The Lotus Vaporizer

Just chiming in to say that I've had the Lotus for about half a week now, and this thing is a fucking beast!! I love it. All of my combustion-loving friends were sold on vaping after a huge rip through my lotus setup. I love my Air, but the Lotus is on a whole 'nother level. Peace yall B)
I had a similar experience:

Most of the cannabis culture along the ocean burn joints.
When I pulled out a vaporizer I was laughed at!
So I vaporize a lone to not have grief.

The LOTUS is like a joint however healthier!
I wish I had a LOTUS with my friends at the time.

Funny because the water adapter is the best in the vaporizer industry!
I still have the original and it works fine?

I bought a angled torch for $10 that seems to work better than the standard.

I have a friend who comes into town about once a year and acts like he is at Disney World with my vape collection.

Last night he couldn't wait to hit the Lotus after waiting another year to hit it. Pretty impressive that of all my vapes, this was the one he requested!

I got the high temp cap a few weeks ago. This should be the default Lotus cap. It's great. I agree with the earlier comments about its aesthetic beauty. The two tone really highlights the lotus flower shape and the flatter top really works for me too.

I've been using a lotus for a very long time now. I have pretty much the whole set of Lotus accessories and caps. I usually use it with a bubbler and it's easily the most efficient vape I own. The high temp cap just makes it that much better.

I'm also glad to see the Lotus WPA coming up more frequently as an example of the best the industry has to offer. It really is a cut above every other company's solution, arguably better than the Lotus stems and the J-hook in terms of airflow and vape quality.

I'm a strong Lotus evangelist, obviously.

Almost there...
I can see this quickly finding it's way into the rotation and being #1 to start with!
Flavor in the first hit is outstanding!!
Tapers off after that but still very good.

Clouds can be small to massive one hit lung busters!
Quite easy to overheat in one spot for me for some reason. Must practice more!

Makes me wonder why i did not get this vape sooner!

Hot spots happened to me the first week or so. Experiment with time and flame length. I love this vape. 0 to massive clouds in 4 secs !

Just tried some hash on a bed of vaped bud!
HOLY COW!!! Super dense vapor, smooth and tasty!!
Tastes like a floral explosion!

I was saving myself for my new Haze V3 testing later but the Lotus tempted me...
And now i am done! LOL!

Maybe just one more hit while i wait for my portables batteries to finish charging...

EDIT: Oh yeah! I have been pairing it with my small recycler from JM Flow.
Works really well!

EDIT #2:
I took apart my Lotus this morning to give it a thorough cleaning!
A very neat design!!
Cleaned all the plates and installed a screen inside the body, no more bud stuck in the cap!
Also cleaned the thin metal part below the heat plate. I found a lot of fluff and stuff stuck between them.
A good ISO soak and rinse and everything is good to go again!

Cool. I've been looking for a good way to vape my nearly one ounce of pressed keif tablets. In hindsight I wish I hadn't pressed it. Keif seems much easier to handle as a powder than as a pressed hash button when it comes to vaping it.

Man, I sure as hell cough more from a thick lotus hit than I do from smoking, or any other of my vapes.

It pumps out such dense vapor when you get the right draw and heat going.

@Pipes made the LOTUS stand. The angled torch lighter is better than the stock one?

Even if you do "overdose" it with great inhales, you get 2-3 "clean" coughs and that's it.
And that's where skills come in. If you manage to control your breath and your hits, then I think that you enter a whole new level of enjoying your vape.
I'm still on the process of experimenting with the timing and the length of the hits but it's so sweetly vaped that you don't really understand that you've taken a good hit until you inhale it.. :p and all these with my glass twisted bong (which broke its chileum the other day and I have to order a new one) and my cane gun glass pipe, and of course the metal lotus pipe that it came with.

Just tried some hash on a bed of vaped bud!

Sounds really tempting!!! Does it get mixed with the buds and eventually they're vaped slower as well?

All i can say is this vape is addictive!
I don't know if it re-awakens the joint smoker in me, more than 20 years of that... No more though!
But that clicking and hissing lighter sounds and the flame, all mesmerizing with great memories!

Once you get the technique down it is super simple to get 4 decent hits off herb that barely covers the screen!
Effects are awesome and taste is pretty decent if you time it perfectly.
And super FAST!!!!

I still need to try the pipe but feel much safer seeing what i am doing through the WT!
Think i need one of those custom j hooks soon!

EDIT:
Just took a massive dry hit through a freshly cleaned but empty WT!
HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!!
Now i am in flavor country!!
J-Hook here i come!

Chuck a tab or two in a high quality grinder, freeze it for several hours and re-powderize it.

I've been looking for a pure convection vape for a while. I pre-ordered a Zion back in July or August but I'm thinking of getting a Lotus to give pure convection a try while I wait another few months.

What benefit is there to the high temp cap for use with herbs? Worth the added cost?

Also, I already have a few small DX lighters (thanks @OF) that I use with a Vapman. Can this do double duty or will I need to buy another lighter?

The high temp cap uses the same heating plate. The advantage is in the high temp ring around the plate, which keeps the wood from charring. This is especially useful if you're using the WPA and a bubbler, where you're going to be applying flame longer than you would through the aluminum stem. Additionally, the high temp cap is designed so that you can fully disassemble to clean. I have two of the standard caps and one high temp. I like the high temp the best because I use the WPA almost all the time. In my opinion the HT should be the default, but you really can't go wrong with either version.

Edit: and yes, your current torch should work fine. Any single flame butane torch that can produce about a 3/4 inch inner flame will work great.

Starting to get the hang of this vape!
Bowls are evenly vaped and evenly dark!
I have been using an empty WT lately and the flavor is superb!
For a half full bowl I get about 4 decent hits with stirs after each hit.
Effects are very good and come on nicely and last for a long time with my meds.

The Lotus has my Herbalizer beat in the speed department!

Will be contacting @Xchadb about a custom j hook in the new year sometime! They look amazing and I love this vape dry!

So, I decided to check out my Lotus last night cause I hadn't really used it much since getting the Zion. I was reminded how much I LOVE this vape and have decided to go back to a rotation of my fav vapes instead of always using just the most powerful or convenient. I think we all need some variety in our lives and it is too easy to get in a rut or pattern that prevents full engagement. Right?
So, anyway, I have been wondering if there is reason to get the new high temp cap? I don't see concentrates around here usually, and it would seem they are the driving reason for the new cap. I suppose I should open the cap to see if it has gotten any heat damage, and if it hasn't then there would be no real need for the upgrade. Am I thinking right?

Ahhh, cleaning, hadn't thought of that.

Cleaning and long term durability would be very good reasons for me to prefer the high temp... :)

I guess if I ever have to replace it I will get the High Temp, but my regular one is still working great so no need yet. If I DO take it apart and its burned inside then I'll upgrade, but I have no NEED to do that now. :)
