Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Who knows, we may even be able to help out a bit!

Would not surprise me even a little bit. DV seems to be aggressive when it comes to making the product better.

If the idea of repackaging them is popular enough I bet they'd sell a 'caseless' version saving money and not risking breaking the chassis pulling it down. I bet they'd be just as happy to make money that way, if the numbers work......

I will help if I get the 280 dollars I spend on the vape back (shipping, taxes 2x because the replacement vape I also had to PAY SHIPPING OFF)

I am pretty sure I could have found the parts cheaper on Ebay instead of ripping apart an Ascent

first hint is .. not use SOFT SILICON as a fix on a earlier problem to hold the board for the charging port in place

I must say every time I re-configure the way I use my Ascent, I am mightily impressed.

That's one of the things I like about the Ascent. It is deceptively versatile in that relatively simple and inexpensive tweaks go a long way in tailoring performance to meet varying needs. As-is, it sports a nice all-day bowl for most people. Don't want to fill-er-up? Glass flowers or the manufacturer's own spacers allow you to have a "fully packed" experience using less product.

Then there's the precise temperature control - whether you like the adventure of temp-surfing to enjoy the range of flavors and effects, or would rather zero-in on just the right temperature for each occasion.

I'll admit I felt I was really going out on a limb buying a premium-priced vaporiser when I first purchased my Ascent, but I have no regrets about my purchase, and a lot of respect for this unit. Hiding inside of it's stylish enclosure is a versatile and capable tool.

Anyone here know if people have modded the Ascent to be able to replace battery on the go ?

As has already been said by now, the batteries are not field replaceable. If what you really want is a way to extend the run-time, you might consider some sort of external battery pack that connects through the charger port. Maybe something you could carry in a pocket or backpack?

I didn't notice it in this post, but others mentioned something about camping trips? Will you have a vehicle? If so, just use a car cord to charge it through the cigarette lighter socket while you sleep. Or perhaps solar panels? The included charger delivers 9 volts at 3 amps, but I believe up to 12 volts can be used, because I think the car cord DaVinci sells is just a "straight" cord with no inline voltage reduction/regulation (please correct me if I'm wrong, @Davinci_vaporizer ).

I don't believe that's the case. I think 12 Volts directly is a bad thing to do. I think DV should be consulted first. This could seriously overheat the unit, perhaps fatally.

The car cord I made for mine reduces the Voltage. It also works for the larger FM vapes too, BTW.

My Flowermate vaporizers do not seem to last very long, maybe 4 to 6-months each and I'm on my third one (which just stated failing), so looking to switch to another brand, how do people like their DaVinci Vaporizer?

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your vape issues. Let me know if there's anything I can help you out with!

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
Me and the ascent...two bowls and I was surprisingly toasted, flavor GREAT like always!
Nice vid again! :)
You prefer to puffing first and then inhaling it seems. Looks nice in the camera!
And I guess better for your throat as its mixed with fresh air too. But I know, you don't have to pay attention to that - dry lily :D

How much did you put in the bowl approx.? I didn't find my ascent to be efficient - even with spacers and glass flowers and stuff

Most of us like them just fine...do you have a specific question?

Just trying to see if there is much negative feedback on the DaVinci, any more then normal or is it considered a good value, for it's price.

Turns out my Flowermate V5.0 Pro still turns on, but switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Also figured out my power stripe had shut down, explains why the screen was blank while trying to recharge (no power), surge protector is now working and charge light now comes on :)
Still weirded out by it switching to Celsius, on it's own?

At current prices I think it is a very good deal.

Check the da Vinci site and some of the websites that are sponsors. There was a GREAT Black Friday sale.

I have only been a cannabis user for 3 years, but from what I have observed, many many vapes have some problems when they first "roll out". A notable exception is the Arizer Air, but the Ascent has digital display and other features not found on the Air.

I love my Ascent, and use it much more since we have spacers so I can fill it with less cannabis and still get clouds.

