Are you using the stock ?mine is super tight. I use one from my errlectric and it's way more loose and much easier to get out.

Yes, I use the stock plug. It fits satisfactory but perhaps a bit loose and can flip the unit off on occasion upon passing. I see there is a 10 foot plug for sale on Amazon that may suit my needs a bit better, perhaps it will fit in nice and snug as well

Clean the bamboo the way through with a funnel and you will be fine. It needs ISO in in there about once every three months. That's why you got those red caps so you can give it a shake and a good clean. Plug up the bottom when you do an ISO pour just make sure the Bamboo is cool and rinse it out with water. Again do this all with a funnel so your EVO does not get wet anywhere else. Don't be afraid to clean it. You should iso the bamboo that sticks out (top and bottom) about three or four times a month. Whenever the flavor gets a little iffy. Hydratubes stay clean for a while if you keep their bottom clean after each session or dab.. Take a damp q tip and wipe of the glass top where your EVO or other vape connects to it and you will only have to change the water for quite a few uses. All in all the EVO and all it's parts go a long time without a lot of cleaning needed, and it's easy when it needs it.

As far as vaping with water goes, I just cover the diffusion slits and keep my water levels as low as possible. As long as I get my slits covered, and my bubbles going, I'm good to go. It's very different than combustion where you fill the bong up. With vaping you want to taste it, you just want to cool the heat or enhance the flavor with water. With combustion your trying to cool the heat and kill the smoke taste to try to get some of the buried herb taste underneath. Thus you fill it with water. HT's are meant to have very little water because the flavor is meant to be tasted full throttle, with the diffusion only enhancing your experience.

I have finally found my only complaint about the EVO.

Cleaning it

So frustrating

Can't scrub off black mark just below joint
Can't fully fill the plugged bamboo to soak due to some kind of vacuum or back pressure

I need a dab but everything stinks of iso :bang::bang:

Have you got any bottle or test tube brushes?
I've never had to, but to fill the tube you could use a syringe or pipette
If I didn't have another vape handy, I'd probably try turning the evo on to evaporate the iso (unless it's gotten inside?)

I've ordered a pack of these too just in case

I don't think there's much of a reason to worry about cleaning the entire length of the bamboo unless you think something has actually gotten down there. I clean inside the joint often but that's all that's been necessary so far.

Anyone else that uses the nail daily seem to have a blackened bamboo (about a centimetre deep) directly below the joint?

Thanks for all your help so far, I'm usually more polite. I'm just stressed

I don't use a nail in the Evo but both Clouds & my last Evo all went black in exactly that spot even with weekly cleanings. Couldn't get rid of it with iso & after a while just stopped trying & didn't worry about it. It didn't seem to affect taste or performance.

poking down past the joint to scrub or knock out the char in my evo was somewhat stressful and I wasn't thrill with the results. pour iso down my evo? on a risk vs reward basis, lifelong shame and regret no thanks. so I decided to take the blazer big shot to my Quartz vapexnail, heating it until it glows then I insert it into my evo (while it's on at full temperature). I rotate the vapexnail to allow contact along the inner chamber and I attempt to incinerate the remains. results? I see smoke/vapor rise out and I think that could only be a good thing.

on occasion I'll simply hold my unit upside down at full temp which can be useful for interior burn offs in my opinion.

i never hit flowers past 12 much less 1130 on the dial.

FC-710 and FC-1000 are flavor monsters for dhgate purposes.

you can get extremely dark abv if you grind to a fine powder like consistency and raise temperatures slowly as you rip your bowl. basically like a session with the mighty. few hits on your base temp, up the heat a hit or two up the heat. stirring your material doesn't hurt, just pay attention to your material getting clumped near the top of your elb. knock it back down to the bottom, higher in the chamber = less heat right? righhhhhhhhttt

let's not be afraid to think logically about some of these "issues" here. you buy this thing you're excited you're apprehensive you're cautious, this is good. I sense too much intimidation here. I'm probably out of line but please have some self respect and realize that you are not incapable of rational thought! there's really no learning curve here, you can trust yourself to have proper judgement in handling this thing. if you've come this far in life to read and reply on an Internet forum and you can't flip a damn switch turn a knob and inhale. then God help us all.

also a digital temp readout for the purists? haha ok now I'm just a hater but when and where is that reading going to come from and who's going to stand behind its accuracy? it's just another knob you'll have to play with until you like the right number am I correct. I'm sorry this is the kind of thing that boggles me. how about a heat gun costs 20 bucks go buy one I hate you. clearly I need another hit, I'm all over the place here

YOU LIKE THAT!

