Lol...forsight of the customer to know the company would have trouble keeping deadlines? And personal accountablility? Tell me your being sarcastic?

I'd love to have you as a customer. No matter what happens you never raise flags. But people paid for than a nickle and dimes for a hopper. Naming them whiny is rude...

Would never do one. So, nothing to complain about

Yes, for the pre-orders, they should have known. I did, so theres no excuse.. backers are wholly different. But pre-orders had a whole population subset to learn from, and should have been WELL informed, if not, thats on them.

Would you now, what do you sell? Thats not the position Ive taken, and not the one I generally endorse. However there are valid complaints (QC) which have been covered. complaining about conditions pertaining to exporting goods internationally is not valid, having to ship a broken/poorly assembled product back several times is valid, which leads back to QC. I didnt name anyone whiny, i merely characterized generally statements with no merit coming across as such.

I dropped my Hopper from ~4 feet directly onto road pavement yesterday (it's slippery with gloves on!). When trying to turn it on immediately after, I got the flashing red lights. However, I did a short battery pull then put the same battery back in, and it's been working fine since then (aside from a small ding in the mouthpiece and a small ding in the backend).

No way! And I'm not trying to troll all the fans here. I just feel people waste good money and time when you have to return more than once.

Why's that? They give you all the information you need to return it, and the vaporizer itself is below market price and by far the best value vape on the market. You're more than entitled to your opinion, however misguided it is. But to judge people and tell them they're wasting money (you could send this vape in 5 times and it still would be below prices people would pay for it), as well as time (don't really see how that factors in, as it takes maybe 10 minutes total to e-mail and bring it to a post office).

Don't you think there's a reason why so many people are so non-chalant about their GH dying and needing it repaired, even over multiple uses? Sure they're bummed, but once you own and use a GH it by far makes up for it.

Exactly that, actually. Why? Because Hopper Labs didn't really exist until the Kickstarter funded it. The backers are NOT customers. They're speculative investors. Part of being a ground floor investor is taking the risk that you'll loose ALL your investment. Anyone who backed the project should have known that going in.

I'd love to have you as a customer. No matter what happens you never raise flags. But people paid for than a nickle and dimes for a hopper. Naming them whiny is rude...

Not really. Hopper Labs is doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing: alpha testing their product. Backers signed up to be the test base. They're not customers in the traditional sense and their Grasshoppers are not what they bought. They bought into funding a startup and were rewarded with Grasshoppers and the opportunity to be the first test group to own them.

As to pre-orders, they (including me) need to have had measured expectations going in too. Again, these are start-up orders of an as-yet unreleased product. It's no secret that Hopper Labs are way behind their original ideal schedule, so pre-ordering is also a matter of accepting a certain amount of risk. Hell, for all we know Hopper Labs will fold before ever reaching a final product. I doubt that will be the outcome, but until they reach a final release it's a real possibility.

So, speaking for myself, I do find the constant moaning about it a little self-serving. I mean, if it bothers you that much just get a refund and wait until it's on shelves to buy one.

be careful man! :) you are holding a treasure in your hands many people dream and wait about. good to hear that GH is not fragile, though.

I find it amazing how many vapes people go through

Congratulations! You've won the prestigious 'You Sound Like My Wife' award.

Just messing, man.

Equate it to alcohol. Some like beer, others like shots, others like to sip brandy or wine. Different vapes for different moods.

Or like I tell my wife when she asks me why I'm buying another vape, "why do you have so many purses, you can only use one at a time".

i'm voting for dry herb cartridges or PinaclePro style bullets. there is plenty awesome pen-oil-vapes out there. GH should be tuned for convenient herb use first. actually it is essential, because it is not easy to load GH when on a go. am i wrong?
I'd say you're wrong. I use a waterproof pill container that's a little under 2.5X the diameter of the hopper bowl. I just hold the container, touching the bowl, at a slight tilt and roll it till enuf ground herb falls out to fill w/o any tapping or tamping. The hand holding the hopper is wrapped around the top of the bowl and that's plenty of funnel should anything stray. That plus a shortened charging cable and small power bank, and my winter coat is stocked w bowls for days, don't want more to carry.

If you needed to load often w zero visibility, then I suppose capsules would come in handy, but not an issue I have.

PinaclePro style bullets.

I would second that vote. I wish more vapes used the bullet methodology. The 7 bullet holder is the best on the go set up I've encountered yet.

