Incorrect heating technique will cause the isolation body to get uncomfortably warm with radiant heat.

You use the side of the pencil shape of the torch flame to skim the surface of the vapor cylinder.
Are you saying obliquely glance the cylider, with flame tip towards the pipe end? I find I get a backwash of torch heat entering vapor chamber though fresh air in-take upon inhalation. A video might be best.

This design seems uninspired and under engineered to me, I just can't see how this is any different than making a light bulb vaporizer. I personally like vaporizers that don't require a lighter because it takes the "tech" factor out of it for me. I can on the other hand appreciate a well thought out design like the Supreme Vape or the Vapeman, which is crafted like a Swiss watch when you watch one being made in the youtube video.

Seems your not the only one that unimpressed, VapeNow said they were having combustion issues in this thread.http://fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=1367

I have been using this Raydiant Titanium Vapor Engine(RTVE) for about two weeks now.
With a little trial and error I have figured out how to get great hits.

You need a great lighter and a large can of butane. The lighter has been the most frustrating part. I am keeping my eye open for a small jewellers tourch.

I got a new grinder and started using a mortar and pesttal. The finner the better, but I'm sure this is best with any vaporizer

I load the barrel with just a pinch, about 10% of a regular splif.

Now you need good hands. I hold it like a regular pipe. I then spin the barrel with my ring finger on the mouth piece. I heat the barrel by skimming the flame over the barrel. Making sure too keep the flame away from the aluminium body. Heating and spinning the barrel quickly, about 15 seconds, I watch for a little vapor to drift out. Now remove heat and take a short soft drag. Heat and spin for 2 seconds, you should see vapor drift out again. Remove heat and take another drag. Repeat steps until you can't inhale anymore.

I can get 3 hits from that pinch and now the RTVE's body and my lighter are too hot to handle. I will not be using this in a group. I can't even see myself taking it out of the house. You can't put it in your pocket after you use it. Way to hot.

I have had it combust a few times. That taught me how much heat was the limit. Keep it clean so it is easy to spin.