Best regards to all for a healthy and happy new year.

Well you are about the only user we heard of who manages to break so many FM's in so little time. Did you ask yourself if you were not doing something wrong? I don't know, maybe in the way you press the buttons, since your problems seems to be mechanical? (the FM pro switches from F to C when you hold both buttons for a few seconds, exactly like the Ascent) Maybe the way you use the buttons tends to make them stick or... ?

Its pretty much the same quality from Davinci, would not get either ones because they both have about the same life span.
What do you mean by BOTH? I have had some issues with past ascents, but the original davinci vape is pretty much indestructable. At least in my opinion.

If your looking for negative feedback, check google. If you want to get a better grip on what user experience is like...read the thread. Can anyone else really tell you what's a good value for YOU?

Thanks! I only fill up the ascents oven halfway then I use a spacer of a screen to keep it packed tighter. It's not the most conservative vape out there, but the taste is always great.

Mine have always lasted quite awhile.. And I beat the piss out of my ascent until my brother stole it.. It's still workin. Good battery habits go a long way in today's electronics. I replace moms laptop battery once a year but she's stubborn.

Doin' shit, keepin' fit, and too legit to quit.
@AudioGD - the Ascent is a very nice vaporizer, with its own peculiarities.

I have been very happy with mine; with the spacers it is great for solo use, and without the spacers (and and full oven) it can easily support a 3 person session.

Your draw speed, how you pack the oven and personal temperature preferences will determine cloud production, flavour profile, medical effect and session length. Luckily, the Ascent has a wide range of options to choose from, allowing users to mix and match specific combinations for a personalized vapor.

There are plenty of reviews available on this thread, so I won't do a complete breakdown here. Those of us who like the Ascent typically seem to love it; there are, of course, dissenting opinions in the crowd..

It all comes down to you knowing what is important to you in a vape. A lot of people buy these things blindly and then complain when they realize that this wasn't the unit they needed.. (hot tip: maybe look elsewhere if you are a concentrates buff)

Is it possible I was improperly using the FM V5.0S, maybe, but I doubt it. It was the first two FMs I had that stopped working after about 4 months (one after the other), but the next two FMs I got have been working just fine, I guess the unit (Pro) switching from Fah to Cel is my fault, so not an issue.

While we appreciate the traffic, this is an Ascent thread. Do you have any questions about any of our vaporizers?

Sorry if this is already in the thread, couldn't find it: Can someone w/ calipers tell me the OD and ID of the standard glass stems? Hoping for something close to 11mm OD, 8mm ID, so I can repurpose to make a slightly longer Firewood 3.0 mouthpiece.

When I thought my Flowermate had stopped working, I did start taking an interest in the DaVinci, but now I found out my V5.0 Pro still does function, I'm not going to be buying a DeVinci......at least for now.

I would actually love to see it, especially if it's hateful towards our design.
Surely no one could be hateful towards the aesthetically pleasing design of the Ascent, it's one of the best darn looking vapes on the planet!

Yes there are functionality improvements that could be made, but I'm not sure it needs a face-lift, perhaps sent to fat camp for a week or two to shrink that big butt ("Oven") ;)

Just received my Ascent. It is a beautiful machine. A few questions: why is the bottom open? My product was sifting out. I put a small screen on the bottom to help keep it together. The bowlful seems to bake really fast, like within 5 minutes. I'll experiment with the temp setting. Any suggestions based on experience?

Obviously this thread is peppered with nuggets of gold. Here are my top tips..

1. Get some glass spacers (they also remove the need to screen the bottom of the oven)
2. Get some glass pipe screens (flowers) and mix them in with your load
3. Use a screen on top of your herb once oven is filled - ensures no particles enter your mouth.
4. Keep the stem clean as it clogs up real quick due to how small the holes are.

Hope this helps, and more importantly helps you get the most out of your vape.