I'm going to test and see if lightly packing those bullets, then trying to tap the contents into the Hopper would work. I know the herb taps out easily once vaped, maybe if it's not packed in very tight, the herb will tap out just as easily into the Hopper before being vaped.

hi, just an update about the missing screen on my recently recieved replacement hopper-body,
the screen arrived today, after i made a warranty claim for it on dec. 29.2015,
i asked in the warranty claim, if there would be a problem for me to put the screen inside the herbchamber (extra tool etc?),
caroline answered directly by mail, telling me she would ask the staff about this and if so, then she would provide me information about how to install the screen, (they are not like normal screens, they have tree "feet" on the side that goes inside the oven), so when the screen arrived today, there was a short letter with it, explaining me in a understandable way how to manage the mounting, it was worryless and easy to replace!
i got to say thumbs up, again, to hopper labs,
even if i had to make 2 warranty claims, they did only once ask me to send a broken piece (the backend) back, after that i had a second problem (the body) i told them that this would become expensive for me to send things back to them, because i live in europe, so,after, they did not ask me to send back the broken body, also not when the new body came without the sceen, they could have asked me to send it back but they did not! that is great customer service!!! even if my hopper will break again, i know i can make a warranty claim and all will be fine! they really stand behind what they say!
happy 2016!

Any chance you could post the instructions they sent? Glad you got it taken care of!

@TheWhisper, hi, it is not like a lot of instructions, caroline wrote, that i have to put the screen in with the feet-side first and to use the rubber/eraser tip-side of a pencil to push the screen inside,
i found it a bit finicky to do, because the screen-feet are a bit acting like a 'spring' to the outside, so you can't get all the tree feet in at a time, you have to start with two of them and then push the screen in with a little bit of pressure on the side of the screen-foot,,,,,,,(hope that explanation is not to difficult to understand, but if one day you should have to replace the screen, you will see what i mean and then you know how to manage the replacment)
i remember that, about a year ago, someone here or on reddit, wrote, that there will be a tool for the replacement of the screen, coming to their shop?!

Hi @artist , is there any chance you could post the instructions they sent... without your interpretation?
It's kind of difficult to understand your thought process when it includes a language translation.
I mean no disrespect. Thanks in advance, and congrats on your hopper!

@tubasco, no problemo :-), here is exactly what they/caroline wrote in the letter i recieved with the screen:

" Hi XXXX,

Here is the screen for the body of your Grasshopper. You will notice there are some
feet on one side of the screen. The screen needs to go in feet first.

Start by putting the screen in sideways and once it is in the body, you can turn it into
place. We recommend using the eraser part of a pencil to push the screen down into
place.

if you have trouble with this, please feel free to contact me at
Caroline@GrasshopperVape.com and i can answer any questions you may have.

Best,
Caroline"

Thanks @artist ! This will probably come in handy in the future... Not to mention it gives me hope that the GHL team is still alive

Update on failure rate for myself. First unit was delivered the last week of July and failed in November. Second unit failed in December and took two weeks for them to send the new body. Just got the new body and I had to work to get the mouthpiece to screw on. Silver powder had to be brushed off.

I Q-Tip ISO wash all my vapes and always get icky stuff. The backend of the Grasshopper had silvery and blacky stuff and the Arizer Air did as well. It is a little :uhoh:

Crazy turn of events this first week of the new year. Hope it's going as well for all of you as it did for me... (I have a new vape family member!!)

So do you think it would be possible to pull those screens out to clean behind them?
hi @Just Justin, i think it is possible with something thin as a sewing needle but with a lille angle of 2-3 mm, but most of time a needle will break when trying to make an angle, because they are mostly made of 'hardened steel'. maybe a piece that is about 50 mm long from thin, straight, spring-wire, you make a 90-120° angle on the end of it (50X2-3 mm, like a L-shape) i did not try to remove it again, i will try on my previous, not working, hopper-body, maybe i find a good 'tool' and will report about, one of the next days.

I would be interested to hear if you find something that works......Just something thin with a hook on the end basically to pull that screen up, right? I have one GH without the screen and the newer one has the screen and it worries me that debris will get through the screen and collect so it would be nice to be able to remove it if I had to.

yes, like a hook, but not exactly that shape, because it will not enter those very thin holes, more like a 'half' or 1/3 of a hook (hope this explanation makes sense)....good night, it's late here:-)

I don't have my hopper yet, but perhaps a dentist's pick would do the trick? There's a set for ~$5 online.