I had a talk with the man at vxl yesterday and have some things to relay...

1 -- the current price reduction was made to make the Evo more accessible, and it has worked! VXL has a good enough distribution system now that they don't have to rely on distributors to get volume sales, which means they can bring more sales in house for a lower retail price.

2 -- they are working on a family of other vapes that will all be complimentary. I don't expect anything to come out in 2016, but what they do come out with will hit other usage styles, leaving the Evo as the flagship model. So no one needs to worry about their Evo's becoming antiquated by new releases.

3 -- HT designs are a fluid thing and are always being tweaked to get them just right. This new design was made because people aren't using hydrafeet as much and are just setting them down. The old design made them easy to knock over, while the new one makes them more stable for fewer breaks.

@carlosod does this FC-1000 require an adapter? I recently got FC-200 Mobius Stereo Matrix but it delivers just a bit too much diffusion for my liking. So I'm looking for some other HT with less diffusion . If this FC-1000 works with no adapter I'd give it a try. My current Matrix with an adapter to the side and EVO's ridiculously thick and heavy power cord is ready to turn over any time. I have to hold it in hand during the whole vaping session and find this a bit annoying

Hmm, doesn't seem you can buy any thinner cables.

Maybe with an adapter like this one, you could find a solution?

If I were ordering today I would get either of the Swagger HT's over the standard ones. Considered buying the circ, but I already have the Swagger Double which is basically both of them put together.

I used my Double for a few weeks before realizing it wasn't what I ordered (I was high, duh) I had been only filling the top chamber, which is the circ. You really can't go wrong with it. The quality of the Swagger tubes is also fantastic!

I saw one of their YouTube videos and they gave some hints away there. I'll be looking forward to see what they come up with. Till then I gotta jump on the swagger circ too. Just waiting on your word sticks lol.

Just spent about six minutes furiously hunting for the cap to my ELB, only to realize it was still attached to the ELB itself. Just EVO things, I suppose...

I'll probably have to put it away soon to take another tbreak. I love using this thing too much and it shoots my tolerance up like crazy! Parting is always such sweet sorrow but it's a comfort knowing it'll only be for a few days.

Pretty impressed with Vapefiend, order my Hydrafoot 2.0 Bomb Edition on Dec 23, showed up in Colorado on my doorstep on Jan. w.

I'm enjoying the foot. It doesn't stack bubbles quite as well as I thought it would. But that bomb perc is pretty. Pairs with the bomb version of the hydratube very well. It adds a ton of volume, so it can be hard to clear if you don't stop soon enough.

Hello everybody,

i just registered here on this forum today, so i would like to introduce myself real quick :)

I live in Germany and I have been reading articles and discussions on this site for over a year now and with your all help it was so easy for me to quit smoking and combusting and completely switch to vaping. This is now exactly one year ago and i am still so happy about it!

To get back to the topic - yesterday i finally ordered the Cloud Evo from a Dutch vendor and i assume the vaporizer will arrive within the next few days. So i'm really looking forward to it now! (Although i read about the many issues people here have or had with their units / or H.T.s but i am optimistic that the one i ordered will be okay :p
By the way, I ordered the Turbine and the HoneyComb HTs, both of them.

Although i have read the last 50 pages on this thread i still have 3 questions which haven't gotten clear for me so far and maybe someone here can help me out, so that i am prepared perfectly when the Evo will arrive !

1. Is it recommended (or even mandatory) to use distilled water with the H.T.? I am asking, because the tap water where I live has a real high quantity of limestone in it. I am using a glass bubbler right now and i can see the effects the water has on the glass so i definitely want to avoid this on my H.T.s.
Distilled water should be more gentle to the glass i guess? But the question is:
When i clean the H.T. with Iso-alcohol and then rinse it with warm water (tap water ?!) afterwards i still have that limestone on the glass. And i think to use distilled water for rinsing the alcohol/smoke soap etc. would be a little too much...?
And that brings me to my second question

2. When should i put RezBlock / cranberry extraction into the water? Do you put it into the water after you filled / prepared your H.T. for usage? Would you recommend to empty the H.T.s over night? I medicate daily so i plan to clean the H.T.s daily on the evening and keep them filled with water all the time. Really not quite sure about all that ..

