Firewood Vaporizer

Yes i have used a few , my last was the mflb. I have no problem using it and getting it to work properly , i just feel the taste is allot better from my other portables , not that the taste is bad but i don't see the wood taste fully dissipating. I am sure it will calm down after more use though. Also the hits are a bit hotter compared to most of my other vapes. I think i have the technique though pretty down pat as i am not new to this and have no problems achieving vapor. As you see in my signature i have a good amount of other brands to compare to , this is just my opinion.
I'm on mobile so I can't see your signature. The MFLB is a conduction vape not a convection vape, I was specifically asking about convection vape usage in the past.

I've been loving my FW3 lately. Staying with family for Christmas and brought a Crafty, FW, and Air and the FW has been seeing the most use by far.

Once you get the draw speed down you can really get some massive clouds. And on level 2 the flavor is unbelievable.

I also like the fact that once the batteries are shot I can just buy 4 new ones. Not worrying about when/how you charge is great I just throw it on the charger after every use and I'm good to go every time I want to use it.

My mistake , yes i have a few convection and have no problem using them. I also have no problem using the fw3 and i think it is a good vape , just not my favorite in my lineup after using it.

Have you used convection vapes before? Most have a bit of a learning curve. I suspect your opinion of the FW will improve as you get the opportunity to learn it more. My initial impressions were quite favorable and as I've learned it more I've liked it more. I even successfully taught two of my friends who smoke how to use it and now both of them wanna switch primarily to vaping. Of course I introduced them to the plugged in log to learn the principle as I think it's easier in that with it having more power to it and being a bit more forgiving. Then the transition into the firewood was simple enough for them that they were both interested in vaping as a practical thing. Both had seen the volcano before and didn't view that as practical for their needs but learning to use a convection vape sold them on fucking combustion. And any vape that can convince dedicated smokers that vaping might be for them seems like a solid vape to me :) it's all about finding the technique that works best for you and for the vape. Once you find it you'll be in love. Or maybe convection isn't for you, but I'm glad you're giving it a try. Once the wood taste goes away its some of the best tasting vapor in a portable imo

Once I got the hang of it, the FW3 has become what I reach for. Only the Herc rivals it for flavor

Heat up time is about 10 seconds but i feel it takes about a minute to get some nice clouds out of the fw.

Initially it would take me a while to get appreciable vapor too, but at this point I can start getting clouds within 10-15 seconds after powering on, even at level 1... so keep practicing :whip: and you'll get that woody taste cleared out too! I think it only took a couple days of light-moderate use before it disappeared completely from my cherry Firewood; since then the flavor has been really great.

FW continues to completely satisfy my personal use needs! :ko:

Thanks , I am getting vapor about 10-15 seconds in but for me it really starts producing those large clouds about 3-4 hits in. Wondering how long you all are keeping your fw on at a time , i been typically doing about a 7-10minute session with it.

I usually don't have it on for more than 2 minutes at a time. I microdose typically and with a nice slow long draw I can usually kill a capsule in 2-4 hits, more if I've packed it more of course. A night or two ago I was having a bit of trouble sleeping so I put some real good Tahoe OG in and had a slightly longer session and that was the most fun I've had tackling insomnia.

Yeah I think his product is outgrowing him and his current operation a little bit. I emailed him weeks ago asking questions about the capsule and have yet to get a response.

Ooh, guess I should cool it on preaching the good word on this vape then :p I wanna order some more capsules soon and don't wanna be overwhelming him by talking his product up too much.

I've decided I am totally incapable of using a vape that requires any kind of learning curve. That's why I end up giving away some of the popular vapes like the vapman. I am using the FW daily and still don't get clouds unless I'm at 4 and then not much. I also don't see the coil lit. I know most of you are getting clouds at a 1 or 2 once you get used to it and I've given up on clouds. In spite of this I get adequately medicated and almost never cough even without water. In spite of everything it's a winner.
I ordered a couple of extra stems and they came in a little wood container. I like having all 3 loaded and ready to go- 1 in the fw and the other 2 in their container.

You might want to contact marc. I wasn't having good results until he sent me a replacement.

The fw gets pretty hot at 4 and becomes pretty hot to hold. Given this would it help to adjust the temp higher?

Here's my mini review.

Received it last Friday. The factory charge was pretty much a full charge and i got 6 sessions, plus coil test/burnoff out of it, prior to first charge. Already impressed with the battery life.

My first session was the most eventful. Started on level 3 and got moderate clouds straight away, but then I was interrupted, so already benefitting from the instant on/off heating. When i got back i was holding the fw3 contemplating how cool it looks, how good the instant off and shutdown feature is, when it buzzed in my hand and switched off. I nearly dropped it.

Anyway, switched back on and continued. I then thought to check the load, only to discover that the bottom screen had swivelled and a little bit of the load had possibly fallen into the heater. Luckily i was at home so had the tools and flat surface to reseat it.

Thus, mental note to check this mid session. So far this hasn't happened gain, but should be noted as something to keep an eye on, especially as getting it to sit correctly after a clean can be a challenge.

Anyway, finished up the session and was very impressed with the session and effects at level 3. So much so that I have done most sessions at level 3 despite generally preferring high temps 210 plus in most vapes.

Generally easy to get good vapor, although sometimes the draw doesn't register, but since the short vapor path gives good feedback i can generally tell when this is happenning.

I also like that the initial draw to wake up the draw sensor means that you get a nice taste of your Herbs at room temp. A nice primer for the goodness to come.

The buzzing is easy to use. Intuitive, but a bit too loud. It would be great if it could be tuned down. No lights makes it really stealth, though. Definate concert vape potential.

Filling the glass vials needs a delicate touch so spare mouthpieces are recommended for on the go, and they fit into the plastic cases that AA batteries come in, so stock up on replacement batteries and use the case as a semi airtight case for spare stems. Metal vial and/or stem would be awesome.

Overall I am really happy with it. Especially for the awesome magic monday price.

Ok, I guess it's a maxi review, after all.

I'm reading in the thread a 5v@3a power supply is fine to power the unit but not charge the battery. Can someone tell me if that method would apply to version 2.0? If so, is the electric still flowing through the battery or taking another route to heat the coil.

Thanks !

Last night I got two strong sessions out of a single capsule. 6 draws at 3 and an uncounted number at 4. I gave up when the vapor started getting too harsh, but the crazy little bastard was still making clouds. The ABV was very dark...by far the darkest I've ever managed with the FW3. This gadget continues to grow on me. I now wish I had ordered accessories because it's definitely high in the rotation.

I actually have a power supply that was meant for my FW 2.1. I bought a couple off of Marc when I used the 2.1 exclusively. I have yet to try this power supply in my 3.0 though, but I also have read that it will work. Right now I just keep the thing charged all the time. I'm going to get another FW 3.0 so I can rotate them between charges.

I wasn't aware he had been selling power supplies but provided those specs are correct I might find one or two in my life long collection of junked devices and their power supplies. The internal battery has probably / hopefully a decent life left so partially planning for the future but also thinking if I'm indoors it'd be a good idea to use a power supply.

I thought I was going to get a v3 but right now budget has been redirected so I need to wait a bit. Good thing is I rediscovered my v2 and while I thought it was broken it performed like a champ this week. I struggled quite a long time in the past trying to get some decent vapor clouds out of it consistently and just wasn't getting the hang of it. Also had a time when the heater switch wasn't working but for some reason it became functional again. After reviewing some of the posts here I am now satisfied with the v2 and it does perform and clouds are producible. I only mention this because there were a decent amount of posts in this thread saying the opposite.
