Yup, I'm sorry this is our fault. I'm working on the fix. Have samples on the way. Once I confirm the tests I'll order parts asap. Then I'll post a process for the fix here. I'm very sorry about this issue, we missed it in testing the new shocks.

And no I don't view the new disks as a "patch" they are a complete solution to the problem. I just need to ensure that they'll hold up under repeated usage will take me a couple of days to assess.

Aldo, this is great news. I didn't think that for one minute you are cutting corners in any way. Remember my review?! Please take your time we all appreciate your communication and hard work. We're all human and are not perfect. Things get missed and happen. I have 100% faith in you and your product. I'm a JyRAz follower and believer! Keep up the hard work and thank you.

Sum'na'beech! Why didnt I pay more attn and read ffs.... I thought (in my obvious red eyed reading hehe), that the black gasket thing was a past thing and corrected, only to end up with my whole order with them :doh:

If I had payed attn, I would have also got a ton of the white/natural gaskets as I've never had issue with them ever (not even odor for 'me'). So CRAP CRAP CRAP I say, since I can't knowingly gift these defects and I'm pretty sure the 'new' replacement gaskets will never make it in time for xMas :cry:

Bro Luv ya and all Aldo, and for what you do..... but damn you for making me have to go out and xMas shop now :argh::p;)

Got my 2 green Satchmos today. Really like the size and the color is just the right color green. I am now the proud owner of 4 JyARz. Thanks Aldo!

Both my new Satchmos have the black gaskets but it seems that all the black gasket issues in this thread are with the Classics. Both of my Classics have the white gaskets by the way. Just wondering if any Satchmo owners, who have had them for awhile, have noticed any deterioration in the gasket.

Regardless the black gaskets at the bottom of my classics are self destructed. The white, perfect shape and tighter tolerances obviously. Not Good on the dark side however. I also would like this fixed but still will not order a kit because as far as I know things are not figured out yet. JyARz are still tops no matter what though.

I wouldn't worry about ordering. Something similar happened about a year ago with the gaskets on the Satchmo's and Aldo took care of us.

Just found the bag I stuffed in a drawer.. He sent us out some replacement gaskets with instructions. I still have 4 white gaskets, 3 rust, 3 black. The letter states to replace the white with the rust. Not sure why I still have 3 rust colored gaskets. No clue why I have 3 black ones.

Fuck I'm high.

I have 10 extra gaskets, yay.


Edit: I just checked 8 Classics I got in today. All of them have the plastic disk between the gasket and the flanges.

What I'm not liking (and anyone that understands the composition of foam composites please chime in here) is that roughly half of them have the "star pattern" of being pressed against the flanges. Also, the pattern of the plastic disk is embedded on the other side of the gasket (the disks are not circular and appear to be hand cut with scissors).

To me, it appears that the gaskets were removed, flipped, and the disk was added. I'm cool with that, but..

This is telling me that the foam is of the type that easily degrades/easily malforms. I'm curious to the long term compression on these black gaskets.

Either way, great product and I'm happy with mine. I hope GasketGate gets taken care of quickly and easily.

Hey Aldo, love the jyarz....I have 5 classics and all have black bottom gaskets that are in pieces..just figured I would let you know...put me on the list...Thank you...I'll be ordering more as soon as the budget allows..Peace and Happy Holidays.

I think we have a solution and we'll be getting parts within 15 days. I'll post to this group and on JyARz.com as to the fix. In short, we'll send out new shocks and a disc to remedy the issue. I just need to finalize the process so that it's clear to all how to request the replacement parts.

And yes, if you order now we are incorporating this fix (albeit hand-cut discs) into all Classics.

NOTE: This issue only impacts Classics, both Satchmo and Chico are not impacted.

@JyARz has there been any further thought on large jyarz yet ? I'd love to ditch my storage masons to some JyARz that would at least hold an ounce (or two) for my cold storage cabinets.

The foam is very high quality compression set resistant foam. But it doesn't do great on the ridges in the bottom of the Classic bottle. And yes those are hand cut discs, but they hold up well and spread the pressure of the cap closing on the glass (which is transferred down to the shock) and they eliminate the tearing of the shock absorber.

We have disc replacements on order and they should be in mid-late January. I'll post replacement ordering instructions here after the holidays.

GasketGate...that's a good one! We will absolutely resolve it to everyone's satisfaction.