3. Usually i vaporize dry herb , but lately i got some nice hash which i love to vaporize through my Verdamper (which by the way is also a really nice vaporizer- completely out of glass like the Evo, just the screen is made out of stainless steel). So i have to put some herbs onto the screen first and then put the hash on this "bed of herbs" because otherwise the screen gets totally smeary immediately. I usually use brown, already vaped buds for this - has no special extra taste to it but functions as a screen-protector quite nice .
So, how about that with the Evo? I saw people here using the ELBs for hash - but that was some real blonde hash/skuff and not the brown, sticky hash that i got. Would you guys recommend the (glass) nail or the ELBs for this kind of stuff? I don't want to smudge the ELB, it's really not fun to clean the screen the my Verdamper, when a little hash has dropped on it .

So thank you very much in advance for helping me out on these issues i have and please excuse my poor english, hope you guys understand everything :p

Greetings

Hi Drew, I'm from Denmark,
1. It's deffinately better to use distilled or boiled water (cheap)
Limestone infects my glass before the gunk from herbs...

2. Not certain on this one, but I think you put cranberry in when it's easiest, ie. when you've filled the HT. and you possible could keep the same water for a couple of days before changing.

3. I would only put hash that can evaporate most of it's content in the nails, trichomes and classic hash goes in the ELB. which get pretty nice after a soak in ISO.

Happy vaping, please leave a comparison of your 2 vapes!

I often turn my evo upside down for the DO20-D just to see my herb disapear in the water because I did not put the cap on:mental:

Welcome, I think you'll love your incoming EVO!

1. If you have very hard water, distilled water might not be a bad idea at all. The hydratubes don't take much water, so a few liters would last you a while. It probably wouldn't hurt to use distilled while cleaning either.

2. I have a little beaker I use to fill my hydratube. I put the water in, put in a drop of cranberry extract, swirl it around, and then pour it into my HT. I would absolutely recommend emptying and rinsing your HT's over night. I find they start to get a little funky if you leave the water in too long.

But it's just like bongs. Some people change the water every bowl, some leave it for months til it's a putrid funk. Personal preference, but I opt for clean and fresh.

For your routine, I'd just fill the HT's up whenever you're ready for your first session of the day. Depending on your usage, you might change the water at some point during the day. I usually like to change my water after every few sessions just to keep it clean and tasty. And when you're done for the evening, just empty and rinse your HT's.

3. I don't have a lot of experience with the hash you're describing, but if I were to attempt to vape it, I think I'd take this approach. Crumble up the hash into little pieces to increase surface area. Using the ELB, I'd sprinkle a little fresh herb on the bottom. Then put in some hash, then a little more herb on top. Take a few hits, then take a tooth pick and stir it around in the ELB.

I think that would work, but maybe others here have better advice for that type of hash.

Hope that answered all your questions. And I have to say, your English was written very well!

Drew--
Cleaning question:
to conserve distilled water, I first soak and clean, then rinse a couple times with hot tap water---which would leave a tiny film of "limestone water". Then I warm a small amount of distilled water to swish around inside it to remove the last traces of limestone. Swish out once more to be sure and add my distilled water.

If you are new to hydratubes---experiment with water level but note that too much water and it will splash up and go down intake port into the bottom chamber which is not good.
I have a Turbine too and best to keep it well below that "glass turbine blade" which is midday up

Do any of you guys have a particular brand of cranberry extract you'd recommend? I think I'd like to start using them to help keep my tubes all nice and sparkling clean :o. I clean them fairly frequently (generally I use one while the other is soaking/drying and then soon as it's ready I switch and start all over) but I'd love to be able to keep my glass absolutely pristine :D. I see a lot of like... food additive/health food kind of variations of cranberry extract but I'm not sure that's exactly what I'm looking for, LOL.

Does the cranberry impact the flavor of the herb at all?

@Drew_de_Verdamper welcome to the EVO family :D. you're gonna love it here, this little machine is rad. i also have the turbine and the hydrabomb and i love them both, although the turbine is my personal favorite. let us know what you think about your unit when it arrives!
