For some strange reason, after the color change I enjoy using it alot more...because mentally it's like a new vapman.

I did mine when it started getting dirty from oil and my grubby fingers touching it all the time, now it doesn't get dirty no matter how much I fondle it :brow: and if you let friends use it no more worries about burn marks.

I use a little wood butter (walnut oil & beeswax) from time to time and it keeps it looking great.

Funny thing you say that, after I charred it...I showed it to a couple friends and realized that I NEVER showed them the vapman before.

Then it hit me, I rarely share the vapman with ANYONE!

It is arguably the most intimate vape I have in my line up.

I will pass the mighty to any tom, dick or harry that inquires 'what's that?' Same with all my other portables right down to lily (who is awesome in sessions)

Not to say the vapman couldn't handle it, because I know it could.

I just dont. It's MINE.

Good suggestion. I used some of my triihouse wood wax on the bottom portion, got high and lost it. So I was thinking of polishing alternatives.

Happy New Year!

What is this a picture of? I'm thinking of giving the vapman another try before I give up on it. I tried for a while and ended up with charred wood and burned fingers. Also where would I buy a station and how does that work? Is there a video of setting it up with water?

You could try getting a long stem from Ed or attaching multiple mflb glass stems using mflb whip silicone pieces as connectors between the glass stems (that's what I do), then just hold it from the stem, that way you won't burn your fingers. Alternatively, you could put it in a 14mm connection and use it in a bubbler or a j-hook. As long as you can aim the torch and keep it still you should be able to use the Vapman with a torch. Otherwise, you'll have to get the station from the Vapman website. There is a video on youtube showing how it works.

My first few tries with the Vapman were a disaster. The Station helped me a GREAT deal and I've even got the torch pretty well figured out if I keep it dry. You will love this vape, just pull hard and don't overheat.
Exactly how I learned, although I could never get satisfactory clouds from flowers without accidentally combusting. Still, got the single most epic clouds I've ever gotten from non-melty hashes (bigger clouds than the sublimator, without a word of a lie!).

Station is just great. I love controlling the thickness of the vapor with the temp dial. Just relaxing and knowing I won't combust makes it worthy. I still torch once in a while but the station is much more reliable and even a session. Very long on a full bowl too. I got a full 20 min on very high grade dried out herb through a turbine Hydratube.

One of the three feet have come disconnected at the bowl end. Havnt tried since not worried about it cooling the load down as I assume it shouldn't matter if the bowl is still hot? More worried about the exposed hole conbusting the load. Might have to wait for a special and grab another!

So is the station worth the cost- around $250? I wonder if some of my scorching problems have to do with the vapman I'm using. Has anyone tried the basic and the classic and noticed a difference?

There's no functional difference between the basic and classic. The mica is just there to prevent the visible scorching of the wood. Take it low and slow with the torch. I have a tendency to overheat every torch-powered vape I own or have owned. I do it with the Vapman when I try to rush a session or get that last bit out of the bowl.

I think the station is worth it, especially when purchased in the package deal (if its still being offered). I owned a station when they first came out and loved it because of the ease of use and consistent results it produced. Unfortunately a career change has severely limited my vaping, otherwise I would've bought another station when they were re-released.

Where do I find the package deal if it's around?

Afzelia or Amboyna....I always get the two confused lol...maybe @Ed's TnT can clarify.

My man, that is a spectacular set you have there the vapman itself is beautiful, I am just happy to have been a part of it! Actually it's neither, I wanna say it's maybe white teak burl but can't be certain maybe @Snappo could elaborate? No doubt it's an amazing species and he sent it my way via your request bro. Really glad you like my work, hope you enjoy em for a long time to come!
