Mine is still on the way, but from watching the videos, my take is this: the vapor path is basically an inverted question mark. The glass ball closes off the bottom of this. As vapor flows thru the stem, it causes the pressure within the stem to decrease, pulling the ball up, and opening this "valve". Cool water from the bottom of the can is mingled with the vapor as it rises.

I believe it's an integral part, allowing cool water to mix with the vapor stream. If you don't like the sound of it, but still want max flavor, consider one of the small, classic oil rigs.

What's the consensus on Mobius matrix pieces since I've been poor at keeping score? I've had some good luck with Steven but I see Yingmin's got a pretty bitchin' looking double matrix piece with the GB-186-1

edit: I pulled the trigger on a THC Slimer juice box rig that was 70% off, so it only set me back about $34 lol.. let's see if these things are decent. It was very discrete. All Black plastic. Labeled Glass artware is on the custom form is the only thing even remotely telling, but that's not bad. Once you tear into the plastic it is in a "Bent Glass" box which I thought was a nice touch. But you can't see it during shipping. I would definitely order from this seller again.

@galacticdad my wife loves her D020-D with the matrix. I had a gb-187 and it was nice, but for me the matrix is almost too airy. I woukd like to try a double matrix but I can't imagine that would do it for me, though I'm sure it's incredibly smooth.

I want one of these and/or the Dabachino cups- but I want it with the 14mm female, which no one seems to want to do. I found one maker and had the thought 'if this was the camera ready model, there's no way I'm getting a decent one'.

yeah, it's frustrating! i have pieces wth male and female joints and i just haven't found a preference for one over the other yet, so i ordered some hymanquartz domeless nails male and female. we'll see. hopefully someone tackles the juice box with a female joint. i'll post again once i get it

Unless I'm using a nail that's direct inject, I prefer a female joint for an oil rig now. The joint stays much cleaner with a male nail. With titanium, the nail transfers heat quickly, and expands quite a bit. This can lead to a cracked female joint. This, I think, is the reason we have seen male joints on so many oil rigs. Now that quartz bangers have become much more popular, we don't need to stick with male joints. Quartz doesn't expand nearly as much with heat, so it seems safe to be used as a male nail.

I've been trying to search their app for a good old bong but everything has diffuseres and bublemaking things in them these days :(

Might just be the app's search function is a bit weak tho

Yeah, search doesn't work too well, IMHO. Each item has a dozen keywords, so searching for "bong" will bring up oil rigs, nails, etc. :lol:

Were u interested in a straight tube or beaker bong from 12 inches to 16 because I have found some of them on dhgate that look very nice. They all have 18-14 downstem, either showerhead or 4 slit, and 14mm bowl so I don't know if this qualifies for what you're looking for or if you want the rubber grommet type, which is harder to find on dhagte haha.

Even with a Titanium Banger the heat hasn't cracked a female connection yet, not with the Liger anyway.That's one of the beauty's of bangers in general. I don't pay much attention to male or female for oil rigs anymore because I know either way it's getting one of my Liger Hybrid bangers with either a quartz or Sic insert. They have direct inject, plus male and female 14 & 18mm connections. The heat transfer isn't bad at all even when you crank the enail or use a torch. If you need a new nail I highly suggest one, the investment is well worth it.

Wow, that thing has mad diffusion! Are you going to be using it for combustion or a vape? It would be fantastic for combustion actually. Seems like too much diffusion for an oil rig like in the videos?

Yup, had my eye on a Liger, they aren't cheap though! Do they ever have sales? I'm still trying to get a handle on the whole, "low temp dab" thing :lol:

You know I think its time I said my :2c: on this(Not directed at you personally). I've seen it said more than once that either the Dnail is cheaper than the Liger, or that the Liger is expensive. If you want the same function and options as the Liger you are actually paying more with Dnail.

Liger body(Built in 45* adapter) + SIC insert + Storm Cell cap(Shipping with multiple dabber tools) = $215

Slim Series + SIC dish + Dnail universal cap(with dabber option) + 45* adapter = $242

I included the Dabber option with the Dnail cap and the 45* adapter to match the function of the Liger's Banger design and the Storm Cell cap's multiple dabber option. I didn't bother with the comparing price of quartz as the gap just gets wider.

Depending on your needs, I believe it's fair to call the Liger the cheaper SIC/Quartz Hybrid unit in the long run. If you have no interest in 45 degree functionality or different dabber tools then this may not be the case. Personally both 45* function and the value of the stormcap(Once it started shipping with multiple dabber tools) played a large role in my choice of nail.

Once again just my :2c: and I wont even touch on which one works better as that is not something I can say with certainty. If we are looking at the short term investment the Liger is indeed pricey, but I always look to the endgame. :myday:

Back on topic somewhat. My first order from CleanClearGlass made it to Bejing in a day or two and has been sitting since. I'm assuming I shouldn't expect an update on tracking till it hits the states?
