coil design of the popular load as you go carts (VapeApe, Kiss, whatever) but the ceramic donut tastes as clean as my shatter does in the Herc

the herc would last me a few days between loads. the DT needs to be fed sometimes twice daily for my use.

Overall I love it and have already setup a few friends with the same package.

So would you say it was better at TC 390 or 26.6 watts?

So.... the new atomizer is really cool! same bottom structure but the top is different. the top is taller which I do not like. but the air flow is very nice and its easier on the mouth because of the wide mouthpiece. If you want a step up from the 2.5 or just need a new one I highly suggest this one until the 3.0 comes out

good job matt :) keep innovating my friend @divinetribe

I got mine in today too and like the new top. At first I thought the 2.7 was taller, but after comparing the two, they're basically the same height, but the new top is just a hair taller but fuller at the top instead of the tapered mouth piece. I vape with a chuff cap so I actually prefer this mouthpiece. I love the lil dabbers that come with these too lol.

I haven't tried the Divine Crossing dry flower atty yet, but I like form factor and the look. I got some running around to do but will certainly report back after a couple sessions tonight.

Here's a pic comparing the 2.5 and 2.7, thanks again @divinetribe!!!

Does anyone here have a preferred method for reclaiming splatter from the 2.5 cap?
